We have acquired most of these episodes unofficially by reaching out to the Great British public. Here we are in 2024, nearly thirty years later. I was a heroin addict from 2005-2023 and I’m now finally clean. The heroin is that bad now that in the end I just found it pointless to continue. Just for context, I worked throughout my addiction and have a family and own my home. Not everyone needs to steal to fund their habit.

This was quite nostalgic for me. Heroin had a bit of a boom in the UK around this time... it seemed almost 'cool' to me and my small town friends and we ended up getting mixed up in it around '96 and a few of us ended up addicted, myself included. I went from university and a nice car to prison in about 2 years flat. Ended up as middle management in a county lines gang and all of us ended up getting busted in an operation... I got a 6 and managed to sort my shit out in prison, as I was lucky to go to a decent one with a decent drug free program. I've been out and a working, functioning member of society for the past 20 years, albeit hampered by a criminal record which has closed so many career paths... to anyone still struggling with this nightmare I wish you the very best and hope you can overcome it one day.

No way is crack and heroin as bad now as then. I was a addict back then and the young people leant from our mistakes and hardly any take it now and the few addicts that are left are mostly long time users.

As an ex addict that isnt living your surviving to feed your habit so glad to be an ex as said its the second best thing iver ever done how much belter a life you get is amazing and if i can do it anyone can i hope that this will reach at least one person and make them at least think twice its a ball and chain that destroy you and lots of loved ones around you

Sadly 97 was the year i became a heroin addict. Still makes me extremely angry at how stupid i was as 16 year old idiot teen who that he 2as cool and had it unde4 control but it takes you alit of time to realise thatyou dont have any control when it comes to that horrible drug. Ive been 10 yeras clean this August. Lost so many goid friends to that shit.

You’re correct. I used to smoke it back in the 00’s. Me and one other that I smoked with actually got clean and stayed clean. The rest are still on it or dead.

Yes that one lol The kid was dragged up.I remember him getting his mum pills for grab a granny night at roxys when he was 14. I bumped into him years after his mum had announced suicide,and I was gob smacked.

Can you prove that ? I think i'll be waiting a very long time for you to do so . 100,000 % is quite a reach and the world population has gone from 5.8 billion when this programme was made to 8.2 billion in 2023 . Heroin isn't anywhere near as popular now as it was in the 90's .
