Ok so I’m not sure if this dude is trying to say Israel would lose without a first strike or if he’s saying someone else said it. Either way, the Yom Kippur War was exactly that. 1973 Yom Kippur Israel knew about Egypt and Syrian plans. Kissinger flew to Israel to beg Golda Meir personally not to hit first. I don’t know what the exactly reason was but I believe it must have been the Russians. The Russians had a vested interest in the region and they gave Egypt some of their more modern and even some of their latest tech that they didn’t even give to Vietnam. Egypt was armed to the teeth with powerful soviet weapons. I think the Americans were afraid that if Israel attacked first and destroyed all their toys Russia may have decided to retaliate against Israel. I believe this to be absurd because they would have to believe the Americans would respond which could lead to the Cold War turning into nuclear annihilation. Kissinger begged and Golda told him to fk off. Kissinger told her he guarantees her a win if she just doesn’t strike first, she says I guarantee us a win if I do strike first and my way will have minimal losses on our side. So Kissinger told her what the Americans were thinking now she became as scared as them. Apparently the back channels were out of order? I don’t know honestly this may all be wrong but I don’t see any other reason for the Americans to beg Israel to let Egypt strike first. Even if it’s just it make the world like them a little more? Doesn’t make sense. A Russian retaliation is the only thing that could have the Americans so spooked and if the Americans were spooked imagine Golda when she hears this idea of a Russian retaliation? Still, it’s absurd, even Israel had nukes and the Russians had to know it by then and American missiles in Europe it just doesn’t make sense I just can’t think of any other reason. I’ll have to look into it. Anyway, Egypt and Syria attack Israel. It wasn’t looking good for Israel and Golda got scared and ordered them to prepare the nukes. Kissinger said get ready to put those nukes away. The Americans had flown in new tanks, artillery, jets, and plenty of shells. Suddenly the tide turns and the Arabs are getting smashed to bits. Golda says ok put the nukes away. So, in the end Israel still won and didn’t have to nuke anyone. But allowing the Arabs to strike first took its toll. 2,500 Israelis were KIA and some taken prisoner and the Arabs lost 15,000. The Arabs who were taken prisoner however were treated humanely by Israeli soldiers. Not so much on the other side. Egypt had some cruelty but nothing like the Syrians. They actually killed some POW, after torturing them. I believe Israel should have invaded Syria just for that. While all this was happening, Sadat was busy losing his mind. It was 2AM and Golda had threatened him personally for doing this. He truly believed Egypt would be invaded and he would be tortured and killed. He called the Russian premier woke him up at 2AM. He was raving about how they’re coming to kill them all and Russia needs to stop them. The Russian guy was pissed and told him Sadat to go back to sleep. Of course Israel didn’t invade anyone and nobody killed Sadat, until later. In 1977 Israel agreed to return the Sinai back to Egypt which began the “peace process.” Sadat came to Israel to meet with Golda. Unfortunately he was later assassinated by his own. But this was the only time where land for peace actually worked. It’s been over 50 years now and the peace holds, albeit fragile at the moment as there are those within Egypt who were not even born yet when this peace deal was made and some of them believe war and not peace is the way. Typical radical Islamic thinking. Oh and, the day after the war the Russian was so angry that they lost the war he made a list of all of the weapons they had and of how many in superior numbers to the Israeli arsenal. Egypt did have twice as many jets and 3 times as many tanks as well as everything else. But the Americans flying in more toys was enough to send Egypt home.

Yes, you're absolutely right. But unfortunately, most people don't vote rationally, but emotionally...and on how they've been conditioned to vote for generations...no matter what the reality of the situation may be. And that's a hard nut to crack, because people see what they WANT to see, and believe what they WANT to believe. For example, most blacks, other "people of color", and secular Jews who have no ties to Israel will automatically vote Democrat...because the Dems are supposedly for "poor people", the underdog, and the downtrodden in society...whereas the Republicans are supposedly only for those in the "ruling class", etc. These myths and stereotypes are hard to overcome...especially with the mainstream media, juvenile pop culture, jaded lifelong career politicians, and the sanctimonious Hollywood elites drumming these myths into our heads day-in and day-out, 24/7. IMHO, Donald Trump did a lot to dispel with that cartoon image of Republicans. But at the same time he had his own personality and character issues to deal with (much of it driven by the mainstream media and by his political adversaries) irrespective of how effective he actually was as POTUS...and as the de facto leader of the free world. In the upcoming Election in November, the people will have a clear and unambiguous choice to make. Hopefully, people will cast their ballot based on substance and policy...not on superficial imagery. But I might be asking too much!

There was a drastic, not a minor change in the MN flag. Compare Minnesota's new flag to the Somali flag. I have immense respect for David Wurmser and of course Caroline. Years ago, when i was a mush brain Leftist, I did see Israel as the all-powerful bully and saw the Palestinians as a tiny group of victims no match for Israel's strength. All the more reason for Israel to be gracious, flexible, compassionate. I did not yet recognize Palestinians as a wing of Muslim Brotherhood and subset of the entire Muslim Umma, nor did I understand Islam as I do now, having been exposed first to ex Muslim activists. Back then, i saw FDD and David through a cynical lens of "neocons" standing in the way of peaceful Utopia with enemies who were reasonable and normal, not enemies who see death as the highest calling.
Isreal needs to become self-sufficient in the development of its arms and armaments. Dependency on the US for arms that can be withheld at the whim of whatever administration is in power is handicapping Isreal from maintaining her sovereignty in the region.
Israel is capable but the USA has an embargo on Israel manufacturing certain important missiles on it's own. The foreign aid is all in the form of credits or vouchers for those weapons. Then there's the security umbrella of being a US ally. The tradeoff lets the usa put a leash on Israel But if Camel Hairs n' Walnut win, I think that leash will break from the strain.
A very good interview and discussion between Caroline and David. To David`s point about war fighting and war winning, Israel must be self-sufficient and not dependant on US arms provisions. No country must be able to tie Israel`s hands and feet when they are fighting a war.

With respect to Gaza, all refugee camps must be removed from Gaza with all its official refugees, which is 1.6 million official refugees. Camps must be moved to Lybia, Algeria, South Africa, Sudan, Somalia. Refugees cannot have say where refugee camps are located, it is not up to them. Only this will bring peace to south Israeli communities. Period.

Think this out rationally. There are only two clear choices: Harris/Walz or Trump/Vance. The T/V ticket is pro Israel whereas the H/W one is pro Palestine. After watching and listening to all four of these individuals over many hours now I say what I do because it’s so clear. I’ve never voted for Trump before and, no, no one is saying that if we do we’ll be taking over anything. What we will have is a chance to survive this horrible situation we’re all in, or at least go down with a fight. With H/W we’ll not even have a fight, and I’m not even a Jew. But ai can see this is serious and I want Israel to outlast all of this. The majority of the forces out there are clearly against Israel. What’s your better solution?
