Funny. This movie wasn’t made to coincide with current AI criticisms or go along with it. Remember he wrote this 5 years ago. So the movie coming out now just coincidentally made its debut when actors and writers are striking about AI.
Glad to hear this seems to be a film worth checking out. At the time this film was being made, I’m guessing it was at least following down the well worn path of works like Bladerunner and the Ghost in the Shell stories of AI sentience being portrayed in a more sympathetic light as we/humanity struggles to incorporate this new life/info into its definition. Also, I spent the entire time trying to get a better look at Perri’s shirt to try and figure out what it was referring to even as it was obscured by the mic 😅
The reason this film doesn't touch on the more recent developments of Ai is that it was written in 2018 and filmed in 2020, so long before all the Ai art and Chat GPT and voice-cloning musician stuff started happening, it's not reasonable to suggest that it should've spoken on these things
Perri this movie seems far in the future may be why the current talk of AI isn't brought up? We are in early stages of AI in reality! I personally don't think it's reality that AI will take over the earth Ala Terminator.
I watched it tonight and I loved the film. It’s an amazing sci-fi movie with heart and soul and truly stands apart from anything like it. There’s visual cues to Blade Runner and other sci-fi greats . Beautifully shot and acted. Must see
Mixed feelings. I feel like movies based on IP are sometimes better than original sci-fi. This was depressing, too violent and not great. Perhaps we should find a different way besides our money to have Hollywood make better original movies. Right now, I am fine with all the movies based on existing IP because they sometimes are better than the original movies we get.
