@@kfw9257 it only occurred once when I was a lil bean yk and I attempted the most high tech spec ops operation in history to retrieve it.... it failed pretty miserably 💀
My 7 year old self on his way to deploy to the most dangerous operation known to mankind, to retrieve the Nintendo my mom left charging because it's past bedtime
My toxic trait is watching these and thinking, "I could do that easily" Edit: I started a war I think 🤔 How many likes before I try to recreate this scene in one of my shows?
@@pja6476 No one is a machine. Not you, not tier 1 operators, no one. Mistakes happen. Did quite a few happen in this scene? Sure, but that's the problem with being realistic. You know it isn't real, so you are keenly aware of all the mistakes made. I'd wager if I filmed you and a couple buddies clearing a structure and played it back to you, then you would notice tactical errors, small muzzle sweeps, and so on. All in all I'd say it's an great example of how to clear a structure. Especially the final hallway scene. Everyone stands where they are supposed to. Everyone goes where they are supposed to. Everyone minds their sector of responsibility. They flow well.
@@TheWesman45 They do film you in training when it comes to SOF guys, and they do meticulously explain every mistake you make lol. Also, I am mostly referring to them slamming the door and closing. And this isn't some videogame either, making a mistake will get you killed in these situations. Also yeah, it's a film, I just enjoy discussing its inaccuracies, guess I am autistic like that.
@@1PPPeteI noticed a few errors that might have gotten them killed IRL. 1. The van lights are on. 2. The drop off point seems too close. 3. Slamming the van door. 4. Sticking too close to the wall while approaching the guard shack. 5. Nothing was done to make sure the guard stays quiet. 6. As they approach the guard shack, they are in line of sight of the guard. 7. As they approach the first stairwell no one watches the second. They just watch the first landing. 8. When they enter the final area the guard magically disappears to make clearing the final area easier. 9. This was not really a three man job. No one pulls security outside to ensure they don't get pulled up on. 10. Their "rear guard" is a zip tie on a door. 11. They don't secure the front door. 12. The van drives away. Making their exfil needlessly hard. Which ultimately gets them compromised later. I could keep going, but the point is, yes, there are a ton of tactical and film making errors, but it does show how to quietly and quickly clear a structure.
Honestly, this was extremely good. Very realistic for the situation. You weren't necessarily expecting a bunch of guys with guns, you just wanted to make sure people listened to your threat. I loved how you guys barely ever said a word too. And checking the rooms was perfect for a 3 man unit. Great job, this is excellent.
i think WF did consulting for it, I remember them posting an exercise with the same sprinter van pre graffiti on a instagram post, scared my career longevity when I recognized the dude from hell or high water in a balaclava with no context and just found out I got it right without watching the rest of the movie.
@@friedhelmwinter7049 He's keeping his rifle straight so he can respond to contacts from either upstairs or downstairs. I don't see that as a mistake. Biggest thing for me is that they were out under the light for waaaay to long to apprehend the security guard. That was a long time to be noticed just standing out there. Thats when it makes more sense to just be dressed like a normal dude.
@@Operator_Aspen doesnt really matter as the facility is already brightly lit from the outside that using a nod would have been extremely bright considering nods amplify light, not make dark areas look bright
One complaint is that they're running NODs but no IR devices. A nitpick, yes, but if they have the cash for GPNVGs, they likely can afford IR aiming options. Otherwise pretty cool.
Even larger nitpick; l3harris (the company that makes the gpnvg-18) doesn’t make the gpnvg in black Just spotted this a few seconds ago; no battery pack on a single one of their helmets
Its a movie at the end of the day. A really cool looking one with an awesome set up and clearing tactics. Sure its not perfect but have some fun and just enjoy the movie.
everything they did was in good logic, youve never trained to fight your fellow man and it shows. The first thing they teach you in basic combat training for CQC is Speed and violence of action. First thing you learn in the field is that Intel is worth its weight in gold.@@SubIfYouThinkImSingle
@@chillphrog The point is, if you're going to go out of your way to look "tactical" and make it look like you're trying to be realistic, then they should just be realistic.
If you look at the angle at 1:56, the camera cut right before the nod and entering the room, you can see that the point man isn't three feet in front, but can see the left door in his peripheral. He doesn't need to see the head nod, he just needs to see that his partner has exited the room and is in position.
The continuous transition to holding front/rear security and maintaining priorities of work was immaculate when clearing that top hallway. I do enjoy seeing them utilize flexy cuffs to seal the double doors upon entry.
2nd half is REALLY good. First one, well: if you're going to depict nods usage, the environment should not be that bright. But i still liked it a lot. Footwork was 'chef's kiss'
What stands out to me is the usage of the Guard and the poke with the gun. At first as a screen writer you probably dont think about it. Oh they can just use a key card or something. oh you can just punch the guy. but it shows a level of care and realism that's appreciated.
my only gripe with this movie was when things went sideways the 2 other contractors who went after this guy had hk416 with only the front ironsights on lol.
@@martyschraderthere are positives to being sloppy too. Such as making it look like amateur work done by newbies or less trained individuals to throw who ever is hunting you off the track
This movie was fun to watch, but I wished that they kept the plot a little longer. I’m no military or anything but the film had some releasing problems (finished filming in 2019, but didn’t get released until 2022), and the studio had legal disputes which is why the movie was put on bankruptcy. The film had a solid budget, it’s well shot and had interesting locations and great cast but it didn't work out sadly.
@@TheHandThatMockedmost housings have a manual gain and gen3 tubes have autogating but it doesn't make a difference it's bright enough to see without nods otherwise the audience wouldn't be able to see shit it's made that way on purpose
eotechs are so expensive. why spend an excessive amount of money on something that only a few people will notice? That money could be used elsewhere on things that all viewers can enjoy.
@@SharpBayonet well in the span of an hour i watched the entire film the scene in my eyes was just to look tacticool and that was pretty much it but the one thing that I thought was stupid was that they messed up the room they were using to interrogate the doctor and then proceeded to fix up the room to make it look like no one was there and then proceeded to torch the place causing an off screen explosion another thing the film overlooked was the character checking how much ammo he has left in his mag or whether there was a bullet in the chamber because everytime they do that you can clearly see they are using an airsoft pistol rather than switching out the gun with a prop during these scenes
Nods with no IR set up? They love passive aiming I guess?....Did they expect the dudes in the lab to have Nods as well that's why they ditched the IRs? I guess we'll never know cause it's just a show....
TBH, the whole movie was kinda...bad. This sequence was ok..ish. But you are right. NODs and no IR or even WML? No overwatch, no rearguard, nothing. Shootout with the police was stupid. 3 guys with ARs would dominate any police first responders on scene. But hey, it is just a movie. Brain switched off and just watch it for what it is.
they are in a civillian office building my man. the probability of finding real bad guys was pretty low. so they sacrificed some protection for speed and stealthiness
I don't know if they intended it, but this cqb scene is probably spot on for how a group of relatively untrained civilians with proper gear would look clearing a soft target. As for the shootouts it's all a joke mostly, but still.
I swear, you could show real-life footage of Navy SEALs clearing a hijacked ship, re-label it " Movie Clip", and the keyboard warriors would be in the comments complaining about how unrealistic it is.
A lot of comments are nitpicking indeed but some of the things pointed out are major whoopsies. (Of course "whoops" moments do happen in real life - see operation Red Wings - but are severly punished by enemy after luck runs out).
communication throughout the entire operation was overall limited and pretty dam bad they get into a shootout with the cops they kept their nods on which would had blinded them bc of the bright street lamps and the police lights going off they would occasionally say suppress or cover fire, but sometimes they say it like they are not like in a shootout or whisper silently into their intercoms anyways when they say suppress or cover, they dont they dont start shooting to pin the cops, they instead just continue to fire accurate shots that does not keep the police's heads down ultimately resulting in the main character taking a bullet to the leg
@@allenliu8820 exactly. Most Special Operators or ex Operators use radio calls and stuff.and you wouldn't use nods when police are shooting at you cauz the lights will blind you like crazy
Quite a few mistakes for a 3 man team in terms of clearing, but not the worst. With 7 minutes to grab the package and get out, leaving the place as you found it, time is not on your side at all, regardless of how you look at the situation. Makes sense for the movie though, not to bad. These guys were obviously trained to some degree, but the stairway scenes were horrendous. Apart from that, the very expedited hallway clearing was a 7/10
Fake Eotech, the front lense should not be reflective if it's real, and when the guy came up the stairs he should have watched the door above him instead of eye level. Just the small things, but all in all it's good.
