I was at this show, I'm pretty sure it was 1999. We went to the Castro that same weekend for the celebration there, definitely an eye opener for me! Anyway, Sean Yseult and her band the Famous Monsters opened for the Cramps, they were great also. The FMs did a cover of an old song that I couldn't remember the name of, but it was a great version of that song! Great memories of way back when...
Famous Monsters played Saturday, I seem to recall lux burned a bible that day. I couldn't go to the halloween show because tickets went seemingly fast... I'm sure halloween was a great show too.
wow that blew me away! i been binging on cramps vids lately, like i often do, but that was a GREAT version of your gonna miss me...im not saying anything new i guess HA...but damn ivy....that was great. XOXO
As a lifetime fan of The Thirteenth Floor Elevators - and having seen their reunion at the Austin Levitation Festival - AND being a Cramps fan - I never knew they covered You're Gonna Miss Me. As usual, Poison is flamin' hot on guitar and, well being herself. Now I know that my unknown dream would be The Cramps covering Slip Inside This House. Lux would be the ideal interpreter of that mystic lyric, and Poison would ignite the rhythm.
YES , VERY NICE UPGRADE....This may be the only version of ''You're Gonna Miss Me" The Cramps ever did , tho' it's been implied that they played it in the very early days , when they did "Hurricane Fighter Plane. Lux said The Red Krayola and The ELEVATORS (aLONG WITH THE Shadows of Knight ) WERE HIS FAVES.
I know lux had gone a few years ago but I didn't realise that nik had gone too, god bless them and i hope there up there with lemmy playing rock and roll. Thanks for the info , Jerry,
