VA CRSC!!!! This is an older video but to clarify as well.. combat doesn’t have to be overseas. It can be combat rehearsal stateside, preforming hazardous duty as in airborne operations, and exposure to instruments of war.
Thank you for clarifying this. I was in several combat situations and didn't know if I needed a Nexus for a claim. Honestly, in my condition I am afraid to have a psychiatrist look at me from a civilian stand point. They would most likely have me committed than actually help me. I need help. I have been hiding my problems for almost 30 years and it is extremely hard to hide now. My left hand and arm shakes pretty bad now and I lock up motionless for hours.
I hope you got help. I am just now going to the VA after 15 years. I stopped drinking and weed, self medicating got me into many other problems with the courts. But I quit and I don’t know how to handle alot
The effective date for the award is generally the date you file the claim (unless for some reason you weren’t entitled until some later date). That is true whether or not it’s based on combat. But the fact you are a combat veteran did make it simpler for VA to establish your in-service stressor events.
You need a diagnosis from a VA doctor for PTSD. You have to see a VA doctor for 4 to 5 months to get a diagnosis. When I say a doctor I mean a psychiatrist or a nurse practitioner because they can prescribe medications.
@@sugarbear1225 I just came back from my psychiatrist meeting and they diagnosed me with chronic ptsd. This was only a 2 week process for me. I am being told though that I have to fill out a stresser statment, is this true?
