This video is so on point, not just in the Philippine basketball industry, but also with the likes of videos I usually see with titles such as, "Reacting to Fiipino Celebrities," "Americans reaction to P-Pop" blah blah, or even in Philippine pageantry. I think Pinoy Pride is more about being obsessed with western validation, prolly also rooted from our nation being colonized in the past. I'm a victim of these reaction videos too, can't deny that. As a basketball fan, this makes me happy and sad at the same time.
Eto talaga yung totoo at may sense na content creator in basketball. Keep it up boss Ize!
I took a screenshot that time kase nung napapanuod kita dati, naniniwala ako na lalaki channel mo kase grabe yung passion, idea, creativity, innovation and delivery mo para sa love of basketball mo. Salute to you bro. You maximized this platform very well
I think having those so-called content creators na nang-gagatas or nangha-hype ng players natin like Kai, can create positive and negative impact, whereas kahit ano pa outcome kahit pa magcreate ng bashers sya, in the end lalo syang sumisikat. The only problem is only the misinformation na narereceive ng mga guillible na users. You're worth supporting though. You have a great content and have positive impact sa mga manonood. Keep up and goodluck brother!
Being proud is okay, but making biased takes, based on being proud isn't. That's what makes the content toxic. I agree that there are too many "soulless" content around your genre, but it is what's hard because the platform is making it hard to be creative.
missed you paps for your ball content, even though you fall out of my feed, (somehow di ka nalabas dahil sa algo) seeing your content evolve and tell one of the most concern in bball media is truly a gulat moment for me 🙌
'Yong ganitong content, bunga ng critical na pagtingin sa basketball in general (especially noong initial days ni HH), at ng kagustuhan to educate its audience more than the monetary gains from content creation.
We are proud of your Art bro, keep it up, I hope you reach 100ksubs real soon and 1M next year, you deserve it. Good job , thank you for your Art works we appreciate your effort creating superb videos like this . Kudos to you
it is really about promoting "false hope" to our kababayans, this has been a custom for decades way before the internet was invented. The problem is there is no sport than basketball in pinas and this has set us back in a lot of ways, even in other sports were we could excel like baseball, soccer (football), swimming, diving, table tennis etc. If we invested in other sports, we could have won olympic medals and world championship tournaments. When will piinoys accept that we are just not good enough in basketball in the world stage.
seryoso kuya di lahat ng pinoy makakaappreciate or either magclick man lang sa content mo. I aspire to be like you, wala man pera pero naeexpress ko ang saloobin ko. Pasensya sa mura pero its the only way i could express my amazement towards your content. hope this reaches you, so I could learn from you
you give me chills on your contents bro.... damn!!! i wish lahat ng pinoy youtubers lalo na yung mga vloggers doing basketball stuffs got the same mentality and passion as you do... more power to you and your channel.
You really are one of the best youtubers in our country, not just in tetms of basketball content ha but all over. You think things through, provide sensible analyses and just say things the way you see it, thus shows genuiness. Keep going bro!
All parts of the video is well-thought of, Ize. Very eloquent and substantial ng bidyong ito.
Galing mo brader... Yung aral nang content mo ngaun goes beyond basketball but it also speaks generally of Filipino social media culture as a whole... Thank you for sharing this idea. ❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
🙌 hoping one day you'll reach the number of reach and audience you're aiming for kuys. Been watching your vids and hands down, one of the best or even the best there is. 💪
Sabi na mababangit ung channel na un hahaha. Kaya nga eto lang ang Pinoy basketball channel I’m subscribed to. Not biased, analyzed intellectually, and produced very well. Keep up the good job Sir 👏👏👏
You Must Reach more People, this video is one of the Greatest But. Your Title is not engaging to people. If you want to reach youtuber yes. Great Job
Hoops Highlights is what I used to thought of another one of those Ph Basketball CoNtenT creators na puro pa hype, clout, and unrealistic when it comes to their analytical assessment. But after I saw this channel's videos... I accidentally bump myself on a hidden gem. The editing, analytics, humor, and TASTE of this guy is on another level compared to your usual pinoy basketball "vloggers". Hoop Highlight is a refreshing perspective in Ph basketball content on YT, one of the very few that I genuinely enjoyed as a basketball nerd myself. Along with Bakits and Wgame, Hoop highlight is on that level of quality Keep it up sir... stay critical.
I think a fair addition to this discussion on the usage of pinoypride and it's use a racquet is the west. We would not have this problem of people wanting to overcompensate and inflate Filipno stories if they were told enough and fairly enough abroad AND at home. Filipinos have internalized international, mostly western narratives, that our stories our rare because we aren't good enough. That's why you tend to see people inflating claims about Filipinos when they really don't need to. If they didn't have this underlying reason to not report fairly, we would not be in this position. Many try to center the Philippines too often or in ridiculous matters BECAUSE we lack the attention we DO deserve. We make things about ourselves because many times no one else will. Can you really blame them/us?
really true. no one abroad wants to ever give Filipinos who deserve it their flowers or they aren't considered Filipino cause they were born in another country. a lot of people in america who are just ignorant claim that Clarkson isn't Filipnio just because "he doesn't look like it." honestly for some people they're just straight up racist fr fr.
Ika nga ng kasabihan, "there are always two sides to a story". Personally I view basketball in the modern era, 70s till now, as a sports entertainment. It was like watching a movie wherein there are times you feel excited, amazed, hopeful and then other times disgusted or frustrated. Also, even the so-called official sports journalists or correspondents resort to sort of "Pinoy-baiting" by creating sensational or showbiz like news. Paano nga ba nakilala o sumikat ang isang sports journalist at eventually na-ban sa PBA?
Gagi ang sarap manood ng mga vid mo , madami akong natutunan as a fan and as a basketball player , sana mag gawa kapa ng mga informative contents idol 😊
Wow really good editing! Just stumbled on your channel (probably my recent interest in basketball) and your contentseems grade A. Definitely deserve more subs. Inspires me to make content like this.
What I’ve noticed in the past 3 years of Philippine Basketball can be stated as a “Coin”. One side is the Hype Culture, while the other is the Bash Culture. The sad reality is that both sides stem from the same root meaning If you dont live up to the Hype expectations of the Philippine Community, you will face the wrath and toxicity of the Bash Culture.
HAHAHA
Also laki din ng contrast ng quality ng content mo kumpara sa karamihan ng local ball coverage (saka really most local content, though I haven't been one for extemsive research in looking for local content) sa creativity. A lot of them are, like you said, soulless, unoriginal, cookie-cutter, vapid cash grabs (if you can call them that) an may bare minimum effort. I swear 'pag narinig ko na 'yung 'wassap mga ka-kung-anuman', off na ka'gad ako sa content nila.
