The funny part? He still doesn't powercreep eyja. He is more of a utility unit. His s1 is good for mob clearing and S3 is good for some high level play. He still can't beat Eyja's consistency.

By damage yes,but by utility...Logos has a slightly better use than Eyja.

thematically her sacrifice and amiya's journey in taking on civilight eterna (unwillingly) sours this addition a lot for me she's alive yes, but the whole point of that is that it's taboo and fucked up, resurrected theresa clearly isn't who she was. theresis himself wishes to respect the dead- it seems hypergyrph doesn't follow his ideals

​@@ZafangI don't think she's actually Theresa tho. Her codename comes up differently. Haimao did mention that "she is Theresa, but also not Theresa". Well all we can do is just wait for the event release then let's see what HG is cooking.

i remember reading somewhere, that theresa we see is not theresa, and actual theresa was inside amiya all along, and the rings only supress theresa's identity overtaking amiya's body and "soul" . although theres 0 way to confirm it till babel event gets to global

@bucketofoddities7070 Probably just unique to Amiya. Usually, in gachas, the MC can fill out different roles, so that's the case here. At the end of each arc, they'll probably add a new class for her, I assume.

@@michaelkriston2516 This exactly. I always thought that the memes about AK players not being able to read was a bit exaggerated, but now I changed my mind after having seen the sheer amount of people being surprised that "Theresa" is even playable.

Yeah they succeed but it kind of sucks. Obviously Arknights isn't gonna fail as a game or anything but it sucks for us, the consumers. Worst case scenario is if they continually release operators that are objectively stronger than any previous ones. Stronger ops means HG needs to rebalance the new stages so it doesn't feel incredibly boring by buffing enemy stats or using convoluted gimmicks. The latter option is difficult to execute tastefully and sometimes impossible. Harder "normal" content (excluding challenge content like max risk CC)--> people gravitate towards meta operators --> HG sees the sales and makes more broken operators. At the end, we'll be at a point where old units are terrible in comparison to new ones, and we're kind of forced to roll on every few banners. We're not that far in yet, currently if you miss an operator it's fine for the most part, it's just a mild annoyance. But my point is balance is still important to some degree for an enjoyable experience.

Nah, if an unbalanced game like Nikke prints money, what makes you think gacha players care about that stuff lol Also I dont know about that one lol DOS S-3 no buffs core strat used year one ops like Saria and Suzuran (still to this day) if anything the "mild annoyance" came by the fact those ops are very hard to get at the moment as a newbie. if they powercrept them then new players that wont pull in the kernel banner might have a chance of getting them with a new unit, the problem with that? Only the nitpickers. The content in AK isnt even that niche to begin with tho, I have never faced a stage where i regret not pulling for the new operator, there are even guides that still use low rarity units just fine for EX, S and MO stages with convoluted gimmicks and tanky mobs not even a mild annoyance as you say. How are you generalizing the consumers to just a bunch of old doomposters that feel salty the game isnt going the way they want? do you realize gacha players are casual no? @@ggok

Its not like so many other video clears have been using older operators to clear new content despite the stat increase overtime Also saria, suzuran, ceobe and even caster eyja still see use because their overall kit can still fufill their roles. Logos doesn't replace ceobe because she still can shred through high defense enemies and targeting priority. Logos has res shred+arts amp, but in a swarm that talent will just bounce randomly and might not even hit the enemy you want it to. Then pitting him against a lone elite, it'd be the same when you use ceobe. W alter still has innate shortcomings as a flinger sniper on top of her bomb talent being rng (only except s3 onskill), meanwhile mlynar is able to hit multiple enemies anywhere in his range and still do monstorous amounts of damage (plus airborne)

I was talking about the general direction of the game unrelated to the 5th anniversary.** I was mainly illustrating how bad it could get, that Arknights would be better with at least some balance. It's ok right now tbh to answer your questions: -Higher popularity and profit doesn't always equal better quality. Kinda like Drake & Kayne. I don't really play any other gacha games, I like playing for the gameplay, I don't really like the gacha system as a whole. -Yeah some Kernel operators are still good but they're a lot more accessible compared to relatively new operators. We have celebration "make your own" banners where you choose a 6 star you can pick & buy with 180 gold certs. -I'm not really an Arknights boomer who gets annoyed because the old units get powercrept. I'm annoyed because the accessibility of these new units is shit. -Unlike the kernel ops, many of the strong operators are usually limited or at least non rerun. Limited: Texalter, Yato Alter, Eyja Alter, Virtuosa, Shu, Ela Non Rerun: Mylnar, Surtr, Typhon, Degenblecher With the main ones people want being Mylnar (big burst DPS) & Texalt (very useful fuck up remover + extra dps). If you are a newbie you 100% would've missed several units. Spending 300 pulls to spark Texalter while hoping to get her with the small rate up, or spending a random amount of pulls to get Mylnar from a dual banner or something just sucks unless you're rich. -Low Rarity Clears exist yes. But nowadays if you look at tutorials, for EX 8 CMs you usually need 2 meta 6 stars to comfortably beat it, sometimes you can manage with 1 (usually it's Mylnar) but you're required to have very well leveled 4 stars. -Leveling up 4 stars high enough sucks, if you're a veteran with a built base it's no problem but for newbies? It sucks ass dude. The variety of materials (locking recipes behind late chapters) and lmd you lack makes it so difficult to have a fully built team. Realistically you would have to wait for an event to farm the mats you need efficiently instead of farming whatever you want. So ideally you would want a guide with 1 6 star and a bunch of 3 stars. -They always make a bunch of the 4 units kind of cruicial, like click's extended range or arene targetting drones. For the record, I was unsuccessful in getting click and arene for a LONG time. Yeah I did save a bit to pull for certain banners, but I'm not spending pulls to get 4 stars. -I would call myself a casual player, and I'm relatively new. But it was really annoying when I didn't have any good 6 stars. Thankfully I was pretty lucky and got Mylnar from a dual banner, I was pretty comfortable from there. Before that though I was losing a lot of sanity because I kept failing stages due to certain operators missing. But many people aren't as lucky, if you read some comments on low rarity guides there are a bunch of people saying they gave up some stages due to the stat blot. Right now, I can beat any stage comfortably, but that wasn't the case when I was a new player. And I'm disappointed to see the general direction HG is going makes it looks like it's getting worse. To be fair, it's not really my problem anymore lol. I'll be fine but a bunch of new players will probably suffer unless they pour money into this game I guess I'm salty because I didn't get click for like half a year and KyostinV always makes guides with her extended range
