One of the best walks in the Lakes that, amazing views and there's a boss pub at the bottom called the Sun Inn with a great fire. 8:51 that's Prison Band, good workout that. The bomber's engines are down the side of Great Carrs in the stream. Old Man totally empty as usual 😂 Loads of free parking in Coniston, if you know where it is 😉 Walna Scar used to be free parking a few years ago.

Yeah mate totally agree, I'll probably go back and start on the old man for sunrise to avoid loads of people but maybe miss grey friar aswell, was going to go for a pint in there but it was dead for some reason. That's the thing with Wainwright bagging mate your constantly clock watching trying to get around, would of loved to of seen the plane parts and explorer the old mines, will have to let me know the free parking, didn't mind paying £4 but £8 is a bit heavy, national trust as always taking people's money on the popular fells, I've done most walks without paying and parking in lay bys 😂

@@MattDoesMountains yeah 8 quid is a joke tbh, that's almost Snowdon prices. I'll show you where the free parking is when I see you, don't want to put it on here as people will get onto it, lol. But I've never paid to park in Coniston tbh.

An excellent video, Matt. Thanks. We went to Wetherlam from Tilberthwaite. Then on other days Grey Friar and Great Carrs/Brim Fell/CoM from Three Shires Stone. It was great to see it all again.👍👍

If you climb down to the waterfall at 00:48 and cross over the rocks, there's a tunnel to left you can go quite far down, is great in the summer! Some free parking in the area, overnight too if you ever camp up by the mines or tarns.
@MattDoesMountains
@MattDoesMountains Год назад
Definitely need to return to check the tunnel out then mate, love that type of stuff, where about is the free parking? I couldn't work it out on Google maps 😁

@@MattDoesMountains you walked right past it mate, on the road up to that waterfall at the start, everyone parks on the left before the houses, used it several times now
@MattDoesMountains

@@Richie9630 ah right, I noticed a camper van there and wasn't sure if it was a local but noticed there wasn't any no parking signs either, I'll keep that in mind for next time, thanks pal 🤙

Good to see you back in the Lakes Matt. Did this walk a couple of years back but in reverse so started with Dow Crag and ascended it via South Rake which is one of the gully’s you showed. Nice scramble up there. Number of folks on the Old Man was crazy!!!

Was good to be back mate 😍 I would love to do it in reverse aswell, I need to explore the areas more when I'm not just bagging Wainwrights, them gulley's looked really interesting, sounds like you had a boss day mate, yeah man I'm more about the quiet mountains 😂
