That shot of the Gen Lee jumping with the row of white buildings in the background is in Clinton, Louisiana, where much of the movie was shot. It's about 50 minutes north of Baton Rouge. There marks where that car landed are still gouged into that street in that little town. He says Baton Rouge is 40 minutes from New Orleans. Try an hour and 15 minutes, if you're really hauling ass. Usually it's 1.5 hours, even more at rush hour. Everyone of the cast was nice as could be except for Mrs. Simpson. She was a royal ryymes-with-runt.

it would work, but it would need to be some sort of 40 years later reboot with the flag changed on the general lee, as hard as it is to say something like the lindsay lohan reboot of herbie, a generation or 2 later finding the general as a barn find, and starting from there, maybe daisy, luke or bo's kids finding the car parked up, and deciding to take it racing.

DragoserakerIT my idea is a tad more drastic, new place such as Australia, Bo moved there with his wife who died, his son is off doing something, meanwhile Luke’s son in Hazzard gets in trouble and sent to Australia, then focusses on gaining each other’s trust etc, Luke’s son makes a best friend. That way the General Lee can still be in the show, either in Georgia or imported to Australia and now sits in the barn, which means we can make a new car for the show which takes the lead, which is why I picked Australia because that way it can be a ute 😂

I loved the Dukes of Hazzard remake, mainly because I grew up with a family who steeped me in the dukes of hazzard but also grew up in time to see stifflers classic cameos in American pie movies and to see the jackass tv show. I thought it was edgy and modern, which isn’t exactly a bad thing lol

Very cool background story. I remember when the movie was being filmed. There was a lot of hype around here. The Ford Mustang with Boss Hogg's face on it is still sitting at Manchac Mustangs in Galvez. On a side note though. Moonlight Inn is in French Settlement not Clinton which is a little over an hour north.

I do too. I watched the show as a kid in the early 2000's when the movie came out. I saw it for the first time last year and I absolutely enjoyed it. While it had more adult humor in it, I thought it was a fantastic love letter to Dukes, as well my favorite movie Smokey and the Bandit, which I thought Burt Reynolds did a fine job playing Boss Hogg. Too bad there was never a proper sequel to the 2005 movie. I've never understood the hate for it, unless they watched the R rated version as opposed to the theatrical PG-13 rated version that I watch.

I just ran into an 87 year old man Monday October 19th 2020 named Ed Hines Sr at the gas station and he gave me 1 of his booklets about his crown Victoria that he put 1,015 000 miles on with original engine and transmission - he was driving a mercury grand marquis ☺️
