Back to the Office?? Why EUC is the best way to get to work and with so many choices, what you should look for!
And you thought that the boss was going to let you stay home permanently? Noooo! Its time to put that tie back home and face the misery of commute once again, but it don't have to all be terrible! After trying just about every single means of getting to work, I finally landed on the EUC and this week, lets talk about why and what are the things I learned after 3 years of riding an EUC!

I agree. I own the S18. The trade off between weight, range and suspension is just right for my needs. I can see why some people would prefer the V11 - both wheels are great for convenience, comfort and everyday use so it comes down to personal preference on the finer details.

I owned a V11 and bought an S18 and the V11 dunks hard on the S18. S18 braking is oddly loud (mudguard rattles) and the whole package is just worse.... but my V11 fried a board

S18 Molicel. Does everything I need as an inner city commuter. Light enough to carry up a flight of stairs if the situation arrises, good and easy to work on suspension, great headlight, reliable, and safe. It's also fun to hop curbs and it's quite fun to take off-road when I take the long way home.

My commuter through Paris is a begode master. I ride 30km round trip, and the master is faster than anything in Paris. When I'm riding very hard, I can cover 15km in about 20mins. If you know Paris, you know that involves frequent 70-75 km/h cruises until you are forced to stop at some traffic light that you should, under no circumstances,skip... I'm 84kgs, so the 37kgs of the master are not too awful to take up a flight of stairs. I commuted the same journey with an MS3S+ 84v (yep, just before the MSX), which I liked very much, the V12 HS and the Sherman Max. The master is much faster for me because the suspension gives me peace of mind when going up the famous Sébastopol Boulevard and its awful potholes that can comfortably fit a 16" tire. For that, I might go to the Sherman S later on, I'm just afraid it isn't torquey enough: I routinely overtorqued the Sherman Max, and I sometimes overtorque the Master under hard braking (but never managed to do it when accelerating).

The KS S18 has a good range for the city (at least for the distance I travel), excellent suspension so speed bumps, potholes, railroad tracks, etc. are not a worry, it has a decent beam, and it is light enough to carry it up and down the stairs of the subway, buses, department and office. It is the lightest performing suspension EUC.

I believe I need a Begode Master. I've climbed the rungs of the EUC ladder from the very bottom with the KS14D with top speed of 18mph and a range of maybe 15 miles. On good days. Quickly outgrew that and upgraded to the KS16S with its 22mph. Needed more so I went for the KS18XL at 31mph! Very cool dependable wheel but i found that I pushed the beeps all too often and I wanted suspension, and it was years past all the bearing issues so I got the Inmotion V11, thinking that little extra speed was all I wanted out of these devices.. currently still riding my v11, always pushing to it's beeps. I need more!!! And little increments of speed increase will no longer do. I need a big leap in head room! 37 just won't do. 43 sounds great but what if it just leaves me wanting more?? Master. You are the answer. And I love love LOVE seated riding now thanks to the V11. I hear the master is a great seater.

Great points Hsiang 👍🏾. I have personally owned all three of those wheels, including the Sherman S which I am riding now. The only thing I would say is the lower tier V8, I would probably swap out for the 16X, because the tire is wider and easier to learn on and it has a seat. It’s a great wheel but it was a little harder for me to learn on the V8 with that thinner tire. (I know the 16 X is a little more expensive.)
@alexanderdmitrov4048
@alexanderdmitrov4048 Год назад
As a former owner of V8F and current owner of 16x I'll respectfully disagree. V8 is super easy to learn, and even easier to ride. 16x is prone to tramtracking and stuff, and while cushier tire does have it's benefits, at the 20-30kph speeds of V8F proper tire pressure does the job sufficiently enough. Add a significantly heavier weight (+10kg on 16x). Don't get me wrong, both are amazing, and can be picked by a new rider, it's just they are not that comparable.
@ThaBlackCobra
@ThaBlackCobra Год назад
@@alexanderdmitrov4048 Yes they are both really good wheels I just believe a new rider would be better served by the 16x and be able to use it longer. I outgrew my V8 in exactly one week. But again this is all just my opinion... 😄

A commute to work, so having a charger at work is not going to be a problem for most. That would put the S18 firmly in the picture. I have an S18 and even though I have a 16X and a Master the S18 would be my wheel of choice for this application .

Great video. I commute with a V8S and as much as I want to upgrade to suspension, more speed, and more range I haven’t yet for two main reasons. First, my commute is mostly on a coach bus which has much less room for personal items than a city bus or other transit. But the V8 without any pads or bulky accessories is easy to accommodate even when the bus is crowded. Second is the roads I ride on after the bus, they are mostly low speed and not crowded with cars. For about 80% of the ride there is almost no chance of being overtaken by a car. Sometimes I only ride the bike paths. So I haven’t been too eager to spend $2k ish on an upgrade with something that is mostly satisfactory. When I started riding I probably would have gone for an S18 or V12 if either had been available. Those are still the main competitors for the next $$$ I invest in my commute. Great vid: sharing

Same as above….I started on the V8f, and after 2000 kms bought a V12HT. I like both, but the V8 is a keeper..it so practical, user friendly and just great for running errands. The V12 surprised me because it was so different..It’s very top heavy and tippy design made the transition difficult, for some reason I found mounting it very difficult compared to the V8.. Eventually I got the hang of it, and it’s a nice ride…but the V8 is always in the car, just in case…The V12..i make a conscious decision to ride..at 31kgs it really is borderline micro mobility.

one year ago the sherman max was the powerful big and heavy wheel of choise. but now, just 1 year later, its becoming the happy medium :D the perfect balance between size, weight, power, speed, range, safety and price. with so many HUGE new suspension wheels, i think more and more people are gonna realize that :D and with the big batteries most people wont have to charge everyday, basically cutting the battery cycles in half compared to smaller battery wheel. and with batteries only capable of x amount of charges before it loses range, that makes the sherman live 6 years instead of 3... in theory ;D im gonna enjoy the sherman max for my daily commute for years to come, thats for sure. its gonna be hard, even in the future, to find a new wheel with this size, weight, range and overall balance in features with suspension. the new veteran patton weighs about the same but has a much smaller battery, but it might be the closest thing coming up.

2 months ago I had a dilema which wheel to choose as a daily commuter. I wanted it to be light with speed up to 40 km/h. I narrow my search to three wheels : s18, V11, and 18XL. Finally, I decided to go with 18Xl as the most reliable wheel, which is a key feature cause i have only one EUC. I have done a 1000 km during that period, and I'm very happy with 18XL. I do not mind the absence of suspension and a lack of seats, although I know that it is possible to buy one but I do not feel I really need it.

Yes it can get up to 35mph (55kph) but the speed seems to dip pretty quickly as the battery gets lower. I'm looking at the Sherman S as an upgrade for next summer and am curious how far it can sustain 35mph with occasional steps into 45mph (for when there is no trail and the road speed gets that high)

I've been using a scooter as my main vehicle since COVID, but the other day I saw an EUC learning video and discovered that they aren't completely auto-balancing as I had previously thought. The challenge immediately struck me, and I'm now saving up for an InMotion V11 per your suggestion. I typically ride my scooter in the 25-35mph range and I tend to ride about 20 miles a day, so the InMotion 11 seems to be a good fit for me. One question I have as someone who has never ridden an EUC before is what happens when you reach your maximum speed? I know that the EUC balances itself by speeding up / slowing down, but if you are at the top end of the speed range how does the EUC keep you from falling forward? If the answer is that it can't, then is there a guideline on how much I should limit the speed under the maximum to ensure that even on low battery I am still not going to eat pavement when I reach the top of my artificial limit?

Hey man, love your videos! However every time I see you wearing that helmet on high powered wheels I die a little inside. That's a ski helmet with a slalom face guard meant to block plastic ski race gates from smacking competitors in the face. It won't do anything to protect your face in case of impact with pavement because that's not what it was designed for, if anything it'll choke you with the chin strap and force your neck backwards (source: I did competitive skiing for 10+ years). Perhaps you knew this already, but a proper mtb or moto helmet would serve you much better! Not trying to criticize or anything, just want to see you be safe out there :)

I have an Inmotion V11 for 2 years and I made 11 thousand km with it. Our love ended because my average speed constantly raised in the last two years (above 32 km/h moving average I think the Inmotion V11 starts to be a little bit scratchy, but I still think that is the best option for commute) My next wheel will be a Sherman S I ordered it one week ago after a lot of thinking what I need. The 55 km top speed of the V11 would be almost enough for me in the future but i need more range and more headroom

I think the weight is sort of inevitable because of its magnesium construction, and honestly I didn’t mind it too much myself since it only becomes a problem in very specific situation (like lifting into a car trunk) I think it has great potential for a commuter wheel since it should have enough range and be comfortable ride. Excellent video. As a die-hard e-scooter rider, I HAVE contemplated an EUC. I’ve watched SO MANY videos on the mechanics of mounting/riding EUCs that I feel, intellectually, that I can deal with MOST of the physical “moves” necessary to a wheel. The ONE physical thing, however, that I did NOT have intellectual (visual) info on, was exactly HOW the power pads interacted with leg contact. Bro, you are the first to show video of this. I knew the theory behind it, but the video, not only “locked it down” for me, but IF I DO give in and buy a EUC, it’s just one more thing that I can set up, accurately, to take one more thing out of the learning curve. Thanks, again

People should forget about any and all non-suspension models outside of special sports-like events. Commuting is a chore, and should be made as comfortable as possible. ShermanS is too heavy. Veteran/LeaperKim announced "lighter" model Patton which is 16" suspension wheel and it weighs almost as much as its big brother.. They simply don't have a clue it seems. At the moment v11 is the best pick. v11 goes through everything - snowstorm, downpour, mud, sleet, salted slush. Can be washed in the shower. Does not care for bumps, rolls up on curbs with no actual jumping needed. Slim to fit behind a door. Not really heavy, but comfortably tall with always ready hard handle (unlike "press something to pop a flimsy handle up" models). Cons: Needs bit more speed to keep up with the car traffic and not be annoyance to them (if your country allows for EUCs on car lanes at all, that is). Needs monthly checks for air pressure in suspension, the pump is included. Takes whole fckin 10 minutes. Desperately needs much better mudguards. There are easy to print and very easy to install community models, but that makes it an aftermarket hassle.

Thank you for your first paragraph. I totally agree. Do you know what cells are used in V11: LG or Samsung? I think, Inmotion uses LG cells in all their wheels to cut the manufacturing prices and increase the profit in detriment of reliability and longer lasting of the wheel. (in detriment of the client)
@Laenthal
@Laenthal Год назад
@@danmano478 i don't know since i'm not a service-man. However the talks in the chats mentioned that there were different cells over time, depending on batch. There's a bad thing going on right now with the newest software updates - numerous people reported that an abolutely fine wheel got locked for seemingly no reason requiring you to bring it to the service. I did not encountered that yet.
@danmano478
@danmano478 Год назад
@@Laenthal Yes, I read about that on Inmotion app messages. I don’t know if this is the case for other manufacturers too. I would have liked a V12 with reliable Samsung cells. I think most of the latest (after motherboard replacement) reported V12 HS/HT problems are related to some poor battery cells. If it is only the software, this could be fixed, if there are battery cells involved, then better do not buy. I’m still waiting for a reliable, waterproofed, resistant to shocks (like V12), max. 30kg wheel with Samsung cells and no unnecessary and added weight suspension complications. Unfortunately Gotway->Veteran produces only heavy wheels.

no Kingsong 18xl? The reliable and time tested option (it rode around the world, check M. Flex) No v12 HT Either? both better picks then v11, more battery, great quality, less weight/complication due to no wanna-be suspension. that's what I have (plus Sherman Og 2dn batch) Cheers

@@milordas Maybe KS18XL hasn’t enough torque/acceleration for streets? I’m looking at this wheel, but this is what I fear. The OP mentioned also V12HT, which is an Inmotion so…, maybe not a valid conclusion. For me though, V12 HS/HT doesn’t present sufficient reliability with its LG cells. I want something reliable, waterproofed with Samsung cells under 30kg, no matter suspension. It doesn’t exist, except less torquier KS18XL.

V8F has horrible weak motor axle, please do not buy it. Buy Begode Tesla T3 instead. Also very small and quite light wheel. Hollow motor with 2000W is very solid, and the fun is incredible - the acceleration and breaking is amazing. 1500Wh battery can carry you longer that V11, because narrow tire is much more efficient. I have T3 for shorter fun rides with plenty of range if needed. For longer commuting is my V12HT, it is more lazy than T3, but the comfort is much better and still it is pretty sporty wheel :).

Bollox! The V8 f is fine..I’ve had zero problems with mine, and I rode it in pretty hilly country. To get back home I have to ride up my access road which is 1kms, and has a rise of 100 metres..I weigh 82 kgs..it’s absolutely no problem! For me, weight was one of the most important factors for my car wheel!

Also…a good expression you use for the V12HT..it is more ..Lazy…. A nice ride, but it’s no where near as spritely as the V8 at lower speeds. In fact, My biggest problem with the V12was mounting it to start with..I’d get on, but then have a problem getting it to accelerate away easily! It did take a while to get used to!
