The Coyote vs Acme Situation Frustrates Me

I have an idea for an Roger Rabbit style Animaniacs movie where Yakko, Wakko and Dot have to save Warner Brothers and the animation industry from David Zaslav. Animaniacs: The Movie is a live-action/animated hybrid, slapstick comedy, musical, and crossover movie sets in the real world where humans and toons co-exist with one another (similar to Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Chip n Dale Rescue Rangers [2022]). And The Warner Brothers and the Warner Sister, Yakko, Wakko and Dot Warner along with their new human friend Harper Parker (Jo Ellen Pellman, Netflix's The Prom) has to save the future of the animation industry and their home studio, Warner Bros. from the CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, David Zaslav (Trey Parker, South Park).

Wow, this video actually brought up a point I didn't think of, and now it does kinda make sense why this movie was canned, considering every Looney Tunes movie has bombed. I don't see why they can't just release it directly to streaming though, it might do better there.

The day David Zaslav gets impeached will be a happy day. Warner Bros. needs a new CEO who isn't sexist or racist and actually cares about its century's worth of animated classics.

This fucking pisses me off.

While I can understand the point you bring up with why this isn’t happening I don’t entirely agree with it for a few reasons one of the biggest being that unlike back in action the To. And merry movie and space jam 2 is that this was actively loved by basically everyone who watched it those previous films at least at the time were either seen as just ok or outright bad considering that this film had much more active phrase and far more people wanting it I feel like it had a much better chance to make back its budget then you claim further more coyote vs acme had a much more interesting plot then those other films people thought back in action was just trying to copy what made space jam successful same with a new legacy and the Tom and jerry movie felt too simaler to the original film while this was getting a lot more attention with it having a far more unique plot plus it had a decently low budget meaning it could have made its budget back if it came out I mean barbie had a little over twice the budget coyote vs acme had and that film became a incredibly successful film and before you say it was because of the barbenhimer jokes Considering that this film has been getting similar attention ( less in terms of what the attraction is and more in terms of how big the attention is ) I could see it at the very least making half of what barbie did plus considering that the day the earth blew up is given a second chance and will likely be a success it seams utterly stupid that they wouldn’t do the same with coyote vs acme especially since that film ended up in a smaller situation to what coyote vs acme is going through with how many people activity wanted it the only difference is simply that the day the earth blew up didn’t have as many people activity wanting it as coyote vs acme did also while you did compare this to larykins that film had way way less people actively wanting it to come out and and larykins wasn’t fully completed despite being close to being done while coyote vs acme was fully completed oh and one last big point this is the third time Warner has done something like this with coyote vs acme in the past year so it only makes sense that people reacted to this one so much since we already had 2 bassicly completed films already gotten rid of either way while I get where your coming from I don’t entirely agree with your points honestly the biggest reason I feel like this got canceled was pure ignorance from David who didn’t even watch a film that was unanimously liked I just wish this shit didn’t happen so much

The differences between this movie and the other flopped projects\those that got cancelled 1. It scored REALLY well with the test audiences, which isn't surprising James Gunn was a co-writer for it and one of producers. 2. It got a public outcry like the Sonic movie did. How many people actually were upset that Batgirl was cancelled? Considering how poor The Flash movie was, it's not surprising. But this movie was made aware of because of this scandal, way more people wanted to see it now. Heck, I didn't even know the movie existed until I heard all those news, and I definitely want to see it now. We could have got another Sonic Movie situation at the box office. Was that a flop? No.

Back in action was 20 years ago. Tom and jerry, and Space Jam 2 (which was crap), both came out on HBO Max and theaters day and date right after a pandemic. Those are not good metrics

I understand why they felt it may not be profitable. But why not just release it on Max? Or take any of the streaming offers they had? There is no way they can make more than that with a tax write off.

It's almost amusing how someone like Zaslav can keep a straight face when he cancelled Coyote vs Acme right when the film was actually complete, but had let the Velma show release and the Flash and had them advertised as the best things since Endgame.

Sorry but I hardly disagree with the part of understanding why Zaslav shelved this movie. David Zaslav is still in the wrong to shelve this movie. I cannot understand his situation with canceling this movie. Cause there is actually another reason why they decided to canned this film again. It was confirmed David Zaslav never saw the film and they declined a deal with Amazon and Netflix and Paramounts deal because they're afraid the movie will be a success for them. Which is an absolute stupid reason and logic..canceling a movie you never seen and not wanting a company to buy from you to make more money than just that stupid tax write off just because it might be a success for them..that makes no sense. Besides even though some movies fail that's because they need to be handled very well, cause what about Who Framed Roger Rabbit? That movie became successful and the test screen watchers said the movie reminded them of Who Framed Roger Rabbit and it did good at the test scores as well! Which is definitely a 75% of success right there. And besides even if a movie won't be successful it still doesn't deserve to be shelved, it deserves to be seen by millions of people to see these passions people's hard work!💖 And the people that worked on the film are heartbroken by this..which shows Zaslav is still not in the right here and Zaslav is just a complete coward.
