The crow comics were a big part of my life growing up ..then came the phenomenal 1994 film...now for me personally like Jaws , The Exorcist ,The Thing ,Halloween , Predator The Crow is a perfect film ..meaning you can't add or take anything away from it to make it better so anything that comes after will never live up to its original ...there are just some films that should just be left alone and The Crow is one of them ...
Eric Draven is Brandon Lee this hard working legend like his father put his blood sweat into this an his life i would be more open minded if it wasnt a reboot the way Brandon acted made me believe this was real the whole cast was amazing to sarah to ernie hudson an the soundtrack was unbelievable a master piece but i also agree if this movie does terrible we wont be seeing another crow grace the screen almost like that movie friday the 13th reboot from 2018 aint seen a friday the 13th sense then but R.I.P to Brandon Bruce Lee 94 crow will always be the best bill i hope you do a good job on this
I'll just wait to see what happens. Nothing will replace the original. I even have a Crow tat. I like do Skarsgard. And you damn well know they will NEVER beat that original soundtrack, baby!😁😎
I will wait and see the movie first but the crow has special place in my heart mainly I was a massive Brendon Lee fan as child and was obsessed with his films and his father films
Bill Skarsgaard is a brilliant actor. I’ll watch it for him. I love the James O Barr comic and the Brandon Lee film. Although the Brandon Lee film wasn’t a complete page for page adaptation of the comic, it was very spiritually aligned in terms of its message of love & revenge, as well as the music - The Cure, Joy Division, Bauhaus, Iggy Pop. It was a great source of inspiration and catharsis that James O’Barr drew from their music, having lost the love of his life and pouring that into a creative outlet. The stylistic look of the character is an amalgamation of Iggy Pop, Peter Murphy of Bauhaus & Robert Smith of The Cure; the emotional tragedy of the story is closely aligned to subject matter of the songs of those bands. The comic book takes its chapter titles from Joy Division songs, there pages of lyrics of songs by Joy Division & The Cure. I feel that link is quite intrinsic to the Crow. Unfortunately, the new film makers aren’t drawing from those musical inspirations from what I can tell.
"“THE CROW is not just a movie,” he added. “Brandon Lee died making it, and it was finished as a testament to his lost brilliance and tragic loss. It is his legacy. That’s how it should remain.” - Alex Proyas.
Brandon Lee was perfect in The Crow, and the soundtrack was awesome! I'm not sure it needs a reboot, but I haven't seen the trailer, so I will reserve my judgment. My instinct said it is going to be difficult to live up to Brandon Lee's classic.
There have been 27 people that have come back as The Crow. That's 27 different stories to pull from. To me this feels much closer to Michael Korby's run as the character than Eric Draven, so why not just call him that? Leave Eric Draven alone.
RIP Brandon lee.. only him for that role.. it was poetry on screen.. the original Crow does not nor ever need to b remade.. ever ever ever ever... screw this bs..
This new movie will never live up or even come close to the original Movie. Brandon Lee did an amazing job. I remember sneaking into the movie theater to watch the Crow back in the 90's. RIP Brother Lee...Here fun Boy, here fun boy.
I will try to see this movie regardless of how well this is received but you are right, Hollywood will continue to keep making remakes, reboots and franchise movies and keep original movies away from the system.
YES! The other crow movies it was different characters and that was great.. not going to top what will forever be the one and only Eric Draven played by Brandon Lee ❤
that is what is so maddening about this. it looks like it might be an ok movie, but they didn't have to redo brandon lees role. they could've just done another crow character.
I just got done watching the trailer for the new one.. and I don't want to put hate on it even though I agree they shouldn't have remade it again, but the trailer shows that it's gonna be nothing like the original even though they said they were gonna keep it close to the original. I feel that we're gonna be disappointed at this movie.. I grew up with Brandon Lees version and it kills me that they're doing this to the movie again.
I asked for a lot of different crow films like a Kevin smith crow or the rob zombie one that got scrapped I asked for the one where a police detective is killed and comes back and spends all his time in a police station they took that and turned it into salvation I still want that I asked for the samurai story I asked for a lot but I didn’t ask for a new Eric story because Marc made it better with the show and TV movie your absolutely right I didn’t ask for a new Eric story but I’m happy with this skull cowboy is in the trailer Ernie Hudson’s character is in the trailer there is a lot to do this is a movie loaded with Easter eggs you can’t call it a remake or reboot this is something completely new
I loved the first one as many many people do & yes I’ll admit it loved the second movie too . But I’ll continue to say it they should’ve really have done they’re research better read the comics to pluck out a different story arc & person to do a movie about
Plenty of people asled fpr a more accirate take on the comic. And Obarrs involved in the remake. It doesnt hurt a damn thing to ever remake anything. Classics not going anywhere. Nevermind since Wicked Prayer is the last Crow film made is the biggest travesties.. The bottom line, The Fly, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, True Lies, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, The Thing... theyre all remakes that are superior to their CLASSIC originals. If its trash. Its existence wont hurt ypur love for the original....tbh itll only make it that much better for you. And for all you know... itll be amazing.
The trailer looks kick a$$ and no one would be complaining if he didn't have tattoos and had long hair. Just remember this time the whole story is being told and is being told in a series of movies not just one. This is why he does not become the full on "Crow" we expect until the 3rd act because that is just the beginning of his journey. So he may begin to look more like people expect as the other movies release.
That trailer, and his look, hell the whole general concept is trash. These two are criminals, “trying to be good?” How can you sympathize at all with the storyline?!? Dance with the devil, pay your dues. This is what’s wrong with society, no one thinks this way anymore. The original they were just generally really good people who hurt no one, and tragedy fell on them. Something you can actually sympathize towards if your a normal human being. I like the actor and think he was a good choice, but the look and script, looks like another piece of Hollywood trash!! Another thing, what made great movies in the past, was the soundtrack. They use to have bands MAKE songs specifically for the movie just like this one. It’s epic. They need to focus on original soundtracks more in todays movies
The first one sucked as did most of Brandon Lee's movies, not his fault though he was a decent actor just most movies aren't very good. That said I'll watch it as you never know with movies some times they surprise you.
Only thing that bothers me about the character design is the face tattoo and the short hair. All the other body tats make sense cuz hes a rocker which tend to have tats
In all fairness There are tons of movies we didn’t ask for remakes Road house Point break Crow List goes on and on Just got to take it with a grain of salt and enjoy as much as we can with movies not being as epic as they were in the 90s
I rewatched the original the other week and man was the movie nowhere near as good as I remembered it. This already looks like an improvement in a few areas. The face tattoos look silly and the lighting couldn’t be a bit darker but other than that, I think the remake looks like a good time.
Multi verse I get it.. making a bunch of batman, spidermans, jokers, xmen, ect... cool.. cuz that's how the comic world is... but there r certain movies that need not b touched.. the Crow, pulp fiction, vampire hunter D, back the future trilogy, the original star wars, clerks being a trilogy, the original matrix....it's a wonderful life.. I could go on bout this.. Don't mess w the Crow! Strongly opinionated bout this one..
I saw the trailer and i saw no respect for the history or the autor this crap is just a cash grab that no one will remember for more than the nipple tattoo.
And Kevin smith has done a lot of horror and horror comedy movies at this point he is a horror film maker red state absolutely amazing tusk scariest movie I have ever seen my entire life holidays is absolutely amazing love it I’m a die hard yoga hosers fan that falls under horror horror comedy children’s horror it gets alot of hate but it’s absolutely amazing I have nothing but good things to say about it it’s a direct sequel to tusk Kevin is working on 2 more tusk movies with lions gate getting the full crow franchise as well rob zombie can do his crow Kevin smith and jay can write a crow movie together where Harley Quinn comes back and is the first on screen female crow and have Johnny and lily work on it as well and have Harleys boyfriend in it and make a full blown Kevin smith original crow movie that is what I have been asking for
This reboot movie needs scrapped. It will never be as good as the original film with Lee. The original is perfect, I have never seen anything wrong with it no matter how many times I have watched it and I own it also. We do NOT need a reboot of this film when there are many other stories that can be remade.
This movie is going to be a huge disapointment 5 mins in. You have to understand that Alex Proyas and Brandon Lee were friends. That movie was something special. It was a labor of love shared between two passionate people that can never be replicated. You can get the best actor and the best director in the world, but you're never going to capture what Alex and Brandon did. This is one of the top 5 greatest comic book movies ever put to film, eye to eye with the Dark Knight. Theres no reason to watch this reboot, theres no reason to remake it, its already perfect the way it is. Brandon Lee left behind an amazing legacy, and this remake is such a diservice to his work and sacrifice... All we are going to get from this film is an actor and a director doing a job for hire. No love will be poured into this movie, no respect for the source material, its just going to be a bunch of styled shots with no time to care about the characters sprinked with dull action scenes and thats it. RIP BRANDON LEE RIP MICHEAL MASSEE...
