Magic Moments series is an effort by The Cricket Surgery team to highlight and discuss the great, forgotten performances of past in their true context. For the younger cricket fans, these episodes maybe a sneak peak into some fascinating tales of yore, while for seasoned, elder fans, it may be a trip down the nostalgia lane.
In this episode, we go through the debut series of Sunil Gavaskar, especially his herculean 124 and 220 at Trinidad in the final test which helped India draw the match from a precarious situation, and win its first ever series against the West Indies. Gavaskar would go on to many more legendary feats, but a debut series like this in the land of Garry Sobers deserves to be remembered for ages.
