time contracts or expands in japanese games depending on how old the characters are getting. this is why resident evil required a half dozen CG films because of random long/short gaps of time between games, but everyone still looks 25
@@Hugsloth Ikr that’s the perfect example we’re not yet ready for an old Leon. The remakes helped give them filler injections so they could be in their prime for longer. Ngl it’s cool af that the characters age in real time. All of the games have the same dates as real life unless they are prequels but no one really cares about seeing old characters yet. Mario has existed for years but he’s still the same.
My favourite insane part of Tekken lore is Paul and Kuma have a generational rivalry and continuously fight each other in the earlier rounds of the KOIF tournaments - even after Kuma dies of old age and his son takes over the name, he still continues to want to stick his thumb in Paul's eyes.
My coworker has been explaining Tekken to me for the last couple months. It’s all over my head but I get a huge kick out of him explaining the T8 character trailers to me. I’ve never seen a person so excited to see a man who owns a pitbull before. Thanks Owen
Great to see King included in this. As a member of the King Kommunity (We aren't stealing Mortal Kombat's idea) I think you should make another video chronicling the life and times of King and Armor King detailing all the wacky highjinx they get up to, like death.
Apparently the King that interacted with the live action children died between 2 and 3, and the current King was one of those live action children grown up. Don't know if that was said already
Yeah, King's background and story is basically copied from the Tigermask manga/anime, Tigermask was so successful that it later became a real life pro-wrestling gimmick in Japan.
If there's anything I've learned from the Infinite Review, it's that Jin just needs to kill 149 more Azazels and the whole "killed billions in a forever war" thing is water under the bridge.
It is absolutely tragic to see how bad wikis have become under the Fandom banner. Even if you have a strong adblocker, the site itself spams incessant popups to 'engage' with the website or click here or there. Or you just straight up get an UNRELATED VIDEO marketing an upcoming piece of media headlining the page no matter what it is-- and it even replaces the thumbnails in search results!
Walk into this expecting something extremely informative an educational and ended up walking away having seen the funniest video I'll probably have seen this week. Extra win!
I first played Tekken 4, got really into it but I didn't understand the story. Here I am years later rediscovering it. I love the story, is so stupid, so weird... But so good at the same time 🤣 This was a great explanation
According to one of the manuals Nina's da was in the ira and her son Steve Fox, is adorned in a big union jack as his default costume, such cruel irony.
My favourite reviewer, reviewing my favourite game series, which involves my favourite passtime of throwing people off cliffs. I doesn't get any better than this.
I was given a special edition of one of these with a huge figure of two of the dads hitting each other. I never bothered opening it as the game was on game pass, and so I use it as a bedside table. Thanks for giving it some context.
I love Paul's official track record; Pre-Tekken 1: Fights Kazuya to a draw Tekken 1: Beats Kuma, Lost to Kauya but it's implied that was a semifinal match Tekken 2: Beats Kuma, is set to face Kazuya again but gets stuck in traffic, misses the match and is DQed Tekken 3: Beats everybody else up to the finals, beats Ogre, leaves. Jin then steals the win Tekken 4: LOSES TO KUMA II Tekken 5: Beats Kuma II but the forfiets due to injuries gained from fighting a bear as a 48 year old Tekken 6: No recorded wins in this one but it was happening during a war and was cancelled, so... Tekken 7: Beats Panda. We don't know who else he beat or how far he got we do know he recieved a small share of prize money so probably quite high
Not even remotely interested in Tekken as a series, but your commentary is excellent and now I know its plot despite never even touching any of the games.
this is hella funny , entertaining and very factual . if i did this video i would have said everything the way you said it . this game story is definitely complicated asf 😅
"All-round bad bastard science" Won a subscriber with that one simple turn of phrase, fair play to ye 🤣 Edit: ok a number of turns of phrase. Personal favourites are "knocking back a pint of white rhino tears" and "his home burnt to the ground by a chip pan fire that Ogre started". Class stuff. Bualadh bos.
2:15 Heihachi Mishima is dead 4:02 Kazuya MIshima is dead 7:05 Some men are dead 9:15 Queen Elisabeth is dead 9:37 Heihachi Mishima is dead 11:23 Jinpachi Mishima is dead
Tekken is like the fever dream of a pubescent teen with no friends and an abusive family. There so much random shit going on, it's both amazing and cool, yet confusing as fuck and makes no sense. That's why it's an amazing game...plus the dinosaurs, robots, sexy women, and leopard guy are cool.
