I find it deeply uncomfortable that Lisa ultimately marries Millhouse. He obsesses over her to an unhealthy degree, and it's pretty stomach churning that even in a farcical comedy like The Simpsons, someone as smart as Lisa wouldn't see those red flags.

Its just kind of creepy and depressing that the show effectively depicts one of its main characters ultimately settling into an unhappy marriage with her stalker.

I always thought this was because it was Marge's unfulfilled dream for herself. Lisa was more Marge than any of the kids--if it wasn't going to be Lisa, it wasn't going to be anyone. The whole "living through your kids" thing, but on the level of wishing her daughter had at least rhe potential for a different life than she had.

They did do a Heavenly Creatures parody, but that relationship was left ambiguous in the movie and we don't know if it was sexual in real life, even if it was obsessive, and I don't think Lisa and her new friend tried to kill Marge (if you haven't seen the movie, it's a true story from New Zealand about two teenage girls who become very close friends, and then her parents get worried and try to keep them apart, and the girls, in an attempt to stay together, murder one of their mothers - the real girls are still alive, but have changed their names and are legally forbidden to be in touch at all).

“Personally, I HATE that Lisa ends up with Milhouse.” Me: *literally screamed* “YESS SAME!” (I’ve always shipped Lisa with Nelson, I don’t know why, I just always think they’ll make such a cute couple.) But imagine this: Nelson finds out that Lisa’s been having a rough time in college. Getting picked on, stressing out while trying to do too much all at once. So he finds little ways to cheer her up, like helping her study, or doing chores for her.

Season 34 they have really amped up the Lisa/Nelson ship. In every version of them together she had a very positive influence on him and the episode When Nelson Met Lisa really highlighted this. If she were to end up w/someone from Springfield Nelson would be a much better match than Milhouse. I could see her as the town Dr. and him as the chief of police. Both would be better than those they replace.

Lisa should have ended up with Nelson instead of Milhouse Although that moment with her daughter when she realises how much she looks up to her was pretty nice That and Lisa’s first word still makes me happy cry, her relationship with Bart is really wonderful, the ending of the hockey episode is adorable Same as with Homer, their moments are some of the absolute best in the series! The saxophone, the truth about Jebediah Springfield, football days, it’s a near endless list And Marge saying that Lisa can be sad is so sweet, Marge and Lisa’s relationship is so underrated

To me Nelson’s a good guy as an adult. If you think about it, Nelson had like the worst childhood, but his true nature is tough but decent. I imagine as an adult, he’s successful, with blue collar roots. Like running garages or landscaping businesses. Oh…. and it’s funny that Milhouse is a loser even when he’s a muscle man.

Glad I’m not alone in hoping she never actually ends up with Milhouse. What they do with him in the future episodes just really put me off the character, he comes across as just kinda creepy. You could say the whole like mother like daughter getting trapped in marriage but at least homer has some good qualities and does try and do good by his family.

My interpretation is because Milhouse is easy to control and he's her safe option, considering her parents marriage. That doesn't mean she'd be happy with her marriage.

I think that Lisa claiming that she is "straight" in the non-college timeline, can be explained by the fact that she first begun experimenting with her sexuality in college. So because she never went to college, she never had the chance to experiment with her sexuality, and as such, never realised/admitted to herself the she is bi. That would also mean that in the timeline that she went to collage, she didn't became president. Alternatively, maybe she just never really came out of the closet, asside to her family. Or maybe she was afraid of losing more conservative voters, and just decided to not reveal her true sexuality while in office.

I used to be obsessed with the the idea of romance, and it took me a long time to realized I was Aromantic and only wanted to be in a relationship because I was cripplingly lonely. Headcanon: Millhouse dies before Lisa and she ends up with Nelson in her twilight years. Since we see Nelson really old laughing at Homer's gravestone we know that he lives a long time. Also by that time Nelson's kids from the previous relationships have grown up and so he doesn't have any reason to stay with that family anymore. This would also give him a reason to visit his grave- since he was his father in law, and might have died before they ultimately got together. Nelson ends up dying a few years before Lisa and since she's so heartbroken she hides away in the monastery for the rest of her life.

Her sexuality can easily be explained. You see ppl sometimes are unsure of their sexuality and when young they tend to explore their sexuality. Lisa probably thought she was bisexual but realized later that women weren't her taste. It's normal and ppl go through it all the time. My cousin thought she was straight almost all her life up until she was 18 and found she was bisexual. I even thought about my sexuality before and thought about dating girls at some point but women aren't my interest either. Anyways my point is this is probably why Lisa says she is straight because she explored her sexuality to find out who she likes and her identifying as straight tells me she left those relationships knowing herself a little more afterwards.

@@stevemarkell4684 What I explained gives the explanation of why she's not Bi. She wouldn't say she was straight if she was Bi. It wouldn't make sense. She dated girls then identifies as straight? It seems she ended up not liking girls after all. It makes sense.
