Agreed. But also, I'm tired of people pushing a "particles and mind bending" sensationalist narrative. These things are fields of energy, "particle" means localised symmetries in those fields. The weirdness all comes from science communication, not the maths or the experiments. A-B effect is perfectly simple and intuitive. I have a degree in theoretical physics BTW.

@@tinkeringtim7999 Yes exactly! The very point of the video was to show why it is intuitive that electron would behave differently even though it’s always outside the enclosure. And also, I don’t think any connection between mind and matter was mentioned in the video. Was there something specific in the video that made you think of there being a connection between mind and particles?

I don’t normally comment on RU-vid videos but I have to say this is an EXCELLENT video. You not only explain a very interesting effect that’s not often discussed but you also explain ancillary topics succinctly like gauge invariance, curl, line integrals etc. You’re using just the right level of mathematics to make it easily approachable to individuals with a college level of education without resorting to leaps due to having to dumb it down. Really an Incredible job. Please pick any topics for future videos and go at it! Looking forward to it.

My opinion for keeping A(bar) =0.in the case B=0, is to observe the interference pattern. I mean here A need not be zero. We can keep any value for A (bar) to observe phase difference for wave function of the electron.but may be keeping A(bar)=0,might simplify the calculation or make it looks or understands easy. If I am wrong. May I know you answer please??? @world of quantum

First off, a rather good overall explanation of this "paradox", a very clear discussion of the equations used, and excellent graphics (You can talk a bit faster, however ;) ). I'll simply add that the math really say's nothing about the 'A' field for any specific region (or enclosed by the line integral) except giving its total value. As you point out, the double slit electron experiment, certainly does prove that the vector potential cannot be zero in any region outside the enclosed/shielded 'B' field area. While Maxwell's equation for this situation doesn't account for this behavior (not too surprising since magnetic fields are just uncorrected electric fields in motion) it is obvious that this is where the error dwells. Certainly, this demonstrates a topic the two theoretical approaches provide rather dramatically different results.

Thanks! And yes, certainly, the AB effect exemplifies a bunch of physical principles at play. Another interesting discussion is that regarding the connection between Berry phase and the Aharonov-Bohm effect. This effect can also be approached in a different way: by analyzing the accumulated Berry phase as the wavefunction travels from the slits to the screen.

OH no! NEVER fall for the "talk faster". Two reasons: 1. A lot of people listening on variable speeds. A slow and well pronounced voice speeds up MUCH cleaner than an already fast one. 2. Mumbling. Keep in mind not all of you audience might be native speakers. And when speaking fast, EVERYONE starts to mumble, forget a letter or complete syllable here and there and generally "smoothes out" the language. That (by definition) makes it harder to understand.

Usually the confined magnetic field should be directly behind the double slit and between the slits, so that electrons pass on different sides depending on the slit they take. The Aharanov-Bohm effect is a nice application of Feynman path integrals, an equivalent formalism to the Schrödinger equation in which the vector potential also appears. With that it can be easily shown that a phase shift results from the vector potential that is proportional to the curl determined in the loop integral, and that phase shift is what changes the interference pattern. As you noted in the video, it is important to recognize that the experimental results confirm the mathematical formulation describing charged particles in electromagnetic fields in quantum mechanics, i.e. physicists have to check if their fancy mathematics describe reality.

Great work here - some superb clarifications of various confusing aspects of electromagnetism and quantum mechanics. My take is that we can always simplify and lose nothing in the process! We have to get to reality eventually and the reality is a fringe pattern. Some thoughts. First of all whatever you can do with an electron as a wave, you can do with light as a wave. (Happy to be challenged on that.) So what is the analogous effect with light? From what I can see the way you can shift a fringe pattern with light is to put a slab of glass over one of the slits and change the phase of the interfering light such that the fringes move. So when we see this occurring in your experiment, then we can say that the introduction of the closed magnetic field is making a phase contribution to the electron wave - hence the fringes move. So all of the maths has to lead to a phase shift in one of the interfering electron wave fields. I wonder if we can find this interpretation somewhere here? I honestly don’t know. Another thing to conjure with is the idea that any magnetic field line can be thought of as being associated with an electron going around in a circle. So you can dispense with a magnetic field and represent it as an electron going around in a circle. I think this is what the curl expression is telling us. Whether that line of thinking helps - I don’t know but it’s always worth throwing at it! Happy to discuss…

Not sure how much physics you know, but seems like there was a lot of independent reasoning in your comment. In that case, I am quite impressed by your line of reasoning. And yes you are absolutely right! There is a phase shift in the wavefunction of the electron and it is called the Berry phase. I like that you found parallels between the AB experiment and double slit experiment with glass. However, I think a better analog for the light-double slit experiment with glass would be something like electron-dbl slit experiment with an “electron lens” on one of the slits. If you haven’t heard of an electron lens, do check it out! I think you’ll find the concept interesting. In essence, optical microscopes use glass lenses to make the light beams converge, but in electron microscopes the electron beams are made to converge using magnetic fields. So these magnetic fields essentially behave like lenses for electrons. Therefore I think that a better match is the dbl slit experiment with electron lens. … Just something to feed your curiosity😃 Lastly, I think that there will always be certain differences between an electron-wave and a light-wave (unless, perhaps you have thought about it more deeply than I have). One obvious difference is that electrons are fermions so they would obey the Pauli principle, while photons would not.

I am actually a fully qualified applied physicist who uses analogy type reasoning given that theoretical physics is beyond me due to the genius level of mathematics required! Not that that level of maths is really helping anyone nowadays ! So if I can’t explain physics without basic reasoning then I’m sure the physics is wrong! Thats a bold statement obviously but I maintain that nature does not do maths so what is happening in nature has to be an ‘effect’ that takes place of its own accord. We have to model that accord via reasoning, not maths, and the simpler the better. I will check up on electron lenses - not even thought about them in decades! I am also thinking deeply about waves. I like the Pauli exclusion reference - I will have to conjure with that. My deductive reasoning requires a reason for the exclusion as nature doesn’t have a reference manual to refer to to simply make it so. Ditto I have some deep thoughts in electron waves and light waves and I’ll like to run them by you.

I personally think that we may be at that point where the complexity of this mathematics is starting to hold us back from progressing further. And yes! Great Video... Well done.!! I am going to suggest you move the real height of the test to see if the time displacement changes as you go up or down in height. I am guessing you will see a time change in how far it will shift. I am guessing that space time compression or decompression will change how much shift you will have with the same magnetic field. Time speed runs different at different heights. And that is not in the equation at all. You assume there is no space time element attached to this.

We also know the special relativity is not fully correct. Just because GR light violates the speed of gravity lensing. You can't have 2 speeds of light.!!! (unless space time is compressed in some way) The question you have to ask is do electrons follow these rules. We assume they do but do they.? On the atomic scale electrons have a huge field around the center of the atom. How does G effect the fields of an atom and its time domains. The simple fact that G fluctuates causes noise in quantum effects. I know your brain is going to explode over this.....! You have to answer all these questions first before you add a magnetic field to the test.

The electroweak force is much stronger than gravity and why the Higgs mass is stable against quantum corrections. Its one of the reasons Salvatore Pias has the patents he does with the US Navy, exploiting factors of the Quantum Vacuum. The Higgs field is a scalar field that permeates all of space. Electroweak symmetry breaking is a fundamental process in the Standard Model of particle physics that explains how particles acquire mass.

It is indeed a common practice to set A=0 as it simplifies calculations. However, in this specific setup, it’s not just that A need not be 0, but rather A CANNOT be 0. This is due to the arguments we presented in “The Synthesis” section. If you really want to understand this, I would highly recommend you to rewatch “The Synthesis” section. I think the argument presented there is really elegant once you get the hang of it. And of course, if something is still unclear, feel free to ask. I’ll be happy to help😃

Check out the link in the description about the minimal coupling. It answers exactly your question. In essence, the reason is because in classical mechanics, the canonical momentum in presence of a magnetic field is not p, but (p-qA), which is very similar to what we had in the video.

Maxwell didn't define any couriers for the charge force. They're depleted quanta. Charge is an ether wind. The Aharonov-Bohm effect was crucial to me thirty years ago in understanding why physics is failing. Since Maxwell didn't define couriers, it made charge look like a property of space. Einstein followed suit with GR, but he was wrong. Gravity isn't what "warps" space-time, charge does. Gravity is a corpuscular radiation of depleted quanta of opposite handedness that replaces the energy lost to enhancing the energy-density gradient of space via the charge process. The total energy of charge is equal to the total energy of gravity, but because the angular momentum is equal but opposite, they cancel to yield zero. Particles of the same handedness recoil from one another, but particles of opposite handedness are drawn together. So, corpuscular gravity is attractive to objects made of light. Ether drag theories should be a correct interpretation, the Michelson-Morley experiment failed because they did not recognize charge as an ether wind. The luminiferous ether is real, physicists just tossed it out because they didn't recognize an ether wind when they saw one. It's on Maxwell. Physicists would rather die a horrible death than find any flaw in the work of Maxwell or Einstein. Once all the hero-worshipers in physics are in the ground, maybe we'll get the real physics without the obvious errors. Until then, morons will insist that these two men couldn't possibly be mistaken in any way. Even though we know something is wrong, it is a sin in physics to go against the gods, Maxwell and Einstein.

And, did I understand you right that charge warps space-time? How so? However, one point I would disagree upon is whether physicists are reluctant to disagree with Einstein and Maxwell. I don’t think they are. An example is the EPR paradox and Bell’s inequalities.

An elementary particle like a proton or neutron must maintain its energy or it will dwindle away to nothing, which would violate conservation laws. To understand why space-time warps, you have to understand how a quantum of energy works. Let's imagine them as little spinning ping pong balls. We'll make quanta of light left-handed, and a quanta of gravity right handed. If you make a "thumbs up" with your left hand, the curl of your fingers is the angular momentum and the thumb is the direction of linear motion. The scalar energy of the particle is in it's angular momentum, how fast it is spinning. That spin is equivalent to the frequency of the light. The individual quantum can neither be created (except by pair production) nor destroyed, it conserves a small scalar volume that is inversely proportional to the angular momentum. This occurs because the moment of angular momentum of a quanta is conserved at H-bar. By the "moment" of angular momentum, we are talking about a point on the surface of the quantum. If I add energy to a quanta, I am adding angular momentum, increasing the frequency of rotation. To maintain conservation of the moment of angular momentum, the volume must shrink. The faster it spins, the smaller the sphere must be. So, the more energy I add to my ping pong ball, the faster it spins and the more it shrinks. As these depleted quanta of space touch the quarks in the nucleus, they are kicked away, and in that process some small amount of energy is swiped from the nucleus. That extra energy makes the depleted quanta a little more energetic, and a little bit smaller. But it also robs the nucleus of a bit of energy. The closer I get to a mass containing many charged quarks, the more energetic space is. I can pack a lot more marbles into the same volume than I can ping pong balls. The energy-density of space is higher and higher as I approach a planet, and as I dive into a material solid, the marbles become BB's, then grains of sand, which are getting small enough to start interacting with the charged quarks directly. In space, there is considerable mixing of these depleted quanta, if they are of approximately equal energy they can interact and exchange energy, so you get a smoothing function that produces an energy-density gradient. THAT is the warping of space-time. Depleted space is becoming energetically enhanced by charge, reducing the cross section of the corpuscles of light. Now, we can't have elementary particles like protons and neutrons dropping below a certain energy limit. Suppose I take a charge carrier and flip it's handedness as I reflect or deflect it back into space. When the nucleus does this, it gets to add two times the scalar energy of that courier particle to itself. The graviton flies off into space, but it has the opposite handedness of the space-based corpuscles of depleted light. As it interacts with those space-based corpuscles, it cancels some of it's angular momentum with light corpuscles, and we know as we lose angular momentum, those corpuscles must increase their volume to maintain their conserved moment of angular momentum. The result? Space-time expansion. The universe expands because of quantum gravity. What is the "dark energy" that makes the universe expand? Quantum Gravity. Evidence: Physicist know much of this in the form of individual topics, but they aren't clever enough to string the evidence together because they are trying to find a way to make gravity warp space time so it fits GR. GR is mistaken, so it will never fit, and any attempts to make it do so are doomed to failure. But ignorance of gravity as dark energy is causing another disturbance in the form of the Hubble tension. Astronomers assume cosmic expansion is a linear global phenomenon for the universe. That assumption is false. Every time we measure the Hubble "Constant," we get a different measurement. The reason is simple, the more mass along the line of sight of the measurement, the more "dark energy" in the form of gravity, and the faster we measure the expansion rate. The less mass along the line of sight of the measurement, the less "dark energy" in the form of gravity, and the slower we measure the expansion rate. If we use the old "raisin bread" analogy to describe the expansion of the universe, we have to recognize the raisins in the bread are also emitting the yeast, so wherever the raisins clump, the bread expands faster because there is more yeast. It might be more appropriate to call it the "Hubble Average." Now you know what dark energy is, why the universe expands, that warping of space-time is an energy-density gradient, that there actually is a luminiferous ether, meaning ether drag theories have merit and the Michelson-Morley experiment was flawed because charge is an ether wind, why the Hubble tension arises, how to reconcile Quantum Gravity with General Relativity, and why physicists fail to see the light. And it all comes down to an omission of Maxwell which Einstein needed to produce an accurate model for gravity. I told physicists much of this stuff forty years ago, I was ostracized for questioning the validity of Maxwell and Einstein's interpretations, but not before they lifted a bunch of ideas from my work to take credit for. I asked for help, they stole my ideas and branded me a crackpot. They are nothing but a collective of liars and self-aggrandizing thieves. I no longer have anything to do with them, other than laughing at their stupid theories. I guess they did too much acid in their college days. So, you are saying that the magnetic "shield" is inadequate. If there were such a thing as a perfect magnetic shield, magnetic generators and perpetual motion is possible. This must be wrong. I suspect that the detection of waves is negated by measuring waves at a point in time, which, obviously would collapse the waveform, as a wave is T/S, time over Space, which is why Light is considered Energy.. Innit? You cannot deny the pov of the observer. Why not try and formulate an experiment to observe an observer? It would make just the same assumptions.

Good point! Yes, I agree that quantum physics is to some extent incomplete if we neglect the observer. Though the main problem lies in not knowing what it really means to “measure/ observe” a particle. And regarding the shielding: the magnetic shielding is actually assumed to be perfect in the video. So the effect is not due to the magnetic field “leaking out”.

Tbh, I have only thought of it from the theoretical perspective. So I am not sure how they did it experimentally. However, something I can think of off the top of my head is to use long solenoids, since theoretically, infinitely long solenoids have no magnetic fields on the outside. So when you use long solenoid, you may be able to say that the magnetic field outside is too weak to produce the result we see so it must be something else. But not really sure.

Everybody is entirely free to contempt what I'm saying here. Einstein's Invariance-Theory ( he regretted not naming it this ), which guarantees that one's speed is always invariant, always c, just expressing sometimes in time, sometimes in space, for almost-everything in a mixture of the 2 major-dimensions ( photons traveling at c in space are not traveling in time, at all, e.g. ) but the T'hangka paintings of Manjushri/Yamantaka expressed the *same* redshift/blueshift, timedilation/timecompression that Einstein described, the observer-dependency, just doing it within the major-dimensions of Mind/Time/Space. When a wisdom-nature/aspect of OceanOfAllAwakeSouls/Brahman/G-D ( you pick your culture's preferred label ) is meditating.. *a wisdom-nature observer if it* would see the redshifted, timedilated, eternally-unmoving Manjushri. However, a *demon* looking at the *same* "face" ( Buddha ) of OceanOfAllAwakeSouls, would see.. ..blueshifted, ultraviolence, timecompressed, infinite-action-in-the-instant Yamantaka. *Same* origin, just different *observers* seeing it, 1 not-attacking-it, but in timedilation/eternal-harmony with it, the other observer infinite-attacking, seeing completely-different appearance.. --- Entanglement bypasses fields, shielding, distance, etc.. That entanglement demonstrates instantaneous coherency at over-100km, demonstrates that it *isn't* within the Space dimension or the Time dimension. It isn't that it is violating c, rather it is demonstrating that it exists in a dimension entirely perpendicular to both of them. I hold, as AwakeSoulism/Buddhism does, that there are actually 3 major-dimensions: Mind, Time, & Space.. Entanglement & probability-wave exist in the major-dimension Mind, entanglement isn't within the major-dimensions of Time or Space, probability-wave may just be the .. interaction .. between the major-dimensions of Mind & Time/Space. ( hence entanglement's "faster than light" "spooky action at a distance": it's simply in a dimension perpendicular to space, is all: it's all physics, just less "Flatland" than the current-convention holds to be true. Probability-wave & will are the same substance, just at different scales. Entanglement & knowing are the same substance, just at different scales. "Classical physics" with its violation of QM is just a specific entropic entanglement, at our scale. Entropy & Evolution are both time-parity-violating processes which operate at billions-of-years-scale, & are expressing 2 halves of a "symmetry". As I say, everybody is entirely free to contempt everything I've just said, for ideological/belief reasons, or for any other reasons. I rely on what *tests* to be true, including the miditations which provably work, though it took decades to earn useful results, for me.. --- Years ago, a paper hit some science-news that I read, reported on this experiment: Create a sensitive electon-beam, to study the local fields.. Create a superconducting, & shielded, torus, such that current could be moving, ( superconducting means frictionless/resistenceless ). This circling-current *cannot* get out. It affected the electrons, its absence had different effect. BTW, it just dawned on me, that Entanglement/Knowing ( same substance, different scales: Every time a physicalist/existentialist/atheist physicist does the entangled-particles-behaving-as-unitary-whole experiment, & seeing the ideology-violating result, exclaims "How do those particles KNOW?!", that is a Freudian-slip. Damn: I just realized that that explains *why* concentration is THE method for growing "The Kingdom of G-D Within" that meditation is.. The stronger the Concentration, the stronger the Will. Exactly as Electrical & Magnetic fields are .. 2 "sides" of the same thing, so if you increase 1, then you increase the other, it is identical in Knowing & Will, in the Vajrayana way: Amplifying 1 *inherently* is amplifying the other: they're inseparable, that way.. Just to clarify the frame-of-reference of these.. Each instance of Universe is essentially the creation of a set of interacting fields.. The Brahman-Field's particles, particles of primordial-awareness, are what our-world calls: Souls/ChildrenOfG-D/CellsOfG-D/Continuums/EternallyAbidingMinds/etc.. I'm Vajrayana, but absolutely-Empiricist, so WHEN Universe breaks my worldview, I've no choice but to accept its truth better. Unlike the ideology-"science" which rejects evidence that contradicts its axioms.. Mom did all she could to make me Catholic, but deep meditations gave me memories which *didn't even make any sense, because the way senses worked, that-itself, didn't fit human reality*. Years later, I discovered that they were Soul-memories of *other kinds of lives*, thus nuking *all* the Abrahamic religions, for me. That breaking-of-worldview took *years* to adjust to.. Anyways, the Hindu Ramana Maharshi got to the very-bottom of it, as did my guru Padmasambhava, & Buddha Gautama, & countless others, whom we don't know about.. "Maharshi's Gospel" is, while Hindu, the most important book in the entire field of Zen Buddhism, in my eyes: his *whole* method is to meditate until one gets *below* the level at-which "self" exists. So, one ends-up in an awareness which is primordial, & "self"-ness CAN'T exist in it. Anyone who reads & understands the both brilliant & profound "World Religions" by Huston Smith ( that guy didn't "pull any punches" in his writing: it gives one intellectual exercise! ), I read the Hindu, Buddhist, & Primordial Religions chapters, one realizes that what Buddha Gautama was *trying* to communicate .. got *completely replaced* by the "Buddhism" of nowadays.. But the "self"-ectomy he earned, & the one that Ramana Maharshi earned: they're the identical realization! As Buddhas have explained, it isn't that this-continuum has that ultimate-realization & another doesn't: that's completely bogus! Rather, it is that ALL continuums/souls earn ultimate-realization: there isn't any alternative end-state! So, each distortion-in-the-Brahman-field, aka "Soul", gets caught-in, interacting-with, the other fields in Universe, & it is through the *processing* of each particle-of-G-D ( that is unconscious ), through phenomena's action->reaction, cause->effect, what-a-Soul-sows->that-Soul-cannot-escape-reaping, karma, that its Soul-ignosis/ignorance is forced/manufactured into Soul-gnosis/gnosis/realization, & this is a fundamental Universal process, in *all* Universes of this kind ( an endless stream of them, exactly as Hinduism explained, millenia ago ). The 2 time-parity-violating processes, at our scale, which both operate at *billions* of years consistent duration, * Evolution * Entropy both .. in English it works out to "accumulate" .. 1 half of a symmetry: Mindless-matter ends-up ruled & contained within Entropy, but immaterial-awareness-substance ends-up ruled & contained within Evolution. At our level, there are 3 pertinent substances/kinds of mind: * SurfaceMind, which dissipates every few hours, & we conveniently, though incorrectly, identify this as "consciousness" * the underlying LifeMind, which begins forming in conception, & shatters in death, which the ego/SurfaceMind duality blocks/prevents from being conscious, so it operates as our "unconscious", but that configuration is removeable ( the realization of ego-annihilation in Zen removes the configuration, as does what Taisha Abelar called "Crossing Over": it's the *same* phase-change-in-sentience, just from 2 alien-to-each-other cultural-frames-of-reference ) * underlying LifeMind is the Soul/CellOfG-D/ParticleOfBrahman/Continuum/ChildOfG-D/Jiva/Rigpa/etc So, even though we've got an *emergent* superficiality, our identity-crystal ( skeleton ), & on that our ego ( the musculature ), & on that the SurfaceMind ( a mirage-projection that falsely presumes *itself* to be reality ), that emergent-superficiality is dissolveable, through the same fundamental-technology of meditations that was earned by the sages of the subcontinent ( various countries among what we now call India+Tibet+Bhutan+Nepal+++ ) The realization I had that Entanglement & ProbabilityWave are 2 perpendicular things, exactly as ElectricField & MagneticField are, in electromagnetism, & that increasing the power of one's concentration *inherently* increases the power of one's will, because they are 2 "sides" of the *same* field, cracks open something that .. seems to have been not-clarified by .. any? .. branch of AwakeSoulism/Buddhism, at least not in the last few centuries.. So, the whole thing boils down to this: The endless-stream-of-Universes exists *so that* experiencings/realizations can have place to exist/happen in.. Ruler-of-Universes/G-D emits countless ParticlesOfBrahman/Souls/ChildrenOfG-D, & they catch-in phenomena in this endless-stream-of-Universes.. Once a Soul has caught in phenomena, then sow/reap Law, aka karma, aka cause->effect, is acting on it.. which *enforces* the forming/growing of experience-induced-understanding in it, which is the Realizing-process, & eventually, Eternity-scale, every single ParticleOfBrahman/Soul realizes that there is no identity-crystal/"self", & it succeeds in dissolving itself into the BrahmanField, aka G-D. So, just as Universes is cyclic, so-to is the life of the ParticlesOfBrahman/Souls.. Everything's cyclical, but some cycles are 1-shot ( each Universe exists only once, each Soul climbs "down Jacob's Ladder" ( going down into ignosis/matter-dominion-life ) & then "up Jacob's Ladder" ( climbing Realization-process ) until it "returns home", but *aware*.. The "Prodigal Son" story is just a Christian metaphor about an *individual* Soul/ParticleOfBrahman doing the going-down-Jacob's-ladder thing, ending up trying to find real-happiness in *external* phenomena, & failing ( thus proving that "The Kingdom Of G-D *isn't* Without/External" ), then turning within, & successfully climbing the "inner mountain" of realizing, to successfully return "home" ( thus proving that "The Kingdom of G-D IS Within", earnable through meditation ). The language of benJoseph's explanations was not the impersonal/scientific style I prefer, he wasn't speaking for me, he was speaking to, & for, local people, right? So, he ( & the people before him, explaining either directly or through unconscious-vision-dream metaphors ) explained in metaphor. But it's consistent, all the true-sages, through many millenia, all describing the *same* reality, just in different languages.. --- Anyways: given that deep-contemplation/concentration *inherently* improves will's power, therefore motivation to go deeper in the meditations is increased.. I want to break phenomena-emprisonment, aka reincarnation-imprisonment, of my continuum. Scientism, with its Physicalism/Existentialism/Atheism ideology, *prohibits* awareness, being immaterial, from being "real". Therefore, no experiment which *is made of* mind's development "can" ever be valid, in Scientism. "it is known that knowing doesn't exist!" is a gaslighting that Scientism holds-to. Of course it presumes that its knowing that knowing-doesn't-exist is valid, & that that exempt knowing vetoes ALL *other* knowing.. Of course!.. Awareness & knowing are indivisible, though Robert Kegan's research have shown multiple *phases* of awareness through human-category life.. but the phases don't end where Kegan stopped: they keep going, incorporating more & more dimensions into them, so that Kegan0 is the immediate-awareness of infants, who can't understand that things continue-existing when they can't see them.. whereas Kegan3 is the social-sentience-dependent-on-associating-with-validity of cows, & post-adolescents.. whereas Kegan4 is the bulling-against-others-proving-one's-exclusive-validity ( he never connected his unconscious-mind-development-stages with cows & bulls: I earned the direct-meditation-experience of limbic-brain/mind, & connected them, because that is exactly what Kegan3 & Kegan4 are: limbic-brain-sentience-phases ).. whereas Kegan5 is the unconscious-mind-development of accepting & understanding systems-of-systems, not anymore mere-herd-beast-validities.. But the minds earnable beyond Kegan5.. Exactly as the experimenters we call "sages" or "rishis" or "Buddhas" or "arhats" or "moksha experiencers" etc.. exactly as they described: there *are* stages beyond what Robert Kegan realized, including Bodhichitta ( the sentience that benJoseph called being "born in Spirit": once one has experienced it, one *cannot* mistake it for anything else ) Our narcissism has presumed that "what we already know" is the *whole* of the spectrum.. but it isn't! It never was. We're just at the bottom of a spectrum that goes sooo far beyond anything our industrial-age sentience allowed.. that it'd bruise our ego to *admit* the spectrum is huge! Anyways, dig into the theta-brainwave meditations, finding the inner-light, subtle as it is, & begin activating the genes which grow-in one's ushniisha, one's CrownProtrusion, & as one's *upper* brain grows-in, which takes decades, one's spiritual-capabilities grow. Doing the experiment, & earning the result, *categorically* outclasses ideological axiom-prohibitions against Universe's phenomena working that way. In Science, anyway. Perhaps the only thing I understood is that there are some parallels between teachings of buddhism, hinduism etc and quantum physics. Did I get that right? I think the reason I am unable to understand your discussion is because my understanding of hinduism, buddhism etc. is not as deep as yours. You made a video only for people that already understand, I took electronic engineering many years ago. And I don't remember what definitions for each one of your symbols they are. I seen the same equation used over and over with different variables in the same places. So if you're trying to explain how something works you're wasting your time if you don't have a listening to the variables and what they represent down the side of the equation.. Without the variable definitions added, your video means nothing to somebody that does not already understand that equation..!

Seems like quantum mechanics is not even necessary to understand this. Isn't the A vector potential a result of a relativistic view Maxwell's equations? So it should affect the electron, either with or without quantum mechanics, should it not? The curl of the magnetic field and the time rate of change of the electric field are related by Ampere-Maxwell law. So a magnetic field always curls around something. That something must be either a current or a change in time of the electric field, and so it is no surprise that there must be some region adjacent to this circle where there is a current or a change in time of the E field.

Yes, but it would be quite strange to disregard quantum effects on a channel called World of Quantum😄 On a more serious note, one crucial difference is that without QM, you would only expect 2 slits on the screen and not an interference pattern, since you are not accounting for wave nature of electrons. So in terms of explaining experimental results, that would be quite inaccurate.

Honestly.. I have a question.. Won't that circle containing magnetic field affect the trajectories of electrons and mess with them through the double slit and maybe change the result too? Thanks for the support💚 And yes, you are right. The circle/enclosure, which is there to keep the magnetic field confined will interact with the incoming electron. However, that is not a problem. In the first run of the experiment, we still have the circle, it’s just that the magnetic field is off. In the second run, we turn on the magnetic field and the circle is ofc present. So whatever effect the circle has on the experiment is present in both trials. In essence, we are comparing the result of having “double slit+circle” vs “double slit+circle+magnetic field”.

I have a problem with the double slit experiment. A laser in ONE hole makes interference pattern. WHY? Don't believe me? Remember the point of double slit experiment is to determine if the thing you send in (electron, light etc.) is a wave or not. I understand your question as being something along the lines of: "if 1 slit can make interference pattern, then ofc 2 slits will too". However, the point is that the double slit experiment produces the interference pattern ONLY when what you send in is a wave. If you send in particles through the slits, you will just get 2 slits on the screen. When Young sent light through the slits, he didn't know if light was wave or not. The result was an interference pattern and therefore light had to be wave.

So we are comparing the results of the interference pattern formed without the magnetic field(but electron still can’t be in the enclosure) and of interference pattern with the magnetic field(which is applied only in the enclosure).

That would have certainly made the treatment more complete, however it was dropped for the sake of conciseness of the video. Hopefully it didn't sacrifice the understandability

@@WorldofQuantum6.62e-34 Yes, I understand that all the necessary theory for a completely strict description will not fit even into a 3-hour video. It’s just that in this case, the statement of the problem “there is a magnetic field in this region, but in another region it is not” hints at the discontinuity of the magnetic field and therefore, in my opinion, it is still worthwhile to discuss in more detail the application of Stokes’ theorem. However, it's up to you to decide, overall the video is very good.

It's almost like the lesson here is that you can't really enclose a magnetic field, so saying it was a closed magnetic field was wrong in the first place.

Yes, there's obviously still magnetic field there. The electrons get deflected by Lorentz magnetic force law. (Supposedly the B field might be pointing down. The pattern will shift.) The electrons are bouncing off the atoms of the graphite crystal slit.

​@@YawnGodand that's why we don't follow the de broglie sect. They get indoctrinated into the faith of de broglie at the universities. And now they have trouble understanding double slit experiments. What I am saying is all quantum physics students should get baptized into the faith of our holy Lawrence Bragg. He received the Bragg's law from the most high. The atomic layers of the graphite crystal have the atomic diagonals that form the "interference pattern." Now we understand the meaning: the electrons behave like waves. (Maybe students will never understand this and will be confused and delusioned all their life 😢) Everyone that understands me will give me a like. Average intelligence will not. Lol

Wait a second. You said there being a magnetic field means that the vector potential must be non zero, even where there is no magnetic field. But even without that magnetic field in the experiment, there are still other magnetic fields in the universe. Don't they require the vector potential to be non zero? In other words, how can the vector potential be zero anywhere in the universe?

Not a physicist here, is it possible to confine a magnetic field in such a perfect way that it's not only transparent to but electrons can't even sense it and just poke through?

@@evasuser Not sure I understand what you mean by “poke through”. However, if you are asking whether it’s possible to enclose the magnetic field as in the video, then one solution would be to have an infinitely long solenoid. Ofc, not possible in practice but we can approximate the effect by using a very long solenoid.
