My god that’s completely false @0:14! Why do people push this myth? The people in the south of Spain descend from people from the north, as the Iberians reconquered the peninsula they settled northern Iberians south. Andalusians have no more “Arab” blood than anywhere else in Spain 0-2%.
@user-xb8il5cg2c

Right. Lots of christians run from the invaders and mixed in the small christian kingdoms in the north. Centuries later they returned to settle the recovered land as homogeneus people.
@Ragis
@Ragis 2 месяца назад
Correct. In addition, the largest DNA variation in Iberia happens East to West, with western Andalusians being more similar to the Extremadurans and Leonese than to Eastern Andalusians. This happened as the re-colonization during the Reconquista followed a North-South pattern. There is, however an ancestral genetic connection between Iberia and North Africa, but this ultimately means more that Moroccans are partly Iberians than the other way around.

He makes it sound like Spaniards are more closely related to Middle Eastern people with a small amount of northern European DNA. I feel like he's totally disregarding the Sardinian component from the Earlier European Farmers and he's emphasizing the 5% of Morrish DNA found in the Spanish genome, which by the way does not represent individuals, it represents the entirety of the population, so there are individuals without any significant portion of Morrish DNA. They might have a half a percentage but I feel like he's emphasizing the Mediterranean component. In fact Spaniards and Portuguese tender cluster between Sardinians and French people, also a unique population is the basques, but I feel like this was a lesson in how they are not Western Europeans when in fact they are probably the most Western Europeans lol
@user-xb8il5cg2c
@user-xb8il5cg2c Месяц назад
@@Matthew4Justice right. In fact, the iberian peninsula is the second european country with more celtic ancestry after the british islands. And the iberians are said to be descendants of the people that arrived here from the east of Europe. White people with dark hair, not as tall and athletic as the germanics. I read one day that the people from Sardinia are the pure descendants of that people. And 5% of northafrican dna is too high. It is much much lower.

Modern Spanish culture has its origins in the Romanized Visigothic culture there are a lot of lies told about Spain because people don't know the history of the North African moors who were expelled. Spain is one of the only countries in Europe that had to put up a fight to remain European and Christian.

I love your videos. However, I have a request. I am Egyptian and I loved the video that you made about Egypt. I would love and appreciate if you made a long video about the Egyptian race/ ethnicity. There is a systematic attack on Egyptians where African Americans accuse us (Egyptians) of stealing their land and that we are invaders and intruders and that our civilization does not belong to us. This is all fueled by the Afrocentric ideology and the pseudo-historians like (Cheikh Anta Diop). This ideology clams that all of the North African civilizations belongs to the Blacks (the sub-Saharan Africans). They claim that we are not Africans because we do not fit to the sub-Saharan facial features. Jada Pinket smith who is an afrocentrist made a movie depicting Cleopatra as African with sub-Saharan features. African Americans see the world in such binary view. Egyptians are not white and not sub-Saharan black either. Even Egyptians with the darkest of tones don't share the same facial features with sub-Saharan Africans. There is a spectrum of skin tones in Egypt that ranges from Mediterranean light skin to champagne and olive skin tones to that reddish brown (that was depicted on the temples) to the dark brown. My father was brown (and can be considered as black in the American eyes) and my mother is light skinned like the Mediterranean people. The sad reality is that the Afrocentric movement is claiming all the North African civilizations to be black. Not just Egypt. Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria and Morrocco are black civilizations. And the people who live in those counties now are thieves and intruders. This Ideology spread like wildfire by those fake historians and a lot of African Americans and Sub-Saharan west Africans now believe in it. It's insane. They claim that we pushed them out of the country and that the whole ancient Egyptian civilization is not ours. It would be great if you made a video about Afrocentrism and this topic. Thanks again for your videos. Wish you the best.

There is not a 10% admixture with north Africans: about 5% of the Spanish male lineages have north African origin, but that doesn't equate to 5% north African DNA either (which could be almost nil in fact, since less common DNA tends to dissapear after several generations). You are going to find more Iberian ancestry in north Africa than north African ancestry in Spain as well, because Iberian Muslims fled or were expelled to north Africa during and after the reconquista. Btw, Andalusians have LESS north African male y-haplogroups than Galicia, a region that after the Canaries has the higher percentage in Spain. There is nothing you can call "Celtic" DNA either, the Indo-European invasion of Spain predates that non existent "Celtic" migration you cited by two thousand years. The Spanish DNA is basically Basques (Neolithic 45%, Indo-European 40%, hunter gatherer 15%) plus a little of Mediterranean admixture (mainly Italian). Other migrations didn't affect the whole DNA makeup of the Spanish very much. And lastly, you have to take in consideration PHENOTYPES in order to understand how populations appearance varies in different latitudes, it's not just DNA.
@goodaimshield1115
@goodaimshield1115 Год назад
The North African admixture seems to be rather 5/6%, that's true. Actually, the highest average is in Galicia at 11%, so 10% is indeed higher than the actual average. But maybe he's counting Canarians in there, which usually are excluded when it comes to Peninsular Spaniard dna for obvious reasons.

You can see some evidence on this online the slavs carry haplogroup r1a which is found in eastern europe mainly but is found in pockets throughout the iberian peninsula especially where the goths took refuge the most . I am Chicano (Mexican American) 55% Spaniard (Galician, Basque, Castilian, Andalusian, Valladolidian) and 40% Native American. The 5% is a mix of Irish, North African, Sardinian, Greek and Bantu African. On a more refined test, I had 4% North Caucasian connected to the Ossetian and Circassian people. However, I just count that as Spanish because the Alans (Iranian ancestors to Ossetians) settled and created a kingdom in Spain. Other than that, I’m a true product of the Spanish Empire and their mixing with Native American civilizations. I’ve traced lineages back on both sides to mid 1500s Mexico. My Haplogroup is YDNA G-L497. I do have a more refined Haplogroup, but for reasons of privacy I will not disclose. I understand that G are the Anatolian Neolithic Farmers. This goes to show that a lot of us fled to the Iberian peninsula upon the arrival of the Yamanaya people and their annihilation of the male populations throughout Europe.

No, Galicians do NOT have the highest MENA DNA. They don't have any whatsover and are a celtic people. Fantastic video, though I will say regarding DNA, we're unsure of the Gothic people. Genetically they were likely a separate group from what was to be referred to as Germania (which was a region inhabited by both Celtic and Germanic tribes, though both could be referred to as Germanic). There was some historical confusion that the Goths had originated in Sweden, but few credible scholars hold this position today. They originate in the east and were likely related to, or the descendants of Scythians.

I entered this video because I thought it would contain interesting information, but it didn't. Ignoring all the events derived from these migrations, conquests, wars and derived laws causes the data provided to lose considerable reliability. I have family in the South of Spain and we are talking about areas of thousands of square kilometers that were literally depopulated during the Reconquista, for example. If you want to find someone with African DNA, you should look for a recent immigrant. North African DNA? It's EXACTLY the other way around. It was first the Romans and then the Vandals who crossed the Straits to Africa. In addition to the centuries-long raids to kidnap Europeans on the coast of Spain, Portugal, Italy... In other words, it is in North Africa where there is a trace of European genetics.

Nope. That has been debunked and that is a false Internet rumor spread by resentful Andulucians and their deep dark brown descendants in Latin America from swarthy, conquistadors from 500 years ago.. Galacians were never conquered by Moors and they have zero Middle Eastern DNA like the rest of North Spain. South Spain has tons of Middle Eastern and that's why they look the way they do including their culture and music. That's why Galacians look very European, fair, light, little lipped. fine features and are often blonde and redheads similar to Swedes ...and in the South are so dark because they were conquered by Moors. The absurdity of what you're saying is almost like saying Canada is more Mexican than Texas. You're going to tell me that there's more Middle Eastern in Galicia that is nowhere near North Africa as opposed to Andalusia that's right there. No One believes that lie including scientists, historians, and academics. Pure internet hoax started by an Andalusian and dark Latin Americans from conquistadors from 500 years ago. Most men in the north look like Emilio Estevez not Petra Almodovar and Antonio Banderas from the south

Southern Europeans are not that related to North Africans. Like almost at all. Berbers during the Muslim conquest made up only like 1% if iberian population. Many of them moved back to North African after the reconquista alongside European white Muslims. Most southern Spanish people are Europeans with Greek and Sardinian components alongside other European groups. They are not Berber or Arab. The o oh reason why people think Spanish people specifically in andalusía are Arab or Berber is because it was once Muslim territory. Therefor they think people there are still Muslim or Berber when it’s not even when they conquered Spain. Most of the Muslim population 99.9% were white Iberian natives. They don’t even make 5% of the genome in Spain
