There is a small community of Nepali people working in Lhasa . They work in Indian restaurants and they also work in beauty parlors( salons ) doing indian style treatments like henna and eyebrow threading . I speak from experience as a Tibetan who has been to Lhasa & met Nepali people there .
I'm Tibetan brought up in India, through your video I can sense the happiness of our mother land. It's my dream land or say my bucket list to go Tibet. By any chance and luckily if I get any visa there, surely will go visit and go trip along with you bro. Keep lifting spirit to all those people watching your vlog... Many love and wishes to you my brother! 🌷
You sound like a 50 cent army, Han chinese hiding behind a tibetan name. If you think Tibetans under Chinese persecution is happy, whats stopping you from leaving India?
@@user-vd9nz2uq2g only money is stopping him from going, not the government. In country called vaChyna the top leaders send all their children to US, UK, Australia and ban any common citizen from migrating.
Jamyang the all rounder has shown us the prizes of almost everything in Lhasa. In fact he has taken a lot of pain in shooting this video. Thanks a lot. Vegetable market is amazing. All in all the video is very good and thank you once again. Keep going Jamyang.
I am surprised to see developed Lhasa. This is looking like a modern city. Previously i had seen old pictures of Lhasa and this video changed my thinking.
Tibet needs to develop and modernize, roads and Bridges, and that's what the Chinese government has been doing. We Chinese can't let the Tibetan Chinese just raise sheep and cattle to earn a little money!
@@gyadre The 1st-generation lamas in exile can still return to China through special channels. Although there are very few left.. the 2nd and 3rd generations born in India are only for Indians, and most of the wealthy have emigrated to Europe and the US through political refugees. . The rest have no money, power, or ability, and are unwilling to be Indians. What else can they do except to have a sense of presence in anti-Chinese hysteria?
Thank you for sharing! I remember that fresh vegetables and fruits were more expensive around 10 years ago. As transportation condition has turned better and better and better, more fresh goods can be deliveried to Lhasa from inner China. Though building railway and roads is pretty hard in Tibetan plateau, the government still invested for the infrustructure to suppport the development of Tibet.

I will come and live in Lhasa with my fur babies for few months may be after retirement! Since I am from Kathmandu, Nepal and in Nepal we are kind of mix of buddhism and Hinduism! We celebrate even buddhist festivals and my Buddhist friends also celebrates Hindu festivals. We go to monasteries and also temples! So buddhist holy place is also ours holy place! And I read that how a Nepali princess, daughter of king Anshuverma (Bhrikuti nepali name and her Tibetan name is Bhelsa Tristun was married to Emperor of Tibet! And nepali architect Araniko( his nepali name) was the one who went to Tibet and china in yung dynasty along with this princess and introduced pagoda style designs and white Gumbas to Tibet and then to yung dynasty and also built many great buildings in china. Tibet and nepal share a great history and I feel connected to Tibet and so many Nepalese do! Even our cuisines are influenced by Tibetan cuisine! Love and respect from all Nepalese!
Yummy Street food, thank you for showing us beautiful n clean Tibet! Keep up with more interesting videos of Tibet. Thanks to China Govt for safe n clean Tibet. No more Serfdom. All Tibetans are equal now, n your religion is still being practised n Tradition preserved!!!! Poverty alleviation has completed. Congratulations!
I remember reading in 9th class a travelogue about Lhasa by Rahul Sankrityayan, he explained how Lhasa was besieged by goons and most people were drunkards there. I think that bit dated back to 1950s or something. Now, I'm completely taken away by how much progress has been made.

WOWWW Im impressed to see how clean and modern this city is. Im from India and Lhasa , Tibet in our minds is really a mountainous region with harsh life. this video changed everything. This is like some city in Europe !! so beautiful. Added to my bucket list. Although a tad expensive compared to life in Mumbai except for real estate. Tibet is definitely cheap both for rent as well as owning an apartment. Mumbai only real Estate is very very expensive almost New York or Manhattan prices in some pockets. Even in Mumbai suburbs a 1 bedroom apartment costs close to 700000 USD. Rent for a 1 bhk in Mumbai suburb is close to 600-700 USD. Most working middleclass live in distant suburbs and travel by public transport to downtown or their place of work. If you know where to buy your day to day needs, its not too expensive. Grocery fruits and vegetables public transportation is quite reasonable.
I'm impressed. The streets are so clean and well maintained. Supermarkets are big with lots of food stuffs and other every day items. Tibet is getting rich and modern. People are enjoying peace and prosperity.
@@kristofcsaky-hetszilwafass6250 Who told you that? You better ask native peoples in US, Canada and Australia whether they want to be free and live in peace and prosperity.
@@lionelwong5842 US, Canada and Australia want to be free and live in peace - I agree. And the people of Tibet would like to do so as well. However Tibet was invaded by China in 1959, therefore Tibet is not free now. Tibetan people want to get back their freedom.
China has used the taxes and fees of people from the eastern provinces to improve the transportation in Tibet, reduce the transportation cost of Tibet, bring vegetables and industrial products from eastern China to Tibet, and build the infrastructure in Tibet, so that Tibetans can live a modern life. Many cities in eastern China have donated money to build schools in Tibet so that Tibetan children can receive science education. Young Tibetans learn to take care of their skin and no longer have dark skin due to sun exposure and weather. The traditional Buddhist culture and temples of Tibetans are preserved, and Tibetan language is on the streets. Many Han Chinese sacrificed their lives while building railways and highways in Tibet. In this way, Western countries also say that China oppresses Tibetans, and Indians shout for Tibetan independence all day long because they are jealous that Tibetans are getting better and better. There are few Tibetans in China who are calling for independence, including the Dalai Lama, who are not calling for Tibet's independence. Only Western and Indian people who are jealous of China and do not want Tibetans to live a modern life would call for Tibet's independence.
those exiles are a knife to cut China which has been sharpened by China's enemy for years ! but that dude is 87 years old now ,like a rusted knife ,it can't cut anything .
With four more bullet train - HSR routes coming to Tibet in the near future, Tibet will become one of the richest Province in China. Hopefully this will brings in more goods and services and also reduces the cost of living. Tibetans are devoted, peaceful Buddhists, wish them well.

Awesome video. I appreciated so very much your hard work in bringing Tibet to us all who haven't visited Tibet. Thank you for the valuable information.

WTF, i was in Lhasa in 2012.... The development in the past 9 years is insane, i barely recognize it. I would love to go back one day. Tibetan food is undefeated also!
Amazing video! I've never been to Tibet before, but it looks stunning. The infrastructure looks in pristine condition, the streets are wide and clean, and the shops looks as modern as anything found anywhere else in Asia. I am adding Tibet to my bucket list for sure!
Thanks for another lovely and informative video now I can set my budget if I have plan to visit this place Lahasa looks very modern city not as we used to watch in old movies keep it up
In compare to Manila, Philippines, the Lhasa,Tibet is cheaper in food, transportation, rental but buying apartment I think is expensive..western branded items is also expensive, I think local clothing is also cheaper..best is no to less traffic in city center and spacious metro. Thanks for showing Tibet. Watching from tropical island nation of Philippines.☀
This video is surely exciting and encouraging to put Lhasa in travelers' list of places to visit. Honestly, I didn't have such an image of Tibet in my mind so it's very interesting to see the capital city life. Definitely impressed by the overall cleanliness in streets and roads. From the cost of living perspective, it is very hard for most places to beat Delhi (where I am) in majority of the basic essentials as comparatively it's pretty cheap which, however, comes with its own set of pros and cons.
Amazing Lhasa My dream destination in future 2023 or 2324. Hope that COVID -19 is reduced from every corner of the world so we from EU-countries can travel to exotic places again. THANK YOU! Best wishes from Oranuch in Stockholm - Sweden

Hello my friend, just out of curiosity, can you please tell me what Tibetans living outside Tibet think of China in Tibet. Do they think China is doing a good job in development in Tibet or not? I am from Nepal and I personally think Tibet is much better under Chinese rule than Dalai Lama. China has brought science, maths and uplifted the standard of living while under Dalai Lama, it was just superstition and abject poverty for the locals. That's just my personal opinion, it would be really interesting to know your view on the subject. Thank you and Tashi delek.
@@Rebelass74 what if I told you that Kathmandu would be transformed overnight into a clean modern city like Lhasa and all of Nepal would develop if you hand over Nepal’s sovereignty to China, would you accept? China has done tremendous development work in Tibet and I don’t agree with people who demonise CCP without knowing the real situation. But there’s also a thing called the right to self-determination and dignity to exist as a people. BTW even before 1959, there was no poverty to the level that it exists in Nepal or India. Even the poorest nomad family would have at least 30-40 yaks.

Wow,so cool...hardly see people wearing mask👍🏻Tibet’s in my bucket list but gotta wait for this pandemic to be over...very beautiful & modern country👍🏻🤤
Lhasa, the capital of Tibet is no less than any developed country in the world apart from the scenic beauty of the Tibet. Above all, Tibetans are thoroughly simple, gentle and religious by nature. Indeed, Tibet is a real treasure of the Nature. I wish to visit entire Tibet once in my life though twice I have visited Kailash-Manasarovar as far back as 2011 and 2012 being religious trip. I am very keen to visit your country at the earliest opportunity if given by the God. God bless Tibetans with all that they are craving for.
When talk about Tibet people would think of potala palace. Your video is eye opening never think Tibet is that modernize. I always though Tibet is like Nepal.
Not your fault. I used to think Tibet is almost poorest area in China. But now I found it's not. The GDP per capita of Tibet is 8000 USD(shocked),higher than may other provinces .
@@user-ub8kb6xq9u Although Tibet has a per capita GDP of US$8,000, it is still a backward area. For example, Zhejiang Province, which ranks fourth in China, has a per capita GDP of US$14,600.
While its ur not fault to think tibet was poor cuz many had not much access to it but to think that it was like nepal is a bit far stretched and shows lack of awareness on ur side….
Amazing video. Lhasa is more developed than i thought. I recommend visit kfc or pizza hut or any internatinal fast food in Lhasa, western audiences love that kind of videos to see how the menu changes by citie. I know it is not traditional to tibet but that is an idea.
I dont know about menu of kfc dominos and pizza hut of lhasa but burger king only seems to have non veg option and yak burgers are specialty….and have no vegetarian options…..and i think fries will be creamier as potato grows better in tibet

Would it be possible to do a separate video just on real estate, the different districts of the city, and the qualifications to buy a property in Lhasa? Thank you so much for all that you do my friend! Keep up the good work!
Very nicely depicted, very detailed,it is actually "TO THE POINT" to be precise. Atleast we could have a rough outline of the costs and everything which is definitely necessary when someone is travelling. Hoping to visit Tibet someday. God bless you ❤️

@Pangpi Dawang maybe they did not want to have it. And by the way China would not have airplanes if it was not invented by the Wright brothers. So what is your point, nitwit?
nepal and the lhasa have a long and old relationship ... love it even 30 ,35 years before people from the himalayan region of nepal they used to ho lhasa to take the salt for daily life .
Every Chinese city is so clean and tidy, looks so beautiful. I guess one of the reasons why the living costs are expensive are due to logistic costs, considering all goods have to be shipped to Tibet from other provinces. Looking forward the Sichuam-Tibet express train to be completed.
