That "i was shot 20 times today, I'm wearing a bulletproof vest". It surely was sadly a foreshadowing. He was so young, talented and articulated. R I P Brandon Lee 🖤
@@jaycarwile1522 agree And the more tragic is, his life was lost for a movie. Not even an irrevocable desease, a heartattack, a tumor. A movie. And he was so intelligent, articulated and seemingly kind person . Oh well.
Imagine writing a comic inspired by an asshole drunk driver who killed your fiancé, have it turned into a movie, and your main guy actually gets killed during filming. Insane.
I feel like Brandon's Crow character laid the foundation for Keanu's Neo and even Heath's Joker. I was a kid when Brandon passed, I was in HS when The Matrix was released, was a young adult and worked in an office when The Dark Knight came out, after all these years, I still believe that Brandon Lee (if he had lived) may have played those roles. Was a fan and always will be.
Dude the irony of that you’re RIGHT- the sisters who wrote The Matrix named Brandon Lee as an influence for Neo and Heath Ledger’s Joker makeup was outright said to be based off Eric Draven’s makeup. You’re spot on- he was so influential
@@somersfamilythey are tho 😂 Hollywood is trying to remake old movies because their running out of ideas and money to fund bigger and better projects, have you been under a rock for the past 5 years ? Their remaking the crow and it looks like dogshit compared to the original Next time think before you open your mouth you’ll appear less stupid that way it’ll help you a lot in the real world Good luck
Brandon did this movie in freezing temps, no cgi when he was filming this. He gave his all, including his life. A beautiful person inside and out, loved his laugh. It's so disrespectful that anyone would try and remake this perfectly done classic. You're forever missed, rip Brandon Lee. Thank you for posting this. #TheCrow #4ksteelbook #BrandonBruceLee
The most important thing to take away from that movie and the tragedy of his life is to not take anything for granted. He was only 28 when he died. I barely figured out who I was until just a few years before that. And even after living much longer I still haven't accomplished what I would like to in life. Life will always be too short. But those of us who are fortunate enough to live longer than others need to remember not to take it for granted and to try and appreciate every moment, good or bad. Because it's always better to be alive than dead, even if life is sometimes hard or uncomfortable. There is always hope and opportunity when you are alive. It ends the moment you die. Thanks to the owner of this channel for sharing this precious moment of humor & joy that Brandon lived. I am not taking it for granted. I've laughed with him, and cried for him & his family & friends. I hope for all the best to anyone that reads this.
41 and I don't know who I am, not really. Alive is better than dead, but I really don't know what I'm supposed to do with the rest of what I have. Depression, loneliness and anxiety is still very much my every day. Love this movie in any case, unreal to watch this interview.
I know it right. Death peeking its nose out. It taunts us really in the subconscious. If you know where to look you can escape your fate. Learn to read the signs cause today may be ours.
It wasn't Hollywood. Both the actors died just before their big hits - it's like someone didn't want them making it big in Hollywood. Who is that someone? I read that it was the chinese mafia.
This movie helped shape a huge part of me growing up, came out right as I was processing some trauma of my own and just resonated so hard. I hate that he's gone. He died wearing Eric Draven's clothes, which is why I think that character should be left to rest with him. There was no reason for them to use Eric again in this money grabbing 'Reboot'.. there's a wealth of other source material out there, it could have been any one of the other 'Crows'.. that they chose Eric again feels like desecrating a grave. You wont be forgotten, Brandon.
There is a super Bruce Lee collector who actually found Brandon's crow outfit that got left behind. It's on YT if you search it if you haven't seen it yet. Pretty amazing along with a replica mask they molded in making the rest of the scenes needed. So yeah Brandon was wearing just Eric normal street clothes at the time of the accident.
damn 5 degrees with no shirt and or shoes shooting the that scene in the alley. Truly a badass and really giving it his all. RIP Brandon Lee you are missed!
Even Brandon said he didn’t hope this would turn into a franchise. The first film was pretty straight forward, and even though I loved City of Angels, it should have been a one and done.
Oh don't talk of love" the shadows purr Murmuring me away from you "Don't talk of worlds that never were The end is all that's ever true There's nothing you can ever say Nothing you can ever do" Still every night I burn Every night I scream your name Every night I burn Every night the dream's the same Every night I burn Waiting for my only friend Every night I burn Waiting for the world to end
Ever since I saw this movie when I was 12 and found out about the tragic death of Brandon Lee, whenever I see a Crow or hear the caw of a Crow I always remember to say "Hey Brandon!"
Loved how things were back then, even interviewers and the actors were new to this idea of interviewing celebs, so they would just be themselves and act casually.
It's sad and also scary at the same time. We are literally seeing his very last interview before he died on set. Not to mention he's talking about getting shot multiple times. I really wish things turned out very differently for him. So sad
Now that’s what sets this Crow Movie apart from the rest of the crow movies that they put in the hard work and dedication working in the freezing cold Brandon was a straight trooper! He is missed RIP 🪦 🐦⬛
A master class in how to handle some quite banal questions with sarcastic humour without making the person asking feel bad. You could tell he was 100% done but still kept it light and funny. Truly a great loss.
Agreed. He always fascinated me. Not only because I love & adore the finished film but because he seem'd like a genuine good, cool soul. While a bit sarcastic, I appreciate that there is that base level respect & he seems kind. If sarcasm becomes too mean spirited or smart ass-y, then it becomes groan inducing. Since I'm also apart of the Gothic sub culture, I love how Gothed out Brandon looks here. His tragic death was indeed beyond awful🕸🖤🦇
Wow, as a fan of both Brandon & The Crow that's something to watch (& I appreciate it being unedited, just the interview from start to end). Brandon seemed so ready for whatever life would give him next, no one knew what was coming, it's so sad & ironic to hear him joking about wearing a bullet proof vest for that day's work, why on earth didn't they make him wear it for the scene that killed him? I guess everyone involved had done so many scenes involving people getting shot by that point that they had started to take safety for granted. Anyway, thanks for sharing this video, nice to get a glimpse of the real Brandon Lee just being himself for a few minutes.
This interview is truly down to earth, very informative and absolutely positively a relaxed interview, no awkwardness, no rhetorical questions and the part about being shot 20 times ... very eerie to hear that which is quite an unfortunate episode, but this film is 30 years old in precise and it will go down to be one of the greats of all time, it's personally not my favourite film and but it did lead to great legacy for this man right here BRANDON LEE ...REST IN POWER !!!
4:41 ; "Do you think The Crow will be a Franchise ?" "I hope not. It's a very self contained story... Once it's over..." Brandon had a fair and objective vision of this movie. No franchise.
Brandon Lee was a beautiful lovely hot man I ever knew from his last movie the crow. After I heard what happened to him I cried so hard that ever sequel of remakes they did they shouldn't have done it all Brandon Lee as the crow forever. R.i.p. I miss u I love u
Unfortunate that this movie got a "reboot". Should have just left it alone. My friend's grandmother (who has since passed) was an extra on set when Brandon was shot. She said it was "absolute chaos" when it happened, and a lot of people there had no idea what even took place till later. Another issue is we'll really never get to see a lot of what was cut from the original film. A friend of mine who owned a comic shop was sent a promo tape that had a LOT of footage on it that was basically audio covered with the soundtrack. The arm cutting scene, Michael Berryman as skull cowboy, more flashbacks etc. All gone.
@@Specialagentfoxmulderfbi How exactly would any of us be able to reconcile those two actors and their individual talents? There is no way. It's just an interesting 'what if?' scenario. Don't overthink it.
i will always adore you for this film brandon.. im glad that you understanded the wy the story worked and there will never be anyone that could be eric but you..thank you brandon RIP
I'm just speculating here, but I think the smoking was in part Brandon rebelling against people expecting him to be like his Dad. Bruce Lee's image (true or not) was of a very, very fit person who would never do anything like smoking or drinking that might harm him physically, Brandon got tired of people wanting him to be the "second coming of Bruce Lee".
NAR day - no acting required. I found that comment kind of funny until I remembered that he got shot on set and freaking died. 😢 No acting required for his death scene too, apparently. Poor Brandon Lee, it's so sad to hear him talk about future movies knowing what happens after this interview takes place. To be honest, he sounded kind of freaked out about the twenty bullets scene; he kept mentioning it up to the interviewer and seemed kind of shaken about it. Maybe he had a bad feeling that something would go wrong?
I don't actually think he was shaken by it, he was so used to enduring hardship & discomfort on this film by then (the freezing rain, the physicality of the role, etc.) that I'd think he & everyone else involved in the movie were just pushing to get the movie finished. As I recall they only had a week or so of filming to go before the movie would be finished, & Brandon was looking forward to his wedding shortly after that. So tragic ...
He was always enduring as an action star and a half blood. Looking at the roles they cast him in and his attitude towards martial arts and acting, he enduring quite a lot more than what we see on the surface level here. Just my opinion after finding trying to watch all the movies he was in and reading about him. I agree that he almost seemed to sense it and says very haunting things. I wish something could have saved him and we could have seen him progress as an actor and finally get more roles outside of purely martial arts and actions films. He was just in the process of achieving his dream when it was ended. I hate that yet love this movie at the same time.
Here you can definitely see how much of his mannerism Heath Ledger took (consciously or not) to play the Joker; or maybe they both incidentally had a very similar mannerism to channel...
I think they actually had similar characteristics. They were both brutally honest, a bit sarcastic, very intelligent, didn’t like superficiality. I think they were somehow similar if you watch closely what they said during their interviews. That’s my impression.
“I’m actually disappointed, I didn’t come up with a catchphrase, another character did actually. The catchphrase was…Was Too Loaded” bruh that’s crazy 😱
Tragic to hear him taking about getting shot 20 time like its nothing then probably a week or so later, 1 shot ended his life. He didn't even get to see the masterpiece he was part of. 😔
Its hard to imagine anyone else embodying this character as well as Brandon Lee did... 🤔 Interesting to see this side of Brandon. Super laid back and smoking cigs like an OG grunge front man. .. Eerie forshadowing in this interview for sure.
Brandon is like the singer of a grunge band that’s been separated from the rest of his group and has been caught for a quick interview.. and that’s kinda cool, watch interviews with Cobain around that time and you’ll see what I mean.. and on a separate note it was quite sad hearing him talking about there’s a chance to do a couple of sequels.. rest in peace man, you were gone too soon.
The catch phrase was . "WAS TO LOADED " he does from a unloaded blank gun and one of his father's movies involved a plot where we faked his death during the filming of a movie where a prop gun " kills" bruce Lee's character the n Bruce comes back from the supposed dead for revenge and his son " dies " in the way his father's character faked his death. Shit gets weirder and weirder assuming this clip isnt bullshit.
