You should have referenced the "Mary Tyler Moore Show". Mary was the quintessential 70's Barbie doll plus, she worked in a newsroom. Merry Christmas to you and your family. See you in the New Year. 😘
Absolutely love you and your content Beth!!! You’re so Amazing and I actually sometimes just have your videos on repeat when I’m painting or doing things around the house. Merry Christmas to you and your family!!!❤
I love this idea of creating characters, you have inspired me to create one of my own. I live in Colorado and lived in New Mexico for a while and so based on a fun skirt I recently thrifted I have come up with a Santa Fe art gallery owner who relaxes in Rocky Mountain National Park when she needs to get away. Thank you Beth for your great content, you are so inspiring and creative! ❤❤
There is no one like you on you tube - your unique creativity with style and thrifting and your process is so inspiring! I know the shorter tik tok videos are more current but the longer videos here are so helpful with a deeper dive into content. I can't believe its been almost 10 years! Of course I love it all. I found you on youtube about 5 years ago and look forward to Thursdays every week! My cousin had never been thrifting (she's 62!) and her homework was to watch one of your recent thrifting videos with special attention to the men's section before we went. We went yesterday (to a bigger city) and had a blast! She found a pair of men's 501's and then some pleated trousers that were both PERFECT! There were other great finds and a "how to" before starting from my favorite expert was the ticket! Please keep thrift like a stylist! I have learned so much from you! And love the character dressing - I'd love to see you go on safari like a modern Out of Africa. Every year you do something creative and new and can't wait to see what you show us in 2024! Merry Christmas!🎄
Hail to the queen 👸! Please continue to bring all the amazing fashion creations relating to your inspirational characters. That's what draws me to your channel, nobody else out there has this kind of content, don't change the recipe lol. That's your jam, your niche!❤️🔥 I'm on the edge of my seat and hungry for more! You're coming up Beth... those Gucci square toe sling backs are so good! 😍 Happy holidays, see you next year🎉
Your rack had inspired me earlier to gather all my sparkly, velvety, “rich” clothes to wear for Nov, Dec and Jan - to celebrate the season so to speak - it’s been a lot of fun and cuts down on decision time…most days 😊
Since watching you I’ve gotten braver with what I wear and compliments galore. Since kid years I’ve hidden behind clothes because of baby pouch area but recently said forget it and dress how i want to and it’s been so much fun getting my fun and funky style back. Thank you!!!
Another quintessential stylish, strong New Yorker woman was Marlo Thomas, who had her own TV show, "That Girl"! Her wardrobe was incredible, with matching suits and lots of 70s print mixing. She's still so inspiring today! Thank you for sharing another fantastic styling video, love everything you do! Merry Christmas Wishes and Warmest New Year to you and your sweet family!💐🎄🦌🎅🥂✨️🎊
Not too many channels for thrift store shopping for men on current trends. Besides for reselling or finding name brands. But if you would like Beth, an inspiration or a template of a person, or icon. I would like to see you play dress up to, is little Edie from Grey Gardens. I wouldn't prefer an exact mimic. But a re-purpose of clothing. ie.. a sweater becoming a skirt, turtle neck underneath a swimsuit, ect. She's my icon for 2nd hand. Way before the current trend.
Thank you for dressing the journalist at the end. I don't have Instagram and only watch you on RU-vid so it was great to be able to see the character👌✅❤
This is my favorite aspect of your channel!...the creation of a character. You do it so well. Next in line is your creative home. Thanks Beth for adding fun to our days❤
Hi Beth. Love everything you do. You are certainly a 5 star stylist. I absolutely love the 40s era of style. The clothes. Cinched in Waistlines. The shoes, the longated gloves the stockings, the coats, brooches, the handbags , the hairstyles and bold lipsticks 💄. If anyone can pull this look off it is you. You have the perfect height and figure. Perhaps for 2024 lets see you pull this amazing style together
Hi Beth, great video, very inspiring. Could you show us more home decor inspiring videos? Some thrifting videos with theme? Have nice holidays with your loved ones. Thanks for another year of creativity. See you next year then. 🎄🎁🎉🎊
Я рада что нашла Ваш канал за много тысяч километров ❤ счастливого Рождества и весёлых праздников. Продолжайте радовать своим творчеством.Вы необыкновенная!!
Happy Christmas Beth! 🎄 I’m so excited to see what the new year brings. I’ve been with you here on RU-vid for a good few years now and I’m always ready for more 🥰
Greetings from Poland! Love your channel. I really like home decor videos. Your house is unique. I enjoy looking at it so I hope that you shall continue sharing your interiors with us. Thank you.
I like this. I wish i had the space to play " dress up" but i dont so i bypass a lot of great pieces unfortunately.. an idea might be getting creative within a limited wardrobe... Always watch you because you have such great energy and your videos are a mental getaway for me.. 💯 👍!!!
More thrifting for your home would be great - dinnerware, art, etc. And I loved you thrifting "Gucci", it would be great to see you thrifting pieces and outfits similar to more obscure designers that not everyone is familiar with. Love the characters, please keep them coming! Always look forward to your videos
Beth, I absolutely adore you. You are the person who inspires me most on RU-vid for sure! I understand that you have different platforms, but please don't make me change platforms to see the results. I took the time out of my day to view your hard work, please value my time as well. Merry Christmas.
I would love to see you do a color analysis consultation then styling every subsection for each color season. I feel like that’d be so informative/helpful & quite popular
love this kind of video and everyday dressing are very inspiring!! please do one for holliday dressing and dressing on living in a farm in a cold place ! grettings from the mountains of Costa Rica! ps, that red sweter is amazing !
Maybe it's just me but I'm missing the "what I wore in a week" and more styling videos in general. There's an abundance of thrifting content, but it would be great if balanced with more styling eg "How to Style a Maxi Skirt in X ways" . Your style/creativity is what makes your channel stand out. ✌🏾🖤
Beth i love your channel. You style The BEST looks. Maybe you could do an episode creating modern, flattering looks for different body types and like maybe a collab.
Hello Beth! I’m a new subbie so I don’t know if someone has already asked about this character but could you create a character who is a 1980s music mogul who also is a musician? She is an alternative/new wave singer songwriter. I was in my 20’s in the 80’s and loved the boldness of the colors and shapes. Thanks!
I’m channeling this for sure. Thinking Spanish grandmother and inspo came from a short colourful dress with fringe at the bottom and on the belt! HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!
Why are there several sentences crossed out in my comments. What was crossed out wasn't in any way controversial, questionable...no slander, negativity, calling names, being racist, classist, bogus...or laced with profanity or ranting. I'm confused. Do others see what I wrote with lines through it, or is that only me?.
HI Beth. I love what you're doing and I watch all the time. What you put together was fabulous for today's stylistic freedom. I would say, your look was good for a fashion journalist in the 70s; however, for an out-on-the-streets news journalist who wanted to be taken seriously, she would have been aware not to have big bows, big buttons, swirly-whirly skirts and appear too feminine--that skirt, to me, was a big no-no. Moving fast, it might get caught in doors, stepping on it as you hurriedly exit a chair or car, lightweight enough to fall prey to a sudden up-blast of wind. Remember women at that time were competing with men who did not take them seriously. They wore clothes that wouldn't trip them up or point to their femininity "Save me." Women in the 70s almost went overboard to look dull. I think most wore pant suits-- I think more freedom came in 80s and 90s. I think one could still have fun in how we dressed in the 70s (I was working in corporate offices) but I think "tailored" was the key back then for women in the workplace. Unfussy. Your earrings were real gold, but not too big or complicated. Your clothes items were well-made, but not showy and never ever fragile. Low-heeled, but smart, shoes--actually sneakers were big back then for running reporters (Reeboks?). The handbag was very important. A good leather--like a Coach, maybe the small briefcase with leather handles, for both men and women, and a shoulder bag. You're right sunglasses were very important to style. And I would've gone for a trench coat or other all purpose coat. tailored wool button fronts were still worn a lot as well--from Brooks Brothers? I probably would have looked at Lauren Hutton for the 70s instead of Annie Hall. Just my thoughts on this particular character dressing. But I love what you do. You give me so many ideas!!!!
Hey love watching your videos only I watch them on tv and I dont know how to subscribe on tv any way I would love to see you doing a teacher , with a long ruler in hand lol also a cute 60 s look with mini skirt and boots 😂 , and a whimsical Cinderella look you will make a pretty Cinderella keep up the fun !🎉😂😂
I love all your stuff and follow you on whatnot but you completely missed Mary Tyler Moore, who was such a huge influence during that time. Especially for single working women. Really disappointing.
I’ve watched almost everything you ever did and here is my critique you are very good but .... You have a tendency to put on too much, you get to a very good looking look and then you put something more on and it ruins everything. You don’t know how to wear a hat properly. You say the words « fun » and « moment » too much. You rely on Cary Bradshaw too much. You need to get over Gucci and experiment with other designers. The movement’s of your arms get annoying after a while. There’s more but that’s it for now. Keep up the good work, you inspire so many.
