THE CRAZY FRIENDLY DEER 

F Rest in peace fella. I'm glad he at least got a nice last meal and some love.

We have tons of semi-tame deer here in Cody, Wyoming. They walk up and down the sidewalks, through yards and parking lots, and they usually wait for traffic to clear before they cross the street. These animals are simply learning to co-exist with humans and to benefit by it. Most folks love having them around which makes it mutually beneficial. There are always risks in life and government mommies want to protect us children from harm, but hey government... eat a bucket of turds and shut the hell up. I'll take my chances with the deer, they're considerably less harmful than lawyers and politicians!

He didn't deserve to die because the conservation officer said so. How awful. I'm so mad. The deer didn't do anything wrong or dangerous.

A wild buck willing to let people pet him! Never ever seen one so gentle in any video! It's such a shame he's gone, but I like to believe he's in a better place and happy now. Where-ever he is.

The deer had no signs of rabies. It seemed as though it was possibly raised by someone and let go. It definitely should not have been destroyed!

It wouldn't have been difficult to catch and release him in a better area. He doesn't look sick to me.

This deer may have had friendly experiences early in life with people (yes, this happenes). Maybe he was rescued as a fawn from private people who raised him for a while. Or his mother was tame and he learned to trust humans that way. Or he was ill/slightly mentally disabled. Could be many things. Shame they killed him.

Oh, there's a harmless deer roaming around bringing joy to people all around? *F***ing kill it.* Seriously, why is "Kill it" always the #1 solution?

At the least this animal could have been relocated. Some "conservation officers" killed about 20 ducks in a park area where I live. Hugh backlash

what conservation department would this be? how do we contact them and complain? this is evil and should be posted on a petition website to expose the evil entity who uses our tax dollars to murder such a beautiful gentle creature. I am just livid.

Thank you guys for being so nice to the deer! You guy's voices sound so warm and happy to see the deer and it makes it feel warm and welcome. It must be very hungry too and that was very nice of you guys for letting it eat all it wanted like home town buffet! When we do good things we feel good and it makes others feel good. We need to be kind to all animals and our life will be great………..

At our place in Colorado, I don't think any of the animals are scared of people. last week, some deer, antelope, and quail all walked up just a few yards from us. They looked at us then just kept eating! Flocks of wild turkey just saunter across the road, slow as they please while the cars wait for them to pass. The only animal I saw moving fast was a roadrunner...I think that is just the way they move, it wasn't because he was scared LOL.

"GAH! a deer in our town, it will kill/hurt everyone" 7 bil people on this planet and we can't accept one deer that walks around in town? If we wan't a planet in harmony... Than we also have to accept the animals. We are suppose to follow the nature, not the other way around.. -.-

Not sure exactly from what I am seeing. But based on his weight, his perceived age, and behavior. He may have not been in the best health. But either way. Thats really poor that 'conservation' officers killed this animal. The government shoves it's nose into many areas that it has little to no business. They're just overbearing pricks.

This deer was obviously is from a rescue and release. He is used to humans.

At my Mom's and step Dad's house, they have like 5 Deers walking in their yard and my Step Dad actually feeds them either out of his hand or he'll lay out food for them to eat. They still get pretty spooked, but after a few months or more, they recognize my Step Dad and knows he's no threat. There is a little boy deer that is slowly growing out his antlers. It looks like 2 bumps, so cute.

Its normal to see it in Colorado mountain area. People had feeding container in their front yard. Even saw bear once.

Usually people who are raised around wildlife know better than to go up and try to pet them. That “Dude, hold my beer and watch this” thing can go so wrong, so incredibly fast. And most people don’t even realize that even a very small dog can look like a threat to a doe. I once saw the skull of a Yorkshire Terrier split open by a new mama whose fawn was laying in the flower bed nearby. The dog caught the scent of the fawn and just started to walk over in that general direction - when Mama Doe charged the Yorkie and kicked it in the head, splitting that little skull right open. It was awful and not a thing that anyone could do for that little guy, he was dead, no matter how hard his STUPID owner stood there and screamed her head off. We told that knucklehead to put her dog on a leash but do people listen, nooooo. Finally someone got a paper bag so she could scoop up what was left of her dog’s brains and carry it away. No more Yorkie for YOU, knucklehead! There’s a buck w/a nice rack that sometimes lays around on the lawn in front of the courthouse - you can’t walk up to him, in fact if you stand there and stare at him too long he’ll get up and move, but he’s not afraid of people. When he walks through downtown traffic, people just stop and let him come on through, and why not? If you hit him w/your car it’ll just tear up your car. But going around trying to make pets of them, that’s a REALLY bad idea. Don’t do that, people. It never ends well for the animal, either. As you can see for yourselves.....

My Uncle tried to do something very similar with a deer on our farm... It ended with him getting his butt stomped, a black eye, and lasting scars on his chest. FYI deer can clear 10 foot fences and can use those same strong legs to kick the sheet out of you! So don’t try this at home kids.

When my son was about 10, he and my grand-daughter came to the house with a ruffed grouse. They said it just sat there and they picked it up. We all held it and then let it go. A few weeks later, a friend of mine was cutting wood on our land, and he comes to the house holding this grouse, obviously the same one. He said it just sat there and let him pick it up. I guess some animals are born without that fear of man, like the Bible says (Genesis 6:2).

Since this male deer was so tame, maybe the officers were afraid come mating season this deer might hurt someone. Male deer can get pretty aggressive during mating season. Another possibility, maybe the deer was sick and they thought it was best to put him down.

This is why when I rescued three, one week old bobcats I took them to the house. That was two years ago. Mother was hit by a vehicle that was driving in front of me. They didn’t even stop. I’m glad I did.

If the officers worried that a child could be hurt... Ok. But, someone else should have taken him to their farm... an adoption. Animals like this would rather be fed, anyway.

My son and granddaughter were once walking on our land and came upon a ruffed grouse that had no fear of humans. They picked it up and brought it to the house to show us. It was totally healthy but just had no fear. Months later a friend was cutting wood on our land and he walks up to the house with the same grouse in his arms. Strangest thing.

Deer have to lay down after they eat in order to digest the food ....but they usually do it in heavily wooded areas...this looks like a younger buck who recently was ousted by the bigger buck in his herd.It seems this deer has been around humans he seems to have no fear of them.I hope that works our for him!Great video
