In this public lecture as part of CNS 2018 in Boston, Michael Gazzaniga (University of California, Santa Barbara) reviews the history of human thinking about the mind/brain problem, giving a big-picture view of what science has revealed. Understanding how consciousness could emanate from a confederation of independent brain modules working together will help define the future of brain science and artificial intelligence, and close the gap between brain and mind. Gazzaniga also discuses the origins of the Cognitive Neuroscience Society (CNS).

Wish this was broadcast all over the internet. So many arguments over the same concepts and who's claiming what. The airport worker is a sadist in disguise. They are everywhere. Brilliant lecture.

Yeah, one could dig into all the references made in this talk, and yet not be or feel "finished" within in a lifetime -- or two combined. Immensely inspiring. A talk leaving a mark on the soul, indeed.
