I spoke with Glenn yesterday afternoon and it was funny. Glenn wasn't trying to break the internet or anything like that. He was just speaking his opinion about the industry. He doesn't have X or Twitter (whatever you want to call it now) but was going to sign up just to read the comments. Thank you to everyone that supports him. As a former comic book store owner from the 1990's you are spot on. The stories today are (for the most part, with the exception of a few key comics) woke crap.

This is awesome content. As someone who was born a poor kid in the early 90's from rural Oklahoma, I never got to own a western comic, much less be in a comic store.

As an older comic collector, I’ll be 60 in two months, I couldn’t have agreed with you more. Stan Lee and his Bullpen wrote from the heart and put their efforts in the characters, not themselves. Marvel’s Silver Age spawned the Bronze and Copper Ages which I loved collecting for the better part of 25 years and loved every moment. I stopped cold in the mid 90’s because the new writers lost their way. The Marvel Silver Age was the greatest era in comic history, nothing has even come close.
Thanks for uploading this, Glenn is the man! He speaks the truth, and what millions of longtime fans are thinking all over the world. The comic industry wouldn't exist without people like Glenn, myself, and the orher guys in this video.

Glad to see your channel. Found you due to recent press. Had a comics store in '84-'91. Enjoyed talking with my customers like you do with your own people. The time I was working in the industry, we just saw the "new" black and white books like TMNT, Concrete, Grendel, and Mage hit the market. Spent many hours just pointing out these great books to interesting people wanting to read cool stories with great characters. Still pull down my Beanworld and Scud: The Disposable Assassin series and re-read it to this day. Thanks for your channel. Wish you continued success.
this def felt like an episode of the og series I go back to them because these new ones just don't do it for me as much one episode was like 20 min of only glenn and another guy talking and to me it's ok but come on phil used to mix it up with different people few cut aways with humor on it and most talks were comic books and that's how this episode felt. keep em coming like this.
Glenn, you are absolutely right. Im from São Paulo-Brazil and i read comics since ever. Actually im focus on buying and reading old stories compiled in Omnibus.
Saw a clip over at Yellow Flash;s spot. Huge props for making it this long considering how the industry chose not a downward spiral but rather a death plummet. I hope you still find some works worthy of a good read or two. It is harder for me year after year, Comics had always been a place I could escape the daily grind of life, the news politics, etc. They were a bit of magic. What few new books are a great [lace to be repeatedly hit over the head by some unhappy person/persons force feeding you everything they hate and want you to be just as angry, be filled with hate. Man that's no way to live. All of that is coupled with a level of laziness one can hardly fathom. Is someone wants to make a new character, then right on! I hope you do it well. But usually the main stream (which is more narrow now than ever) choose to hijack an existing/successful/iconic character and change their origin as well as everything else going forward. Not only is that lazy but rather sad as well as an insult the the fan base that quite often spans back for decades. But then this is just the opinion of a writer/editor/publisher. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could all hang in there long enough to see comics find their legs again, where fans can't wait for that next issue, each end every page makes you wanting to turn to the next and then again the one after that. You can tell I'm old as dirt by just how long winded I have become. Best regards (Nameless “-))
Comics aren't exactly my "forte". I love the classic TMNT comics, some crossover comics with my favorite properties (i.e. Mega Man x Sonic) and that's it. That being said, I could listen to these guys talk all day about comics. I love this. I can understand the passion because they remind me of when I go into a deep conversation regarding my favorite video games.=)
There might be others like : SuperGlenn, Glenn arrow, green Glenn, BatGlenn, Glenn Rider etc. But… there is only one real GLENN- the Comic Book Palace Glenn ❤ full support for life !
As many viewers know in my - yes it's me, Phil - appearances here, I have asked the writers of both DC and Marvel to simply write and tell us good stories. Glenn just said the same thing to many more people via this episode. I'm very sorry if this simple request upsets and offends people but really, this is truly all we want. We don't want new versions of the old characters we grew up enjoying and reading. We don't need the comic multiverses to be wittled down never to come back but somehow do. We don't need, nor do we really want inexplicable plot changes. Listen to this simple mantra - Tell Me A Good Story!! Really, it's THAT simple. Do what you will to a character. Give him a partner despised so much, that readers - key word there - vote to kill him off by a telephone poll conducted in September 1988. If you do it in such an interesting and attention holding way I promise you, we readers will come back for more next week, next month, next year and so on until we are no longer able to do so. Don't give us flash, give us worthwile and engaging substance. You will be rewarded exponentially. I will of course need to add more storage for my collection, but that's the price I'll be willing to pay. All you need do is give me something I want to read today and continue to do so at the same Bat time and channel. Again sorry for the verbosity and possibility that I've hurt someone's feelings, but if you can't understand the point that Glenn and many other readers and dealers have been telling you for decades, perhaps you should try finding other, more suitable work.
Writer here. I agree with you about “writer write about themselves”. I’ve noticed I make same mistake with my characters. My editor points out when my characters act like me. She points why “CEO with huge company can’t act like this” or when I put some personal behaviour to characters that should’ve behave different bc of their personality. I think it’s bc writers confuse personal experience with writing themselves as characters. I’ve noticed same issue with fanfictions (yes, I read them too bc I write about Marvel fics). For example: Loki. Loki doesn’t act like God. He acts like scared or insecure girl. BC writers want to add angst and tragedy and doesn’t know how Loki would behave to those tragedy or just want him to suffer (in my opinion: enough to mention about his dead twins from myth). So, you basically said what my editor says to me, when she corrects my chapters.👍
So many truths projecting in this episode couldn't agree more, I want to see heros battling kick ass bad guys in outer space...not real world issues I have enough of that shit everyday.... I read comics to escape and be entertained.. or atleast I did

Glenn, man, watching this video brought me back to my teenage hood when folks could talk the the proprietor and would hold products for long time patrons, make suggestions and general talking in depth with the customers. Keep it up, and sorry that you’ve been pilloried by the X/Twitter crowd.
The very strange sense of silence during the opening, before the fine gentlemen begins speaking about some crap, is very Fellini like. Lending to the mystery of the overall effect. Which you don't find very often in most pooptube videos of this nature. Then there's the cresendo like buildup of the first time appearance of the ' justice guild'😂
