tc1 shutting down caused a lot of backlash and people took action legally with the stop killing games campaign, they're getting sued, i hope they will add an offline patch to the crew games (tc1 is lost cause cuz they revoked licenses) these games are art
Many felt the same way about the Crew 1, that even had a single-player story campaign, and yet it still didn't get an offline mode despite that many begged for it for a decade.
Why point the finger at Ivory Tower when Ubisoft is to blame? IVT develops the game and follows or meets the requirements of Ubisoft and Ubisoft calls the marketing shots. IVT didnt' delist TC1, Ubisoft did.
@@yongling9825 no it shouldn't have nor it should be. But SidWaj's here is pitting the blame on IVT when in fact others like BlackPanthaa for example know they're just the developers and that Ubisoft calls the shots and IVT just follows being their in house prod crew
@@MyogiWarrior34yeah, but, and hear me out here They accepted that buyout and the reputation hits that will come from being owned by ubisoft Keep hitting ivory, just hit ubisoft too.
I started playing The Crew 1 in May 2020. I caught it on sale for $12 so I figured even if it was bad no real loss....I can honestly say that The Crew revived my love for racing games. I never cared much for Forza Horizon, Need for Speed had fallen off (and after playing Shift I lost all interest), and everything else was more touring car/GT/Le Mans focused or just trying too hard to be simulation instead of arcade. Then at the end of October 2020 I caught The Crew 2 gold edition on sale and figured since I liked the first then I'd probably enjoy the second...I didn't like how the story element was dropped but overall the game is great and having the entire USA as the map was such a fun feature compared to a single city, tri-city area, walled tracks, or island. The Crew definitely did some things better than 2 and vice versa...I hope Motorfest gets better quickly because so far the game has been fairly lackluster between limited playlists, limited roaming due to downsized map, parts/money grinding, vanities purchased with crew credits only and not bucks, street tier 1 and 2, new cars being limited by manufacturers or by spec, and cars limited to certain specs when they could work easily in others as well.
I have no issue with TC2 no longer updating since motorfest is the new game and stuff but like when the time will come, we can atleast have an offline mode.
The crew2 was my first crew game to I played it since I was ten five years later and now nothing I earned is going to be a good thing I got every race completed and got every car now it's time to get that in motorfest
Can I just point something out? The other day I was prepping a future Motorfest episode and needed to snag the game credits. There was, and I am not making this up, FORTY-FIVE MINUTES WORTH of game credits, spanning multiple subsidiaries of Ubisoft from around the world, plus Ivory Tower themselves, plus all the temps they hired on just for the project, and of course those they had to credit for licensing - such as car makers. In any case, hundreds, if not thousands of people, and a lot of moving parts. And what gets me is even with all these people working on it, and a development cycle that started in... 2022? Maybe earlier? In spite of all of this manpower and dedication, we got what we got - for better or for worse. And given that money talks, I really don't think Ubisoft would have invested so much money to pay these people if they didn't expect to break even on the game's release. Like, even considering that The Crew as a series is live service, it's not the kind of game that can be supported by whales - in a sense. They have to move product for the game to, you know... be profitable. Think of it this way, if more people play TC2 than TCM and playership in TCM doesn't last as long as TC2 or TC1 did, then Ivory Tower is doomed and Ubisoft will axe them. And for that matter, I am still of mind that they made TCM to keep TC2 on life support, not the other way around. Otherwise, there'd be no need to jump between both games as much as you do. The Crew 1 was doomed because it was literally falling apart. And you yourself seem to realize that The Crew 2 is falling apart (thanks to its "spaghetti code"), albeit more slowly. Putting aside the "I paid for it so I should have it forever" BS, ask yourself, "What do you really wish could have been saved from the original game and from this one? And how does the new engine used in Motorfest play into that?" Because I sincerely doubt Motorfest will remain just Oahu for nine more years. That's like asking to go bankrupt.
Motorfest is boring as hell, the vehicles are great, the map is crap, it’s way too small, boring and lacks the different biomes and character of the crew 1 and 2 maps
Motorfest is absolute garbage and as more time goes on it will become increasingly obvious how bad it is. It can't stand if the previous crew titles are available to be played in some shape or form
I did enjoy my time with Motorfest but the fatal flaw about it for me is the playlist being one-note to getting a vehicle and that's it. You can replay them in any class vehicle that is suited for that event however you want AFTER your completed it so that makes replaying the events only for grinding out cash, parts or exp at that point. And the PvP multiplayer (Grand Races) is one of the worst ones yet with people constantly crashing into each other and fucking over people who drive cleanly. It would not be a problem if there was dedicated lobbies for clean racing with higher steaks evolved that messing up too many times will give you a boot and no rewards at all. Top of it all that people use the reset exploits to gain an advantage of the race and saying "Oh it's part of the game! Suck it up loser LOL!" and completely miss the point of an race really is. After over 100+ hours in Motofest I just uninstalled it and started to play GRID: Legends for the time being and man is it fun!
I heard a rumor that one reason why they're stopping updating the crew 2 is cuz they're going to remaster the map and it's going to be added to this game eventually because this was supposed to be an add-on to that game that's the rumor anyways
Please read this sidwaj, as a main racing content creator, i have a feeling that ubisoft enjoy watching your content especially listening to real issues feedback on their games. Ps, big message inbound, but please read. I beg ubisoft not to shut down tc2 and force us to only be able to play motorfest. Myself and alot of people cannot bring ourselves to play motorfest for a few reasons that are genuinely quite impactful, ie, not something we can ignore or gloss over. There are 3 main issues that REALLY need attending to. 1. What they said about the game and moving vehicles across from tc2 vs what we got. So yes they said that motorfest would have around 500 or 600 hundred vehicles in the game on release, what they didn't say is that 99% of those vehicles are just copy and pasted from tc2 and only 1% of the vehicles are actually brand new not seen in tc2. On top of that, they made it so that all of the cars that were copied over, were already bout and customises the way players had it in tc2, now some people enjoyed this feature as of course its nice to pick up where ypu left off however, as far as other, including me, since you now own 99% of the game due to all your vehicles already unlocked, it literally removes the point of playing the game in the first place, the sense of achievement is completely void. 2. Livery creation. They brought 99% of tc2's vehicles across no problem, but couldn't manage to bring across livery libraries? So the immense but fun grind that is saving up money for new vehicles is removed but the tedious and sometimes seemingly endless grind of creating complex designs for your vehicle is kept in? It can take hours to make 1 design in the livery creator and being a livery creator myself, I hate that they didn't bring across all the saved shapes and design I spent hours upon hours working on. 3. Map size. Yes I'm aware that the map is much much smaller but much much more graphically detailed, however, the lacking Map size just makes me feel like I'm playing a need for speed copycat style of game. It takes like what.. an hour or so to go from the very edge of tc2's Map to the other? Shed loads of exploration, it motorfest, I don't want to be experiencing the same 20 roads over and over, it just feels like a small village compared to exploring a city.
For real. If I can I would like to add something, 4: the festival design is terribale. No fun races just themed events that seem out of place. And reused summit activity’s. 5: 2 PVP game modes with no real changes NFS has a massive amount of PVP races I never get bored I almost get overwhelmed. 6: the map theme is wrong blue nights safari trees, a volcano that’s not a volcano… the map it done poorly. Hawaii was the worst decision made. 7: the parts grind is so hard and boring I gave up after 400+ hours. I still don’t have a nitro Cem set on TCM additionally the handling model being forced to follow all of these shortcuts and gutters and resets and everything is **** I’m a casual that plays a lot. 8: there is no reason for me to get on the game anymore because it sucks, I am actually playing NFS unbound more then any other game. IVT screwed up and the only thing that can fix it is if they restarted. From the ground up.
Motorfest is F'ing boring after everything is done, once you complete the summits, there's not much else to do. You can race the tracks over and over, but overall it's just boring.
I feel it, I wish they would have added a story mode to the game like TC2, I was about that because you unlock vehicles by beating boss races. and the map was far more expansive compared to Motorfest. I have been on TC2 alot just finishing the stories to unlock the vehicles that I don't have. Other issues are the waiting for the next season for certain bundles to import over from TC2. I just canceled my PS+ for awhile, never really used it for anything. I rarely played GR's or the DR's. Just seems ridiculous that you have a paywall to play certain events because you need a subscription to play. I have actually been thinking about downloading NFS Heat and Payback and playing those for awhile. The map on Payback was massive and I enjoyed that.
Get Gran Turismo bro. It is truly wonderful. I play on wheel and controller and if you set Traction to 3 and ABS to the mid. And ESC off you have a better feeling car then any other game.
Plus I feel paying to play online is fair. You’re paying to maintain the server. And that’s right. You shouldn’t be given free access to servers if you’re not willing to take care of them.
for someone who paid full price for the ultimate edition of the crew 1 im still quite upset i can't ever play the game i severly paid for i may not like the crew 2, but i know theres a lot of people that do including you. i don't want any game to die, even if i never purchase it or play it. lets hope ubi learned their lesson
I will feel Totally Ripped off as I've invested in the Disc game,- Big money spent on Liveries and cars and this Game is a Proud and Valuable mark in History with so many very Special people working on it for years and years of work, One we would be very Mad too loose it and our Money investment!!! Please stop this act Ivory Tower and Ubisoft!!! 😢😮😅🎉❤
Maybe better graphics, or better yet, going back to the way the game looked like back at launch in 2018, there is still an anniversary in June, or an offline patch to change the graphics to 1.0, that is what I like, do you miss the bright extended lights, the cloudless skies, the beautiful sunset and rise, and the darker nights
bro wtf this was my childhood game, i got this as a gift from my family back in Romania and ive grinded so much, made so much memories only for shitty ubisoft to shut it down. what is even the harm of keeping it up
I guess burnout paradise is what I'll be playing if this happens. I will definitely be more selective as to what franchise and game studio I buy from. And will more of my older titles on rotation.
i bought the crew in 2022 and i played it a lot since then but its sad they shutdown the game thats why i dont like to buy game like this i planed to buy the crew 2 in the upcoming month but i dont think so anymore i aint gonna pay for a game that wont stay with me until i die i dont care if they patched the game to be offline i dont care about online i just love the crew/2 world i like to chill in it... Ubisoft if u reading this Comment please bring back the crew even offline mode and dont ever make a game that needs connection all the time and in the end shutdown the whole game rethink Ubisoft im a huge fan of your games 90% of my playstation games is your games ubisoft
Yeah this is very very sad tc2 was the first crew game i started on and to see it go is very sad i need to platinum this game before its ends in 4 years sounds like alot but time flies when you are playing games motorfest kinda disappointed me bad planes motorcycles livery its crazy how a old game can beat a new game to think of it sid is right motorfest should have had at least 2 years still in the making tc2 has been out a while and the game is amazing doe not compare to motorfest tc1 diying was super dissapointed and soon nfs 2015 might be gone offline patches need to be made as much as online games make it so cheating is harder so what its a game we wanna enjoy it still and you killing it makes it worse
Im pissed about them shutting down The Original Crew...I didn't like Crew 2..For me the graphics Suck @ss...Now I'm trying to re-download Crew 2 today, which takes 8 F@#$ hours...I will Never buy from that software company again...Nor will I Ever buy a game that you can't play Offline...
Iirc isnt this the biggest freeroam car game map to date? Like world record holding? Imo the moment they delete the game they lose the record. Hit them in what little legacy they have left, its the only way outside a courtroom forcing their hand that may work
We had The crew and 2 on the whole USA versus a piece of Hawaii that should be the whole Hawaii for a better Crew game. The Crew Motorfest creators are too cheap to install the whole state in the game. How can you represent America in the smallest American location lol? There are other Hawaiian biomes on different islands to discover other than just Oahu you can't just limit the acres of boat riding or limit the purpose of having boats and planes in the game, that's just a waste of money for licenses to have these resources in the game. Having islands is a major purpose for off-road races. It's not a fun race but it's a waste.
I own this and if they shut this down imma be beyond pissed off. I spent hours especially comin home from cancer treatments this game was my go 2 I don't want this shutdown I don't have motorfest I never will it's not enjoyable like crew 2.
They need to fix the problems with TCMF before they kill TC2 off if they want This game to survive. Motorfest is constantly crashing, I play 20 - 30 mins, and I get the blue error screen to report the problem. Ubisoft has said time and again they are working on it. Yet it still continues. I follow them on X so I have contact with them.
I don't have all the cars in the crew 2 I have some but not alot are locked in the live summit cars and I can't get and I think they should be able to get all the cars in the crew 2
I think it’s way too late to be considering an offline patch at this point in time. The game was most likely developed way back when with a plan of shutting it down in x years.
Well at least NFS Heat has offline mode lol, shame bc I was looking forward to getting Crew 2 for the open world but hell no not if they'll end up taking it away. And anyone who doesn't believe Ubisoft and other AAA corporations aren't going to do this with every IP they own is just delusional.
I think they need to add the chase events to motorfest in about a week to sid I went from 108 to level 190 im level 2200 in crew2 I am a fat kid I almost don't get off the game
TC2 has no longer update. I don't have any issue about that. I will coming back to play anytime until server shutdown. I'm expect to be in 2027-2028. Nobody know.
I hate to buy crew games if they eventually get stolen from me i pay and ubisoft decides to remove it from existing but the crew still has special place in my heart much better than forza imo
sid i hope you are aware of the stop killing games thing, and lets all hope modders will take good care of this game ( okay edit he does know, my bad!! )
If they are going to kill off TC2, they need to fix Motorfest to where it doesn't crash, doesn't kick you out of the game in Multi-player, and needs to build more on the island, Motorfest doesn't have enough to stand alone, these games need to stay online, it's such BS that they keep shutting these games down. At least we have 4yrs.
I don't care if I'm by my self but I won't buy another Ubisoft games ever again not only did they take my game they took my money I feel scammed 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
TC2 shutdown will be bad, i liked the game more when i started seeing the grind results aka always taking plat on summits, i didn´t like TCMF thou, i also stumbled upon Sid´s channel while i was waiting for tips lol.
I'm honestly numb. I don't know whether to make the most of the time left or not bother wasting time on these titles anymore. Thanks Ubisoft for making games suck.
Sid we feel for you. But this is just the beginning… TDU Forza GT GTA NFS TCM they all with end the same… welcome in a new era of gaming… 60$ yearly subscription access to crew 4 and all other Ubisoft titles
1. 4 more years of Hawaii would be incredibly optimistic and a huge mistake by ubisoft 2. Completely wrong on how important your spleen is😂 3. I wish they'd just run through premium summits every week so i wouldn't have to touch this game again However, if you bought it it shouldn't be taken away but i dont think the attention you streamers gave to crew1 helped the case
Its just speculations, motorfest still su*** and its doesnt mean this game will be gone after same time like tc 1, maybe this one will be up for a longer, ubisoft thinks shutting down games will make people play new games, mfest still su***. Motorfest is bombarded with negatives reviews on steam and they deserved that.
5:44 why would you ever spend ridiculous amounts of money to keep something maintained when you don't use it anymore, it's just ignorant to keep maintaining it, when there is new stuff that you will need to maintained and new stuff that you will have the ability to use. Everyone who is having a problem with the crew shutdown is just being childish. They are kids that are childishly trying to hold on to an old broken toy that no longer functions the way it did, & its just a waste of space, and they NO LONGER PLAY WITH IT, ANYMORE STOP BEING SCARED OF CHANGE AND STOP BEING SCARED OF NEW THINGS JUST BECAUSE IT GETS RID OF THE OLD. EVEN HUMANS HAVE TO DIE TO MAKE ROOM FOR MORE HUMANS TO BE BORN. VIDEO GAMES AND TECHNOLOGY & SOCIETY IS NOT EXEMPT FROM THAT TYPE OF CHANGE. NO MATTER HOW IGNORANTLY PEOPLE HAVE BEEN INDOCTRINATED & MANIPULATED INTO BELIEVING IT IS, IT IS NOT EXEMPT THEY SHUT THE CREW DOWN SO THEY CAN MAKE ROOM FOR NEW STUFF AND THEY SHUT IT DOWN SO THEY COULD PUT THAT MONEY AND THEIR TIME AND EMPLOYEES TOWARDS WORKING ON THE UPCOMING GAMES YOU CAN NOT GET NEW THINGS WITHOUT GETTING RID OF THE OLD FIRST. AND UBISOFT MAINTAINING & HOLDING ON TO THE CREW ONE WILL JUST BE A WASTE OF RESOURCES AND TIME & IT'S JUST A WASTE OF VALUABLE SPACE THAT COULD BE USED FOR OTHER THINGS.
See and thats why i did the icon point glitch to get all the vehicles i can buy. Which i bought all of them. Just missing summit cars. Plus only 700 hours. So i did most of everyting b4 that glitch came out.❤❤
Crew 2 reminds me of my favourite childhood racing game, test drive unlimited 2. A game way ahead of it’s time and got an offline mode fortunately, but the game thrived on it’s online mode. True classic and it will be sad to see crew 2 see the same fate
