Transformers isn't dying it's just this generation of kids don't understand our figures basically reflecting G1 over and over and over again. Hasbro is doing this mostly for all of the older fans. Things like the Unicron Trilogy, Animated, Rescue Bots, RID, and Cyberverse is them getting the next generation of kids. What Habro is trying to decide to do is if they should let go of the whole G1 design altogether. Let 3rd party satisfy the older fans G1 needs while Hasbro and Takara can focus their efforts into making the next generation of Transformers fans.

I share your pain about wishing retail jet Blastoff had been renamed Takeoff or something then getting shuttle Blastoff as an online exclusive later. I really liked the idea of expanding each team with an extra member who could function as replacement limb. It just really plays into the scramble city inerrability gimmick, even if I do mostly keep the merged teams in there default configurations. Similarly, I also use the extras to display and extra combiner, although in my case it's Galavatronus instead of Betatron. Anyway, combiner wars was one heck of a wild ride, but I'm sort of glad it's winding down now. We got some amazing figures out of it that I scarcely imagined possible, but collecting all those was also a rather notable financial drain.

I, for one, love the Hasbro Generations stuff (for the most part) and can't afford anything Masterpiece or Third Party, so I'm all in when it comes to the the retail 'bots. But yeah, I think you're right, Transformers' relevancy is fading. I don't think it's going to die however; there'll probably be another drastic change in the same vein as Beast Wars that will bring it to the limelight again. P.S. Actually, according to Brian Goldner, Hasbro's CEO, their biggest I.P. right now is Nerf.

Hopefully one day, you'll be able to take the time - *IF* you ever bothered to get any of the Power of the Primes Combiners (Terrorcons, Predacons, Dinobots, Elita-1 and the Gang, Inferno (Hotspot repaint), Starscream w/Dreadwind and Darkwing, etc.) - to update this video into "Super Combiner Wars Ultimate". (Buuuuuut, since you said you're done with gestalts, that's probably never gonna happen.)

What Transformers needs is another Unicron Trilogy type reboot, forget all the old stuff and just create new characters. otherwise this franchise is dead within half a decade.

It would have helped if you had used actual Transformer Combiner Wars figures instead of 3P ones in a song about Combiner Wars and Hasbro giving us what we wanted.

So…after this video we got 3 years of WFC and we are now in the 3rd year of Legacy, which is the WFC aesthetic continued to an insane degree with Armada toys being released again! Transformers definitely didn’t die but it’s still in a weird place.

I'm pretty sure transformers isn't dying, but i do understand what you mean. We still have the new movie line to look forward to, especially the new 'cons. Oh also Combiner Wars and Titans Return are both part of the Prime Wars Trilogy however we don't know what the third part of the trilogy will be and given the fact that we didn't get Predaking, Abominus, Pirannacon, Monstructor etc. during Combiner Wars, we might get something like this hopefully soon. Plus after TLK movie line we are probably getting a line for the upcoming SPOILERS: Bumblebee solo film which is rumoured to be mid next year. Transformers as a whole is fine.

The Unite Warriors Computron is tons better than Hasbro's. Takara at least bothered to remold the bots to look like their G1 counterparts. The Hasbro is just a lazy attempt IMO.

Transformers isn't going anywhere, you're just being an alarmist. There's a CRAP TON of G1 figures still YET to be produced in a G3 updated styling, even beyond Titans Return and Power of the Primes now wrapping up (a very quick line and done though!), to usher in Transformers: SIEGE on Cybertron, and we're STILL not even close to getting EVERY character from the 80's! Also, Peaugh, while generally a good reviewer, is NOT an expert on the Transformers markets, particularly with regard to Third Party vs. Hasbro. Sure, there are lots of competing companies producing really cool TF stuff, but for the most part, they're catering to a clientele that Hasbro may not be reaching at that time/currently, because EVERY collector is different and wants different things. As far as MP goes, that competition is specific unto itself, and if Hasbro DOESN'T understand that NOT EVERY COLLECTOR is willing to throw out big bucks for half@$$#d junk at times, and would rather go with a 3rd Party who will do it better for LESS or equal money, then THAT'S their own fault, and really has little to do with the OTHER various TF lines being pumped out for usually less money. JUST because Peaugh SAYS something DOESN'T make it factual or true...NO disrespect intended towards him for having his own opinions about things though. He's as entitled to them, as I, or anyone else. So much fear and drama over nothing. On a side note... You ARE familiar with how the G1 Computron TOYS looked, right?! Because the CW version is more TOY accurate, while the Takara was more CARTOON accurate, so I'm not understanding your apparent confusion about "him"/them. Granted, not necessarily THE best representation of them, but they do the job well, just the same. Especially for those who CANNOT afford 3rd Party Combiners.

In the UK, wave 2 was skipped entirely, so we basically missed out on Superion and Mensor in terms of complete combiner modes

Combiner wars will always be remembered as one of the greatest and nostalgic toylines heck battle tactics is also nostalgic mobile game I played like crazy when I was 8 and sadly it was shutdown but I wanted the game revived

You noticed that Computron is really just remolds of old guys like strafe is a remold of air-raid,nosecone is a remold of Brawl,Scattershot is a recolor,lightspeed is a remold of streetwise,and afterburner is a remold of Deluxe class Groove.

Man you're crazy! While computron does use the silverbolt torso, computron is the best combiner out there. I love it sooooo much.Great vids by the way. Keep up this amazing format.

what I think is that the issue is that the thing we need a is a full reboot of the brand. Not like 90s but like bring a TF show that isn't trying to suck off the glory of Prime, comics, or movies. But do what Prime or Beast Wars did to the franchise and rekindle our interests. Not trying to be G1 fully, but use the IPs they got in that sense as a revamp of our loved series

Target masters are probably next. Also, what are your thoughts on Combiner Wars Liokaiser?

Still waiting on Deluxe Brawn, Huffer, Gears, and Windcharger . . . I really liked how Bumblebee and Cliffjumper (disappointed he was a straight repaint) scaled with the other characters in the size class. The new legends size looks pretty good in robot mode, but, seem too small as vehicles. Nice video! Just found your channel recently and really enjoying the content. Keep it coming!

Do you think you'll be getting the Titans Return Trypticon? It has some clear homages to the G1 toy and character, not to mention it scales well with the Generations/Universe/Classics Metroplex (and it's not a headmaster!!!)

Brawl is a great figure. I can't stand people given him a bad rap. He is one of best as far as pose-ability. I'm glad to see a reviewer likes and sees him for what he is. For Transformers dying. They need to make a not super kiddy cartoon. One were characters can die off. I think one targeted at pre-teen and teens would be good.

remember that starscream combiner there actually WAS a starscream combiner named "mega scream" my god what a weird name but it was the combined form of starscream thundercracker skywarp astrotrain ramjet thrust and durge in the transformers 1 shot comic it's the tale of in the movie what if in that battle between Megatron and optimus, optimus one and killed Megatron and starscream combined later in the comic(i don't own the comic if anyone knows more about him please tell me) he was killed by rodimus using the matrix

I really do think MLP is huge right now and TF is slightly dying. But just saying, nostalgia can only get you so far. Now if somehow a new idea gets thrown out, it'd be nice. well I think it may be that toys as a whole are dying. kids have now been stereotyped to have a smartphone in hand wherever they go. with toys you got reviewers and original fans (such as yourself) that buy them to get a little nostalgic about the stuff you loved as a kid. think about it: transformers has the 1980's fans to support them, MLP has the audience it attracts to and the growing fanbase of bronies. I don't think this makes any sense but whatever. also I thought the abigal noises were adorable.

Never got how people who love Diaclone can look down with disdain on Headmasters. The Headmasters, Targetmasters, Powermasters, and Pretenders kept Transformers creative, interesting, and relevant at the beginning of the gaming revolution. Without those so-called gimmick lines Transformers would have died out much earlier, since the fans of the first Transformers expected life to never change and hated anything new. The 87 and 88 Transformers saved the franchise by getting younger kids interested at a time when most kids stopped caring about toys.

I have a feeling Hasbro is fighting to keep ANY shelf space at WalMart, Target, and whatever other brick and mortar stores still exist.

To be honest... those two hotspot guns when they turn to one... well the gun is odd... It looks like a stick.

Transformers as a toyline is going to have a few hit and misses, odd ideas, bad ones, but there's gotta be a breaking point where the fans want better quality and design for them. and as a TV show/movie franchise, hasbro/takara needs to get on board with more writers who actually care about telling a story. Travis Knight for bumblebee as its director, i have hopes for it. my hope is that they find a way to tell a story, and give the fans the fan service they've wanted for years

we need less G1 to stay afloat. rescue bots is the most viewed transformer show ever, and it's a story that doesn't make any effort to be related to g1. It just tells a great, wholesome, child-attracting story. So many toys are emulating the IDW comics. Robots in disguise offers 5 different versions of every character to buy, which ruins the collectable nature fore kids. I say they should drop the aligned continuity (as much as I love it) and do something like the Unicron Trilogy.
