@@syk120 I was exposed to western anti-Islam sentiments/propaganda, which eventually were not even related to the religion itself, but instead stemmed from geopolitical conflicts over resources. At the time i saw Islam as a religion that belonged to the arabs and I saw anything that had to do with the arab world as primitive, terrorist and uncivilized in my mind.
@@syk120 The second issue revolved purely around my discomfort with Islam's strong emphasis on the existence of a power greater than human collectivity felt diminishing. This is why i think i found my self defending Neoplatonism and Christianity even though i was an atheist because those idea's brought the concept of God down to a human level, allowing me to see or imagine God in a more relatable form as Jesus or as humanity itself. It felt like it was 'humanizing' the 'divine', which I was comfortable with, as it avoided the (more realistic) notion of a non-human superior being on whom all life depended, that felt a bit scary/belittling to me. At the end this want of bringing god down or trying to put in in a human mold is pure hubris, and glorified paganism, the roman's profitable habit of human/idol worship, which facilitated their downfall multiple times before.

I am a revert since a few weeks and the “sperm” comment at the end had me mindboggled. So obviously I googled it. Because in school they teach you that it is all created in the testis. But the Quran doesn’t actually mention the word sperm it mentions iT as fluid or water and as a matter of fact I quote: 70% of the ejaculatory fluid that contains sperm comes from the seminal vesicles, which are parralel to the backbone and around 20% comes from the prostate and the rest from the bulbourethral gland which are located in the loin area.

I work in the healthcare industry and I pay around 30% in taxes to the United States government in the form of income tax. Ask yourself again why are we discussing jizya which is estimated to be around 2% to 2.5% in current day value. They even tax me on my overtime !

If it is permissible to Muslims, I would like to pay the 1.5% and not the 2.5% Muslims are responsible for defending their country. Meaning, civil service when needed can be compulsory. Non-Muslims don't have any civil service obligations because the 1.5% covers all their responsibility towards the state. In the US, according to US law, in the event of war, anyone in the US can be forced to carry arms to defend the country including visitors. Just imagine, someone visiting the US to go to Disneyland and Hollywood and suddenly finds himself being forced to carry arms on behalf of the US army. From a tourist to a solider defending a country that could have been his first time visiting and possibly against his own country of birth. And you are complaining about Jesseyah. If I can, I will pay Jesseyah and you pay zakat. Deal?

The difference, the Zakat and Jesseyah can only used for specific purpose to help the needy, poor, and other categories mentioned in the Quran whether the person is Muslim or not. Other taxes can be used to fund roads, building schools, etc. and these can be imposed on Muslims but always based on income level with zero loopholes. So, the rich cannot get out of pay taxing based on some loophole in the system. Non-Muslims are not obligated to pay additional taxes and they have the right to have their own separate system when it comes to religious practices, marriage, divorce, inheritance, and many other social issues that goverones their affairs. However, the political system must be Islamic in Islamic countries. So, Islam allows to have more than one operating system within the Islamic political system.

They are not acknowledging that testes are derived from the pronephric tissue the form early in development before formation of the final kidneys. Pronephric tissue derives from the mesoderm between the ribs and spine. The testes develop intrabdominally then migrate out of the body before birth. In some other vertebrate life forms the testes are still located in the abdomen between the spine and ribs next to the kidneys.
