Stupid that they decriminalize drugs in same era that Silk road was shut down, both gov and silk road want official producers to beat out the shady producers. Chances are the same politicians have made both decisions.

Also, very sus they decriminalized drugs without any other changes. You'd think they would of decriminalized AND co-op with big pharma to replace current dealers with gov regulated companies.

exact same thing happened in oregon they had a drug problem decriminalized trying to copy portugal but had no rehab support for drug users just making drugs a more openly used thing not solving anything

@@redwiltshire1816 we don't know what these people have been through or what their circumstances are. My manager was a nice guy, nothing out of the ordinary about him but he was addicted to methamphetamines for many years and nobody knew until he died last year of an overdose. People are secretly suffering in silence so for outsiders to look at them and think "they should just start enjoying life" is a naïve and ignorant way of going about it. For a government to just decriminalise drugs and not have the necessary treatment to hand is asking for trouble and the issue becomes 100x worse. I feel sorry for a lot of the drug addicts who get sucked in and have no way of getting clean, I'd kill myself if I ever hit rock bottom like that.

@@paparoach007 the correct term is “quality of life” and nobody said anything about not understanding I’ve spent years talking to addicts and helping them I’ve done poly-substance use but I know for a fact the reason people do drugs is not because of the drugs it’s because life has become such a miserable place to be these people would rather get high and not feeling anything that suffer through the pain alone and with zero support so I stand by my statement if people actually looked out for there fellow human and actually helping them (that includes the government) they wouldn’t succumb to addiction in the first place

@@redwiltshire1816 It doesn't matter how good your life is before you try drugs. The drugs make you feel better than you ever possibly could while sober. So coming back to reality feels like torture, and the drug becomes your new normal.

It effects their ability to be employed later down the line which is a big issue that decriminalization solves. Obviously it’s not implemented well here because of the lack of support systems in place, but it’s still probably better than kicking them while they’re down by destroying their chances to find gainful employment in the future.

Decimalization of drugs will always be the solution, but it fails when the municipal and provincial government actively REFUSES too also implement robust public support systems for the addicted and the impoverished.
