It’s undeniable that cancel culture has done wonders in shifting the balance from the powerful to the masses, putting the ‘untouchables’ in the hot seat when other systems have fallen short. But it’s far from perfect.
Truth is, cancel culture isn’t a fair game. Not only does it impact people differently depending on power and status, cancellations don't abide by any law, order, or scale. That means that while controversial powerful figures experience a slap on the wrist, everyday people can suffer irreparable damage without the voice nor resources to challenge it.
