I was saying it earlier, Soludo would have used Julius Berger on key roads. It would have earned him more respect as a professor. What Otti is doing is very good giving JB work on key roads.
Capital B tells you what the road needs by giving you specifications not what you think or want as a person that doesn't know anything about civil engineering..they give you best samples and do not compromise
Local companies had better learn to build higher quality (not only roads but everything) or they will be replaced and loose business when the people decide they deserve better. High quality should be in our culture
Chinedu, i know you will eventually travel to Aba to get first hand information. After the previous video you posted on pepples road Aba, is good you are on ground to get real information and i wait to see your reactions.
People that don't like good thing will still attack you on this video to defend mediocre projects done by Soludo. This is reason why i still like Ngige, all the roads he constructed then are still in good shape by RCC.

How many time did you say the name : "Berger" in this video I estimate no less than 20 times! 🙄🙄🙄🙄 I disagree with you we must use our own local contractors. Umahi used mainly local contractors and direct labour to transform Ebonyi state infrastructurally. In fact JB has not impressed me with their recent work history. They disappointed me with their slow pace for Second Niger Bridge and after 6/7 years never managed to complete aver basic bridge design with 2 basic approach roads.
This road is more solid than what Umahi did in Ebonyi, people will see good thing and still hate it. Umahi tried but can you compare his road and that of Akwaibom state, the difference will clearly tell you that Julius Berger is the best when it comes for road construction following by RCC. look at this solid road you are comparing with the one done by Umahi. Why do Lagos State government use more of Julius Berger and Other foreign good contractors instead of local ones to construct major roads?.
There is nothing wrong with using local contractors if they can deliver standard. Check the concrete mixture of JB work then check the ones your local contractors are mixing. Without going to the site you will even see the difference from videos. Now, how many of these your local contractors can deliver standard roads? Non. Am yet to see Umahi's concrete road Construction. Julius Berger has no equal when it comes to road construction in Nigeria. Beacause they are the least to be involved in corrupt practices and they care much on delivering standard.
Its a no no no for local contractors.. Any road that is above 5km should be given to international contractors.. We are not ready yet. Do u mean what soludo is doing in anambra is standard,no single soludo road will last more than 4yrs.. Mark this work.. Do u knw how many layers of stone base jb does,b4 about 3 layers of ashfalt. Yes berger does a nice job but that does not mean we have to use them good roads construction is not about the company doing it. Its about the standard that you set and setting up a good system of inspection test plan (ITP). If we use berger then what happens to other local contractors. We can create a standard and make it work. Everywhere in the world they don't care about what contractor name that you use for your project. What government do is to ensure every contractor follows one standard. Even if its your personal house you will still follow the same govement standard
Which local contractor has exhibited that standard you are referring to? And what is stopping them from using the said contractor. Do you know why Umahi company did not go on with constructing Ekwulobia Flyover?
@YangaLife you clearly do not get it contractors don't have standards anywhere in the world. I have been working in the construction field abroad for over 15years and no contractor has standard. Construction standard are set by the government and they put a monitoring system in place to make sure no contractor goes below standard even if its your personal home you don't even have the right to go below standard but you can always go above government approved standard. With any contractor in Nigeria I can build road better than berger quality. What you should be talking about is for government to implement a working system and develop a standard for every company to follow. We need local contractors to build our economy. Every equipment that berger has any contractor can rent it. Abroad construction company rent most of their equipment that's how it works. The problem is not with local contractor. The problem is that our government when they want cheap job done they give it to local contractors and pay them pea nuts but but when they bring berger they pay them 20times more than what they pay local contractors. If you pay any local contractor 80percent of what you pay berger I can guarantee you they will deliver the same quality. After reading this and you still don't get it then am just wasting my time talking to you.
@YangaLife what your saying is like giving two person money to buy you shoe then you gave the first person 10k for shoe and give the second person 300k for shoe. Then the first person came back with Aba made shoe and the second person came back with Nike shoe then you come online to preach that the second person is the best because he bought good quality shoes that no body should ever buy shoes from the first guy. But you failed to tell them that you only gave 10k to the first guy that you're condemning. Who does that my brother what you paid for is what you get. If you want to test a contractor give berger the say amount that you pay local contractor and let's see what kind of standard that you will get.
I agree with you to lager extent, one of the best road in Aba , the union bank Junction road was constructed by the Later days church using a local company during Orji Uzo .
