I love my Cowichan sweater. Some dear friends gifted me one in 2009 on my birthday and I've worn it during the winters and even in the summers since then. It's my favourite piece of clothing hands-down. Best gift I ever received!

Before the first Settler the Cowichans where excellent in weaving Cloth with traditional Pattern .Cowichans learnt knitting by the first Settlers , they first learned how to knit Socks . Before WW1 began, they startet knitting Cowichan Sweaters but only with one Colour. The coloured Sweaters with the typicall Cowichan Patterns and 2 or more Colours started a bit later. So they found a very beautiful Way to combine the knitting Techniques with their traditional Patterns and i so love that

I would love to watch the full documentary in the UK, but can't find any way to do so. Any plans to make it more widely available at any time?

I can’t seem to find a way to watch the documentary in the US. I am unable to get cbc gem on my phone or tv! My wife and I knit and would love to see it. my mother bought a cowichan sweater when we were visiting Nanaimo in 1978.
