Fun fact: The Conjuring is one of 6 collaborations between director James Wan & Patrick Wilson (Ed). They also worked together on Insidious, Insidious Chapter 2, The Conjuring 2, Aquaman, & the upcoming Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
Good idea to use a jump scare counter 😭 You’ll probably top the number in this video with Paranormal Activity. That movie is such a stressful first time watch 😏
You should definitely watch The Strangers. It’s on the same fear level as this movie…it’s not about possession, but a Home Invasion. Glad you liked the Conjuring, it’s one of my favs.
One thing about this movie that I liked was how the human ghosts are not able to possess or hurt you. Only the demon/witch. So when the girl was talking to spirits, it actually wasn’t a bad thing. The worse that a human spirit could do is spook you. Which I guess could hurt you but only if you trip or get a heart attack or something.
Going to have to say a prayer for Matty that he survives this month of scary movies, haha. The Conjuring is a great movie, and the second sequel is also really good.
This is so random, but I’ve been having a terrible week. I’m in the middle of finding a new job and everything is going wrong. I had to sit for a minute and watch RU-vid videos and this really helped me, thank you!
The casting was perfect especially Vera Farmiga as Lorraine. I get chills with every single line delivery when she explains the horrific things she sees. It’s so unsettling!
i know there's different ways to watch the movies from when they were released or storyline in order, if you start off with the nun first you'll understand the storyline better but a lot of times people just watch them from when the movies were released first which is good too. anyways, can't wait to see you react to them!
One of the greatest modern day horror movies alive! I am so glad to say I experienced all the conjuring films on the big screen. This movie is so iconic! ❤ Great reaction brother!
I like the first Conjuring mainly because they started this series with a Strict budget. VERY limited made these people come up with very good scares from simple things. The hand clapping in the dark was a stroke of genius. The Make Up artist who did the mom's possessed looks and Bathsheba was brilliant. Some cheap CGI here and there but it's done not to common so it's not too noticable at first. Practical horror makes horror films a lot scarier in my opinion.
Those of us who have been around since year 1 of the channel have been trying to get you to watch this movie for so long & you were always reluctant lol. Glad you finally faced your fears & your reaction did not disappoint! One of your best! Can’t wait for you to see the 2nd movie. It’s just as good as this one! The 3rd movie didn’t get the same warm reception as the 1st 2 but personally I think it’s still an ok movie even though James Wan didn’t return to direct it.
The scariest part about the movie, is that the real life version is 100x more scary. The oldest sister Andrea actually worked with the directors on the movie, and she gave them notes on everything she and her family went through in the house…..the director had to turn it down because what Andrea wrote, was far worse than how everything is shown in the movie and if they had used everything that she wrote, it would’ve been too scary to watch. Also important to note….Lorraine Warren got the story wrong about Bathsheba…..she blamed her for everything but there’s no evidence of her being a witch or ever being related to one, and she didn’t sacrifice her baby to Satan. She as well as Jedson, and their two kids (a daughter and a son) are all buried in a cemetery near the property of the Old Arnold Estate which the actual house still stands on, but Bathsheba’s gravestone had to be removed due to the hate she received for the movie. The house in the movie was just a soundstage, and there is no pond out back of the real house….but the basement of the real house, could easily have a mini apartment down there.
But most people want to see a horror movie that is too scary to watch Sad for the family but when people know its a true story and so much scarier than this then it kinda makes you wanna know and see it
I love Ed and Lorraine they were such sweethearts I met them once when I was little I was 4 my God mom was really good friends with them you can feel there love for each other they said I had a beautiful aura and that I was gifted too but not to trust everyone I came across I remember feeling happy around them I didn’t understand what they meant when they said be carful with such a beautiful aura/soul like yours they said when your older you’ll understand I’m 24 now and I finally get what that meant after going through so much the scene when she gets her to remember that happy day still puts me in tears whenever I’m sad/depressed or had a bad week I watch your videos and they put a smile on my face I’m still healing from stuff trying not to lose that light they saw but it’s hard when ppl keep constantly breaking my heart so RU-vid helps especially your RU-vid channel thank you matty for being such a funny kind soul and a sweetheart 🫶🏽❤️🩹🍿
