@@Gadget-Walkmen He did use the word himself...After he asks Lee to sign his name. Around 10:08. It's meant to be funny, of course he isn't actually stealing it.
@@Gadget-WalkmenThere's a reason OP put the word "steal" in quotes. He knows he wasn't ACTUALLY stealing. Gotta use those context clues, just like a comic.
dextergarner1286 Yupyup, those of us who grew up then knew Jim Lee was The Man. He brought XMen back to life and made them what they are, and how they are today, I mean the 90s cartoon XMen was based off his interpretation of them. Idk from current Jim Lee work, I can only handle so much batman/ superman in my life, ya know
@@DigitalOdyssey3001 LOL No he didn't and there was no "he sure did" because he WAS NOT at all, just stop with that nonsense as Stan Lee doesn't "super panic" AT ALL towards something as minor as that as it didn't mean anything at all.
@@rockon8174 EVERY Artist has to reference all the time for super complex things. It's just when you start out, you HAVE to reference alot and then you gradually reference less and less when you build up your visually memory completely; but you still reference but just do it not as much.
I was thinking that that's a good thing, but if he takes care of his teeth and doesn't go to the dentist for a few years, interior design of places would be different 🤷
Oh man I haven't sketched in years and this whole series is making me fall in love with art all over again. What a gem, one of the best things to have ever been filmed.
I feel like while Rob Liefield, Todd MacFarlane and other artists of the time were trying to make just cool art for kids, Jim Lee just wanted to be professional. He was obviously the best.
Pretty wild hearing Jim talking about having to draw things from memory. It’s easy to forget there was a world where many things lacked reference material and had to be drawn from memory
you have to take your hat off to this artist, pure genius, listen to what he says about observing a dentists office, back then there was no google image so it was alot harder for artists to use a point of reference!
All of Stans comments like “you’re known for breaking glass” and “you’ve always been able to draw a good elbow” are so funny and wholesome comments ahahah
LOL What? MOST of the artists who work in the industry ARE great because they ALL GET comics completely. It's just that Jim Lee is one of a kind and he's PHENOMENAL at what he does by trying rising the medium completely of what comics can be other than the rest, that's the thing and he does it beautifully with his gorgeous artwork! Truly a master at work!
I wonder if stan still has that panel stored away somewhere. It would be worth somethjng with stans signature there along with jim since he did gave jim the idea to do the panel.
People watching and trying to draw what you see is the quickest way to learn comic book art. If you can draw a room filled with people, you can draw a comic book.
animedrummerboy If he was such a bad artist then he wouldn't be successful. People who are bad at things tend not to make it in their field of work. They are usually replaced with some one who can do better.
LOL He's been doing PHENOMENAL work since he's started doing comics, FAR more than just "good work", don't try to undersell what he's doing at all here.
If stand Lee was still alive I’d ask him I’ll kill my boss for that Jim Lee drawing do we have a deal? *Disclaimer. Not actually gonna kill my boss just put pubic hairs in his coffee
