I love the way you break down words, I also have a "Complete Jewish Study Bible", and I'm sure you have this bible as well, breaking down the scripture is truly time-consuming. copying from another...consider this and let me know your thoughts. God bless you. God was not finished... this is not a reiteration. For we can see in Genesis 1:26-27 that the male and female was created in the image and likeness of God, they were created as spirit-beings. Chapter 2 says on the 7th day, God rested from all He had done. The Lord God continues to work with His creation. A spirit-being must have a body to operate in the earth, God takes spirit-male and formed him, breathed in him and we get the Man-Adam/male -- now he is spirit, soul and body. The Woman is not an "afterthought" however, she was concealed until all things were ready. Adam was working, God gave him a place to live and he was to dress the garden. Then, God put him in a deep sleep... God performed surgery, no blood was shed. The Woman, taken out of Adam...was built and made her debut as Bride (God brought her to him.) Woman went from Bride to Wife, just like that. Also, because woman came from man - she came in spirit, soul and body. That breathe of life was received was enough for the male and the female. The male and female were given dominion etc. at the same time. Genesis 1 -- they were created spirit Genesis 2 - became human beings: spirit, soul and body. Thank God for the commentaries ...better is His Word... the Bible is better. Nothing like His Word. Thank you... Blessings.
