The Complete Splatoon Lore Timeline

I find it hilarious how the Octarians show up in the city and the printer instantly decides to throw them into a Race War

The most important piece of information I got from this video was Pearl being older than Marina

Two things you forgot to mention. 1. The reason why DJ Octavio stays in his octo form is to conserve ink. Inklings and Octolings, as they get older, have a harder and harder time producing their own ink. However, you can slow this process down by just staying in your squid/octo form respectively. This is most likely why, despite both Octavio and Cuttlefish assumingly being the same age, Octavio is able to make his own ink and move around a lot easier compared to Cuttlefish. However, there is not any evidence that states that this is the case, but rather assumptions/theories made by the fans based off of what they see, so take that if you will. 2. It's theorized that Lil Judd is running Grizco after the events of Alterna. One piece of evidence is that Lil Judd gets an earpiece after you beat the main story of Splatoon 3 and the bear eating a fish statue is replaced by a fish eating a bear. Another piece of evidence is actually within TableTurf. You can actually battle Lil Judd if you reach a high enough level, and once you do, his deck is EXCLUSIVELY just Salmonid cards, possibly hinting that Judd is involved with the Salmonids to some degree. Maybe through Grizzco?

Splatoon Lore is really dark but really deep. It's part of the reason why I love the series.

2:36 correction: the lone bear was not the only animal upon the ark polaris. there were many species from earth, intended to reestablish earth’s ecosystem and variety elsewhere. it’s just that the bear was the only survivor. also why else would Grizz be Bear #03

I think the Callie vs Marie splatfest could be explained by them hearing Calimari but interpreting it as Callie Marie

Just recently they confirmed in an interview that DJ Octavio can't change forms because of an injury he's got, which follows through with Cuttlefish stuck like that after story mode, it seems if you're hurt bad enough to revert to conserve yourself

Gotta say the octo expansion part was the best one All jokes aside, this was so epic to make and everyone did amazing

It's actually really interesting how Nintendo actually used humans history of evolution for the Inklings and Octolings. Since fish were the first animals developing a spine millions of years ago, they are the ancestors of all animals who have a spine to this day. And just like us land mammals and humans, we can't stay in water for too long either. 12 hours is already enough to start damaging our skin and lose it's elastic purpose. So it's actually cool to see how Inklings and Octolings have the same issue but then much faster

I hope you understand that the alarm at like 17:50 made me check which one of my alarms was going off because all of them use that sound. Also “I’m not using a funny meme to depict racial relations breaking down” was indeed a thing to see for sure. I agree with it, but it was wild to see nonetheless in a funny squid game lore video.

18:07 “Her office informed Marie that Callie left the office flustered.” So we do know that Callie joined octaveo willingly, but I wonder what he said to convince Callie to join him, and at what point exactly did it go from consenting to hypnosis.

as someone who was gifted splatoon 3, and never knew what happened in 1 and 2, this video was like an explosion in my brain. It was also the funniest fucking thing i’ve ever seen . You put a lotta effort into this video . Freakin Loved it .

9:31 So Captain Cuttlefish and DJ Octavio are really old, right? I remember hearing something about how old Inklings get stuck in one of their forms, which is why we only see Captain Cuttlefish in his human form. Maybe it’s the same for Octolings, and DJ Octavio choose to stay in bis Octopus form.

Anyone else felt emotional watching this. These 8 years went by so fast for these 3 splatoon games.

Honestly it’s insane how much lore this game has. There are so many little details I never would’ve caught that all add up.

My theory for why Callie and Marie is the last splatfest in Splatoon is because in a sunken scroll you see the skeletal remains of human with their Wii U and a plain disc (most likely supposed to be Splatoon) which means that the Splatoon game actually exists in that timeline, and that’s why the printer printed out Callie and Marie. Theory 2 is that the printer just printed out some models that coincidentally had Callie and Marie’s names.

I have a theory of how/why the Splatfest fax machine “receives signals transmitted to earth” Ark Polaris was part of a series of spaceships designed to save humanity and sustain it until a new habitable planet was found. The fax machine was originally built to establish long distance communication with human survivors in alterna and the underground domes. Ark Polaris was the last one to launch from earth, and due to technical issues in the Outer solar system it had to return to earth to repair, but it’s propulsion mechanism stopped working before Polaris reentered Earth(it doesn’t make sense that a spaceship that had to travel for more than 4 light years would Tun out of fuel so soon unless the fuel tanks were damaged). The surviving human ships found a habitable planet not too far away from the solar system(might even be as “close” as the Alpha centauri system) and after a few hundred years, have recovered to a point where extinction isn’t a threat anymore. At this point, an attempt was made to communicate with the survivors on earth through the fax machine, however, no response is received, so the human survivors on the new planet create a probe and send it to earth to find any human survivors, ofc the probe returns with evidence of humanity’s demise on earth. So the humans begin constructing a series of “stealth” probes to monitor the earth to document any future evolution of the earth. Achieving fast communication over such distances takes a few decades. But the probes are finally placed around earth. The human survivors spend the next few thousand years terraforming their new planet to make it fully habitable, constructing a Dyson swarm to prevent any energy issues and thus prevent more wars, and mastering space travel. Throughout this time, humans monitor the earth and discover the inkling and octarian species. And follow their evolution with great interest. When humanity found out about the great turf war, they got scared, thinking that the inklings and Octarians are going to follow the same path as humans did before, and worried that the Octarians would be hunted into extinction by the inklings. They also realized the inklings had the fax machine in their possession, and, without a better form to communicate, they started sending constant splatfest ideas to distract the inklings and hopefully stop any future wars.

I believe that the reason why Octavio never leaves his octo form is that he can’t. This must have something to do with the green x he’s been marked with (see the tentacle mem cake)

The splatoon 3 hero mode really blows me away. With TWO unexpected plot twists!! Just absolutely an amazing journey, and it took many many hours, It felt like a video game story of its own and really ramps up my value of this game! I love splatoon!!!

I know the Splatoon series had lore but this is amazing how much world building there is! Regarding the lore, the one part I wish we will eventually understand is the Salmonids. Apart from the Inkling, octoling and human lore, we don't know a lot about the Salmonids.

Amazing job and very well presented I think it would be cool if you made another lore time line that put stuff like band gear and other non story lore on a timeline that’s compliments this time line

In the UK version of the splatoon 1 final splatfest callie gets very upset cause of the lost. So for me who played the uk version it kinda feels weird about callie not caring cause it wasn't even hinted that she cared its flat out stated she did. Just weird localisation I guess lol

awesome and comprehensive video! one thing is still not clear to me though: at the start of octo expansion, agent 3 disappears after being attacked by what was probably one of tartar's underlings/machines. then much later, he comes back and saves agent 4 and cuttlefish from being turned into a smoothie. and after that he gets brainwashed by tartar. but what happened between agent 3 disappearing and him appearing again to destroy the blender? is this ever explained?

This section in the timeline ( 20:23 ) really just reminds me of when some of us would theorize that when Splatoon 3 came out, there would be an extra humanoid species to choose from, along side the Inkling and Octoling that would be a humanoid *Salmon*

my theory for little buddy flying in the end section of Alterna is that eating all the fuzzy ooze (which was made with golden eggs) maybe could have given him the ability to do more than other every other small fry. Is there any confirmed use for golden eggs that would make them so precious to salmonids? Like maybe it makes them stronger or something to that extent.
