Thanks man, just got 37, it's awesome, no latency or issues at all, just plug it in and works amazing. Image line are awesome, and thanks heaps for this tutorial!!!
Excellent overview video. It really helps me to understand the functions of my new FL Key 37, since the owners manual is not the best Thank you for this excellent video 😀🎵
Fucking awesome dude. Thanks! I was considering the 49 or 61, but the 37's pad placement and centered controls make me think it would be easier to focus straight across what I'm working with. And after trying to get an M-Wave SMK25 to work with FLStudio, I think the auto integration is exactly what I'm looking for. So much good info. For me, 25 keys isn't enough, 61 takes up a lot of space and still isn't a full 88 keys, and not all my songs are going to have extended arpeggios like in something from Final Fantasy.. but have you found yourself running into space limits when passing over hands, or is there an octave changer and a way to set it to a foot pedal?
Navigation Mode - ([...] Button) How do I use the navigation to browse samples and presets? From the manual The navigation keys are useful for stepping through samples in the Browser and pressing Enter (the green pad) to load your sample to the Channel Rack.
Excellent video, I just picked up FL Keys 49 this weekend, after watching video. What's the glowing colorful glass vase, on your table called? Thanks for sharing...
Sir me ek chiz se parisan hu midi ko dhere se dabaya to kam sound jor se dabaya to jyada sound aata hai isko kaise thik kare plz batao sab barabar sound aana chahiye sir plz
" Just because no track would be self respected without vocal over the top "........ whaaaaaaat ? Are you just a little in music production man ? Very good video and tutorial by the way i really enjoyed it and it helped me a lot.
How well does the mini work with third party plugins? Can i at the very least take advantage of the pitch and velocity wheel and also play the notes out on the keys without any delay or worry?
@@Sour_SkunK i heard they done a update where third party plugins have much better controls is this true and what controls? Do the faders work in third party plugins? Also plz like this comment because it’s the only way I’ll get a notification
Wondering a few things- 1. What's the max number of keys you can use in the fixed/user chords. The manual doesn't say, but the example uses 3, and everyone I see showing this feature only does triads too. Can you do larger 2 handed chords with your own voicings? 2. Is it possible to control more than just the first 8 of whatever (channels, tracks, etc) with the knobs? Like can you shift it down/over to control the next block of 8 or something? I know it has buttons to move one by one through the channel rack or mixer track, but I'm guessing that by itself doesn't change what the knobs are mapped to. If you can only control the first 8 without diving into custom settings and having to manually switch between them etc it sounds cool but not that useful. A lot of times most of my first 8 channels/tracks will be mostly drums/perc stuff and I'm barely getting into the other sounds
Hey, I know its a little late, but incase you haven't found the answer yet. 1. I just tested it out, I pressed 10 different keys over 2 octaves and recorded all of them. So you can use this with a lot more than just triads. 2. Yes, you can control more than just the first 8. When using the mixer, you have the mixer left and right buttons at the top which allow you to scroll through the different tracks you have on your mixer. So if I were to press the mixer right button, I would go from controlling tracks 1-8 to controlling tracks 9-16. This works the same for the channel rack. Obviously, you can't control more than 8 tracks/channels at a time, but you are NOT limited to controlling only the first 8. This doesn't work for plugins though. In plugins you are limited only to the first 8. You also cant control 3rd party plugins like Serum or Massive unless you map them out yourself using the Custom pot mode. Hope this helps :)
@@vangeltone8115yo you can use the plugin mode with 3rd party plugins without mapping them yourself, if someone else mapped them beforehand that is haha there is a post in the image line forum where you can download a file with custom mappings for the FLkey for many well known plugins like 200 if i remember correctly but might have to watch a youtube video where to put the file I think the post was by rd3d2 and called something like "huzzah! complete support for third party plugins for flkey" something along those lines, you'll probably find it by searching for him he also linked a youtube video where to put the file
Hi, I have a question. For some reason if I hit record and then play, whatever I play does not get put into the channel rack. Am I doing something wrong?
The FLKEY LED is divided into blue and pink, and no matter which key you press, the sound will only be the same. Why is that? When I plug in the drum in FLstudio, it is colorless and does not get colored.
Do I need an adapter of sorts to connect the FLkey37 to my MacBook Pro m1? The cord that comes with it is not compatible with the usb c ports on my MacBook. What do I need?
Stupid question: How do you make an arpeggio at 6:58 ? I couldn't get it to work... does it have to be a specific pack for this or does it work with any pack? When I hit the keyboard, it just plays the notes as usual...
I am so pissed off, i bought this keyboard used and nothing shows up like in the video. When i press shift i the channel rack doesnt light up and isnt selectable.
I am trying to figure out why when I use not repeat, it just randomly changes speed, like it follows no set pattern. I haveit at 1/16th,, but its more like .. .. ... .... .. ... ... .... . Like its not consistent at all
I bought the 37 key one ($200 at GuitarCenter) and did not realise you need at least the Fruity edition of FL ($99) for this to truly be plug & play. But if you want to record audio you need the Producer edition ($200)...so basically I would need twice as much as I had planned.... I will be returning mine not just cause of the added cost but moreso bc 37 keys is not enough for me personally. The construction and overall quality of the controller is very nice IMO, although this is the first midi controller I've ever purchased so take that for what it's worth.
Couple things worth noting. While it *does* seemingly cost you twice as much, FL does come with free lifetime updates whereas other DAWs will require a new purchase every major update. It IS designed for FL, but when you register it, it'll come with 6 months of the producer edition (the $200 version) for free..BUT If you like the controller itself and would prefer Ableton etc as your DAW, there is the near same exact Novation Launchkey, but you might wanna check out the Arturia Keylab 49 as well in the price range.
@@AggroNoobs yep I exchanged it today for the Launchkey 61 which comes with Ableton Live Lite. So far I love having 61 vs 37 keys, but the sounds in Ableton Lite sound terrible. But I guess that's an easy fix of just finding another cheap DAW. More comparisons: The drum pads on the FLkey have a slight edge as they seem more premium and are slightly larger. I'm still learning all the different settings, but the FLkey had a note repeat button whereas the Launchkey has an arpeggiator (I guess it does the same thing more or less). Lastly of course the Launchkey has faders as well. Update: I take back what I said about the sounds being terrible, I just didn't know about all the different adjustments you could make to the tone, attack, dry/wet, etc you could do. Also I see why ppl say they prefer controllers with infinite dials/pots bc when switching between instruments the mapped controls to effects and what not will snap to the current position of the pots that you had them in for the last track if you try to adjust them.
I bought the keyboard yesterday and couldn’t use it properly cus I only had FL studio 12.. So yea to upgrade will cost me more I will return mines tomorrow and stick with what I got already 🤷🏿
Looks like the audio timing from pressing the pads and keys is accurate/instant for you, but with my setup the audio is delayed. Any ideas for fixing this? Thanks.
Can you not control third party VST with it? Ok just got to that statement in the vid, was literally about a to order one of these before hearing that… I wonder if they’ll add it in later with an update!
My shift button doesn’t work anymore. It only highlights scale chord, user chord and custom. And my play stop record doesn’t work anymore. Not sure what happened but it was working good before. Please help someone
Unfortunately, I have the same problem (since I connected another midi keyboard). I've been looking for a solution for hours now. Maybe you need to update FL Studio?!
@@Lord_K_Original I got in touch with someone from Novation, the only solution I had was to uninstall and reinstall FL studio. You won’t lose anything since everything already saved to the computer/SD.
Broooo do any of you use this !!!! Quit teaching when you don’t know wtf is going on!!! U cannot just hit the red record button and it fills in!!!!!!!!!! There’s like 6 diff options ahead of this….. I’m really trying to learn bro
Too many buttons to press. They made it too complicated, I think I can navigate quicker with my mouse...🤷 You need a damn the whole cheat sheet on your wall before you can use it.
