The Crazy World of CEX: Episode 1 - Chelmsford, Coventry & Norwich 

Catching up on this series now; I have watched episode 2 ahead (Cambridge), and now this one. Amazing to see the variety in CeX stores. And look at Koudelka rearing its head again at 6:30 I really hope I can find a copy in the wild, as it is much more exciting than buying online.

I'm a big fan of CEX. I live in Birmingham near the Kings Heath branch and there are 6 stores within 4miles from my house.

Great video mate that snes was really clean! Always makes me laugh when they get funny about you holding things 🤣 I’ve had it a few times where they won’t let me hold the disc to check for scratches etc I wonder if they get many people grabbing discs/controllers and running away 😂

I can’t believe how big CEX is in Coventry. I will definitely have to make a special visit. The CEX where I live is tiny compared to all the CEX’s you showed us in the video. I still can’t believe the how big the DVD section is on the third floor in CEX in Coventry 😂

I’m invested in this series. I’m the same. Always go to cex store when I go somewhere new. I’ve been to the Coventry one a few times.. picked up some board games from there for a decent price 👌🏻

Great to see some different stores, we occasionally get to the Chelmsford store which, this way is a big store compared to others. A cracking condition snes console added there, getting difficult to find them in that condition. Nice one 😉👍

I know the Chelmsford cex very well (though its not the smallest). Chelmsford has some nice charity shops dotted around the area. Barnados near Asda in Chelmer Village often has decent games in stock (though prices can be a little steep). The SNES is such a nice console to collect for, especially if you manage to find the games cheap or in a joblot. .

My favourite one has to be the one in Cardiff, mainly because they had wwe belts and memorabilia in the windows. This was the weekend of clash at the castle. Very cook what they did

Nice pick ups Dan, can't go wrong with the Snes, one of the best consoles ever. I saw that Resident Evil for the Saturn this week in the Norwich branch and was pretty tempted, but left it too long and it was gone. You snooze you lose haha.

i went to the one in west bromwich it was quite small but it had the items i was looking for. the town/city has a huge centre of 3 malls,new square,queens square and kings square shopping centre and dont forget X-change. a great friendly little shop but lacks size and needs more customers and gives more than cex for trade-in. im a regular of theres and i hope they do better.

11:28 the reason they use those cases is incase somebody steals the artwork or case they cannot reprint the sleeves therefore making them un sellable (this may of been already answered)

If you want to see a small CEX you should visit my local ones in Wellingborough and Kettering

Every Single CeX has those squeaky gates. 😂 And when it comes to my favourite CeX store it has to either be Norwich (My local) or Ipswich as they often have lots of uncommon games in, same with Great Yarmouth.

I was in Middlesbrough today and there's two CEX stores literally within 2 minutes walk of each other. I have to say, although you say that Chelmsford store is small.... It's at least twice the size of any local to me, they're always tiny and single floored.

Still can't quite believe a snes commands 3 figures these days but agree it's hard to find one that's not discoloured in the sun. Makes me want to start zelda all over again

That Ratatouille for the gamecube in the first cex store was pretty neat since it's a French exclusive. You say it's a small but in the Netherlands I don't think we even have a single cex that big 😂.

Ah no way man you're almost in my neck of the woods there (Chelmsford)...I tell you for what seemed like years, the window of that Cex in Chelmsford had a copy of Snatcher for Mega CD with £300 on it, I wonder if they ever sold it? And yeah, to me, that store is HUGE! My local one is tiny in comparison

Another great vid Dan! My CEX in Ayrshire, Scotland is a hell hole but my friend works there so can't hate it too much 😂. Also I got DOLMEN for £8 too on xbox, I liked the art, it's a souls like game and is very challenging but rewarding!

Open up the Snes and see if it's a 1 chip model, they're worth more than the other version.

First of all, I wish there was a CEX in America because the store looks awesome. Second, a typical SNES console here is $100; I'm not sure what that equates to in the UK. Eventually, I may get a SupaBoy and start a SNES collection. Lastly, I keep forgetting how high your voice is... I need to watch more of your videos.

I live in Coventry and go to CeX quite a bit. This is quite cool. There's two other CeX stores in Coventry as well btw Reprinted covers can kiss my ass though

If you thought Chelmsford cex was small , you should check out CEX burton on Trent , that’s the smallest one I’ve been to

I do go to my local cex stores a lot(Grimsby and Scunthorpe) i am at mainly Grimsby one because its nearer and a near a game store.

It’s pronounced as maul, like darth maul. Spelt as mall.

Trying to find physical releases for games for recently released playstation vr 2 is pretty hard and playstation vr 2 is great in my opinion.

Dolman is a gunsligging Dark Souls style games. Pretty good game but the controls are a little janky

Yeah that ps5 game is £8 for a reason super terrible, but suppose its nice for the collectors as it will likely be rare in years down the line.

I have no reason to buy a gamecube or gamecube games, as I have a modded wii, and I can pirate any game I want from any region.

CEX Gump.............. ''CEX stores is like a box of chocolates..... ya neva know wacha gunna get'' In my case, every time i go, it is like the TK Max of gaming.... By that i mean there is s##t everywhere and is always out of stock lol

I personally dislike CEX,my reason being is I feel they control the market of prices on games etc in the country. You can hardly find a good bargain on eBay or on facebook market place anymore because every thinks if they charge what CEX are selling at they will get it and when you offer them a bit lower then what theyre asking on facebook they say "oh well I can sell it at CEX for ££". Just very annoying, also whenever I have bought any hardware from them it has always been faulty, one time I bought a graphics card plugged it in and it blew my pc up and I ended up having to fork out for the repair and when we took the graphics card back to the store they said it wasn't even meant to be sold? Why was it even on display then. Also to add on, many charity shops now a days sell anything they get straight to them or they sell it on musicmagpie etc I get they need to make their money but the only thing I ever see in charity shops gaming wise is a graveyard of fifa games and wii fit which some shops even charge £2 for, no one is going to buy these.

Buy all their stock and trade nothing in.
