As a stalker veteran all I can say is, this was quite enjoyable to watch. And for people that haven't heard for stalker before world of zone was explained in best possible way.
I heard about it a while back because of a RU-vidr called rimmy down under gaming he did a arma op on stalker and then I saw that stalker 2 would be coming out soon and my best guess from the video is it’s kind of like metro but it’s in Chernobyl
@@archeacnos yes, stalker is much better than metro as I'm sure you will agree haha. On that note are there any other way to get an exoskeleton repair kit other than doing tech missions? And I can install servo motors for sprinting via exoskeleton repair kits? I already have 2x basic tools, 2x expert tools, basic, advanced and fine tuning servos but cannot install any of it without an exoskeleton repair kit. I seem to not be able to find any info on this🙈Hope you can help (vanilla anomaly)
I have one thing to say about STALKER. If you like fallout you will LOVE STALKER. I have easily over 11,000 hours in Fallout New Vegas but when I played shadow of Chernobyl for the first time well... That was 3 months ago and I haven't played fallout since.
Dude check out the Ashes series. It's a homemade doom wad and by geez it gives all these games a run for its money.. nevermind the fact it's for freeeeee.
One of the stalker devs had a relative who was a soviet genetic engineer, so he asked him to write small fanfic about what kind of mutant biology would be like. While it was not much effort was put into it, it was attempted somewhat to ground it on reality and was as detailed as describing "Pseudoflesh digestive system". Unfortunately while it dodnt make to the shelf game due to numerous changes in direction, it is still available to read in the leaked documents, and is quite entertaining.
RIP S.T.A.L.K.E.R game developer Volodymyr Ezhov - involved in the creation of Alexander (RTS/RPG from 2004), Cossacks 2 (RTS, 2005), Heroes of Annihilated Empires and STALKER: Clear Sky (2008) - has been killed in Ukraine Reportedly in Bakhmut 🥀🥀
A video covering the source material and inspiration of the STALKER series, such as Roadside Picnic and the few movies made about it would be cool to see.
To me the over all story was my own ... following the characters was just a glimpse under the vail but the journey to every stalker is amazing and bless to those who fell.
This is a great "all in one" video about the STALKER universe. I can't tell how much of it was accidental or intentional, but somehow GSC gave STALKER one the best lore in gaming
Man, as a man who loves nothing more than underground stories about scientific experiments and war, that video is at the top of what interests me, that's gold.
Bro, like I mean this whole heartedly… YOU make hands down the most quality lore videos of any game that I have ever seen, the editing, the voice over, the visuals, the intro, the script, and so much more is just perfect!! Thanks for caring for your content! 👍
Please, more of stalker! You did a wonderful job on this video and it will be my go-to first share when trying to introduce someone to the universe. Thanks, it's good to have you back :)
Bro, you make it seem completely real. Turn a somewhat possible, partially based on actual events, into a totally real feeling documentary! Kinda makes playing seem more real and significant. Thnx Bub! Love ur shit.
@@ledira8539 it's called having an imagination. And unless you're some kind of accredited scientist, you have no knowledge of whether these things can possibly happen or not. So your possibly uneducated opinion was never necessary. Let people enjoy their imaginations
I'm glad you're back man. Even if this channel doesn't become as big as you want it to be, the quality of your videos are outstanding. I Really enjoy y'alls work please don't stop!
It's very easy to look over the details of the story and the world when you're being shot by 20 guys and can't take more than two steps without being irradiated.
also gameplay wise gamma is not that different for other mods as you get a quest go out do some exploring along the way and complete the quest and after all would look for some stashes and hidden loot and you can any of this a your one pace the game is not forcing you to do any it in one way it's more like throwing in the world and telling you do whatever you want. and the quest line and side mission of gamma and mostly the same with anomaly so 90% copy and paste from the GO games. but if there's one gamma and anomaly do best is how much you can change your experience and this in my eyes is why you should look onto gamma or anomaly in general
Dude this was immensely enjoyable to watch. I learned a lot and after playing Stalker for all these years, It makes me love it even more. Great attention to detail!
Just sent this to the girlfriend who watched me play gamma for a while. She knows less than Jon Snow about the stalker universe and this was a nice little recap on the major events of the zone.
There's a lot of effort put into this but I can't help but notice a lot of misconception and mistakes being told here. Like the founding of freedom being in the army warehouses, or the zombie speaking english being a stalker when it was originally from the tourist group that got lost and other mistakes
i love your videos, but have trouble hearing your intros / you speaking when there are other sounds in the video. could you please work to make your audio mixing better, making sounds other than you speaking much quieter so i can still hear you :)
Agreed, the background and ambiant sounds are at a bit too high of a level. I have Dolby sound on my device so I can do a bit of minor mixing but still couldn't get it to a comfortable level so had to just lower it almost to nothing and use captions instead. 🤷🏼♀️
Fun fact the image at 1:01 is of an arginine plant in Rochester New York and the original Driving Park bridge (I know this because I literally live right by that building)
I here by want to compliment you for this great quality vid! From the chronologic events to the calm and slow storytelling to the great Stalker pictures (were did you even get those??) A job well done in my honest opinion. There are 2 more great Stalker channels on YT but I will add your one to that as well. Stay frosty Stalker! 👊
Quality content. I was just reading about Escape From Prypiat v4.0 that released barely 10 days ago, and was thinking of trying it. Your video definitely got me in the mood. can't wait for Stalker 2. My only hope is that all this Russia/Ukraine crap is over soon, and the devs can go back to focusing on it.
Hey man, try GAMMA. I played EFP 3.0 a while back and it was decent, but am currently doing a GAMMA playthrough and i love it so much more. Def recommend giving both a go tho
EFP is great, but it honestly doesnt compare to GAMMA. EFP feels like a big mashup of mods, while Gamma feels like a carefully curated experience using mods. Each has their own qualities though. If you just want to buy guns, armor etc, find tons of loot, get into tons of gunfights, and have an easier time progressing, EFP would be for you. If you want new guns to be more of a rewarding accomplishment, want to have to repair things to make them viable again, dont want to simply buy all your weapons etc but work to find them and repair them yourself, and have a longer lasting experience in which you work your way up the progression tree slowly but in a very rewarding way, GAMMA is for you. In gamma when I built my first gun (aside from my starting weapons) I was ecstatic. When I got my first set of tools, I was ecstatic. When i killed that Military member and got the gas mask and weapon i had been looking for for so long. When I finally repaired my first piece of good armor etc. In EFP, none of this really mattered too much, because I could just grind money and buy it all.
NBC hazmats in the game were later upgraded into CBRN hazmats and later still CBRNE armored exosuits, ukrainian factoriea near the zone produced these special equipment to handle some of the anomalies in the zone, but not all of the anomalies effects could be resisted, gravity or space-time based anomalies for example bypassed any personal protection measure implemented, easily killing stalkers that were too uparmored to run through fast enough and escape on momentum alone, this is why its not always smart to run with the heaviest armor in the zone. legend: NBC - is the nato designation for nuclear, biological, chemical CBRN - is the department of disease control and prevention's designation for chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear CBRNE - is the CDC + UNISG's designation for chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, explosive UNISG is a special taskforce of the United Nations formed by the USASF and USOF to study, contain, and protect the world from the zone. (lmao i almost did an SCP reference without thinking) USASF (formerly USSF until the united states space force stole that moniker) is the special forces of the us military. USOF is the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces, formerly an organization formed by the Russian GRU & KGB as a branch of the Spetsnaz, it now serves the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs and Ministry of Defense as an elite special forces group equivalent, separate fron the Security Service of Ukraine's Spetsnaz Alpha Group.
Awesome video!! Do you think Strelok will be in Stalker 2?? I feel like he has to be to complete the story. I guess we'll have to wait and see. I cannot wait to play stalker 2.
9:33 the only people who say the zone is growing is a few stalkers but if you ask some like Sakharov has been studying the Zone ever since the first research laboratories were set up on its perimeter in 2007, he out right Deneys it and does not believe it is growing
Great concept to make S.T.A.L.K.E.R video, I didn't exept it from you. Unfortunately as a stalker fan I could easly find a lot of mistakes and apposition you made. What is your source?
@@lou399 Yeah I guees thats it. Unfortunatly these days it's hard to find someone that does not play anything else then this mods. There are some underestimated small mods that are also cool.
There is some errors and hole here and there (notably about Freedom creation, wich was almost a year before they came to the Army Warhouse, or the complete Strelok adventure to the center of the Zone), but overall it's a good video/entry, with excellent naration, for newcomers in the Zone to better know the lore behind these 3 wanderful games.
The highly plausible theory is that C-con didn't had that much altruistic intentions- the Monolith did not build their equipment, or at least not most of it, so there is a big theory that C-Con already stocked on the experimental weaponary Monolith used after conversion to be under their orders. It was either a main plan or a "Plan B" if the first idea of touching the Noosphere wouldn't work, at least in my opinion. Ridding humanity off individuality, no matter how much problems said individuality causes, is not a solution, or at least not one that allows further positive progress- ridding a species off individuality will halt it's development as ideas and changes come from there being many creative people rather than one
This is amazing work. What would be nice to see is an example of how the book "roadside picnic" and "metro 2033" has it relevance and contributes to the story and you should definitely speculate on how the labs in the zone are involved and such. Well fucking done. Anyone with any imagination and skill could make this another best selling novel close to that of metro 2033.
Stalker is the game that made me curious about Ukraine in 2006. I had a friend who were so excited about a game that was going to come out were you supposedly Roamed Chernobyl and hunted radioactive monsters. Learning that Chernobyl were in Ukraine and getting a desire to visit - now I've been to Ukraine several times and have good friends there - but haven't played S.T.A.L.K.E.R. yet - maybe it's time?! Edit: After watching this video I see how this game has to some degree been inspired by the movie Stalker (Сталкер).
The games take a lot from Tarkovsky's 1979 Stalker film (inspired itself by Roadside Picnic). The physical features of Strelok/The Marked One bears a lot of resemblance to Alexander Kaidanovsky who played the titular "Stalker" in the film. It's a beautifully shot and contemplative film. Very slow by modern standards but definitely worth a watch if you're a fan of the games.
Just got stalker: gamma because of the tactical gunplay, but my GOD the way it does “Magic” is some of, if not THE coolest shit I have ever seen in an video game!
@@crunchyroach7613 I'm using psy stress addon with Aszrais overhauls for the controller and burer. Psy stress causes a constant drain on your psy energy to simulate the stress of being in a hazardous environment. Your character goes through stage 1, stage 2 and then goes crazy and starts hearing voices. The drain is increased if you get wounded or irradiated. The controller overhaul gives controllers minions and allows them to jam your weapons and posess your companions. If they get you enough times with the psy attack, they can force you to pull your pistol out and shoot yourself.
THX so much. It Immers me even deeper in the Game with such a great and Atmospheric Lore Story. Also would recommend Hbo series Chernobyl if you dont want to leave the Zone after Gaming
This one is a good starter. If anyone of you would like to delve further, I highly recommend Anomalous Dugout's version of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R Timeline as he puts possibles and even more focus on the story itself
Lets be perfectly clear for any new people coming to stalker, strelok is the clear antagonist of the entire story even if he thinks hes the good guy, hes essentially the same as shinji ikari from Neon Genesis Evangelion, being an immature self righteous brat that thinks he can save the world and only accelerate its eternal damnation instead. By killing the C-Consciousness the Noosphere is now left wild and rampant without any way to reverse its effects, where the zone only grew by 5 to 10 miles every emission and each emission before was very rare, now emissions happen every 24 to 36 hours, in only a few years the zone has expanded far beyond the original CNPP exclusion zone borders and penetrated deeply into belarus and is only a few miles from the Ukrainian Capital of Kyiv, completely consuming the partially abandoned city of Chornobyl Oblast (83.2km north from the edge of Kyiv) and its surrounding rural areas, and forcing the Ukrainian Military to retreat further away from the CNPP to possibly the town of Katzyuhanka (28km northwest from the edge of Kyiv). Its also quite possible that the C-consciousness is still alive in a way since consciousness is a concept that cannot be destroyed, like energy, and may still linger in a lucid trance within the noosphere, likely with a resentment against strelok for destroying their dreams of a world without fear of war. some people call strelok a legend without knowing anything about what really happened in the CNPP, while those who know either avoid him or justifiably hate his guts for dooming the world with his carelessly vain attempt at trying to solve all of the worlds problems with nothing more than a half cooked brain and an AK74.
I think the cause of the event would be that there was some pockets of the molten nuclear fuel from reactor No.4 to leak into the basement below still filled with rain water. Either from snowfall or a passing rainstorm might have refilled the basement an the molten fuel came into contact with the water created a giant explosion equivalent to a gigantic atomic bomb an wiping out half of Europe. The HBO series Chernobyl stated that if the water was not drained from the basement during when the nuclear fuel was still burning it would cause a explosion equivalent to a gigantic 4 megaton atom bomb an this was a shared secret from the West and Soviet Union for 20 years after the disaster at Chernobyl.
I don't know why the Chernobyl meltdown would have been any real concern to those nearby scientists, if you're working in a shady secret buried Soviet bio-weapon facility you already know you're going to die horribly anyway xD
I am a new stalker fan and I had a little question that maybe ya'll could answer, isn't it a bit weird that the rest of the world is kinda like chilling while a completely insane event is going on in Ukraine? like, at what point does nobody even know what's going on in the exclusion zone? Shouldn't like the entire focus of humanity be in this supernatural phenomenon, I'd imagine in our world it would probably the biggest even in our history.
Well, according to the lore some countries launched a couple of expeditions but they all died because of all the shit Zone threw at them, so it seems inefficient to the governments. And they have to rely on private contractors to do all the work. As CoP shows even after 30+ years goverment didn't know about air anomalies. So yeah
I only play two Games on my Pc and love to Immerse myself in it. Tarkov and Stalker and for both you have a excellent Lore Story that is in the back of my mind every time I player either. THX
could you maybe make a video on games similar to stalker or fan projects around it?? seeing some attention to the stalker community would be hugely appreciated
Dude ...this has got me so stoked for stalker 2...fucking amazing video bro 10/10. Im gonna read the book now, this is fuckin brilliant, this should be a well thought put and expensive TV series
3:22 little did they know that the term liquidators would be sadly fitting as sadly been exposed to that level of radiation would basically liquidate their insides, if they were lucky they wouldn’t live to see their body’s rotting before their eyes.
