The problem with Edward VIII choosing to stay "true to himself" was that because he gave up the throne, everyone else had to stop being themselves and take on that responsibilities.
@@jessicavictoriacarrillo7254 but then why there are photos of Queen Elisabeth and he sister practicing the nazi salut along their father the brand new kind?
yeah ikr, meanwhile if charles had given up the throne for camilla, we could've had princess anne as our queen, which would've been amazing. diana would've been alive. charles and camilla would've lived happily ever after, instead of hated and cursed by the whole world. but i guess we wouldn't have had harry, william. then kate, louis, george and charlotte. it's tragic but i guess things happened for a reason. God had His plan
i would've liked camilla if only she didn't inadvertently ruin diana's marriage, heart and therefore life. what a sad thing. she seemed fun and likable, i get why charles liked her so much
I'm not so sure the mariage would have gone that well even WITHOUT Camilla, if we're talking about the Crown only the way Charle was so different to Diana.
Maybe the Spencers should not have lied to the Windsors about Diana's mental state. And maybe Diana shouldn't have cheated on Charles constantly. And then maybe Charles wouldn't have sought out Camilla. Asking a man to countenance the paternity of his child is too much. And Charles was a royal, the heir to the throne.
I know the crowd was a drama, and not everybody knows the true story, only the people that were involved. But it did provide me with wanting to have sympathy for her.
Even women who knew her then have said they understood exactly what men saw in her. And besides her erotic appeal, she was a warm, relaxed, and sympathetic personality with a great sense of humor. The kind of woman men like to be around.
I read that the first thing Camilla said to Charles was something like "My ancestors shagged your ancestors" or words to that effect. I have always been fond of her since hearing that. Spunky and not needy is what I suspect a seemingly tortured and repressed soul like Charles needed.
@@Seek1878 Princess Diana suffered of depression and bulimia most of her life in a time where depression was considered a taboo. When she got engaged with Charles at NINETEEN YEARS OLD it got worse. HE DID THAT TO HER. It wasn't her fault, and it will NEVER be the victim's fault. Those ADULTS set a trap for a innocent and naive TEENAGER. Disgusting people, you too.
@@karenpontes5509 So you admit it existed beforehand. How is it his fault if she was already suffering from it? Like I said, it was a bad match from the start and both were miserable.
How come the king has not invited Josh to have tea at the palace. If I was Charles......I would not miss that opportunity! Such a lovely and cheerful young man would bring some joy to the place
I love how they keep clapping on about him being King and I'm just over here like *"bruh she will likely outlive you"* Also honestly the Duke of York still using that ridiculous red suitcase. THE KING.....stop the cap
I love this depiction weather accurate or not because although Charles is an intellectual none of the women of his life were 😀. Diana wasn’t of her own accord and if this depiction is accurate Camilla isn’t either 😊. Which doesn’t mean that they are not sharp. But it’s funny because for all his intellectual side Charles actually likes girly girls. 😉😊
An intellectual woman would have been competition for Charles. That is one of the reasons he disliked Diana. She was much more likable in the popularity contest. Charles is very smart but he is not a true intellectual he lacks the rigorous training in debating, research etc. of a true intellectual. Charles does not like to be challenged by anyone outside of the polo field. or a horse race. He surrounds himself with "yes" men.
What you should if you didn't have freedom to choose what you want in your life. I would to see a lot of you in his position forced to do things you didn't want
Not a good idea for then Prince Charles comparing himself to his grand uncle if this actually happened. I guess he never got the memo of what really happened.
@octoberfire13 INFP (introverted, intuitive, feeling, perception) is one of the personality types according to the Myers-Briggs indicator. You can take a version of the test online and discover what it says about you. I think PDB is an online personality database.
he was extremely emphatic with his wife indeed … Like seriously you will forget history because a nice looking actor cried nicely because he didn’t get what he wanted? I would say what he has is narcissistic and egomaniacal disorder.
Actually if you look at the real camilla she does look beuatiful and stunning. And the crown messed camilla up and made her evne more dirty and needy which she wasn't in real life, but yet again the crown is for entertainment and TV show. I'm just saying don't shows like the crown are not always accurate
Even if they didn’t get appearances of Camilla & Diana 100%, they did appear to get the generational vibes of each correct in the sense of Camilla having a more late 70s Stevie Nicks type look & Diana having more of an 80s vibe to her look.
@@daniB70 Honestly if that woman put the effort she puts into manipulation manipulation and being an utter Karen, into educating herself and upgrading her "fashion", and some exercise she'd be a dynamo like Plato was
Camilla once wrote a letter to Diana that said she couldn't wait to see her ring in person when they had lunch and put it on her bed. Diana knew about the affair at the time. Diana once found out about their being a ball which the prince had told her not to attend and she went knowing that he would invite Camilla. She went downstairs to the basement and saw the two talking. She confronted them and Camilla protested "its easy for you, you have your sons". Recently Camilla said that Kate Middleton should not marry William because she is too common. Camilla is not a good woman and there is nothing about her that is remarkable. She is a greedy and vindictive person who coveted a married man with two children and had the nerve to continue after his wife died.
I just know that the Crown was a well done drama… Loosely based in fact. And I’m not British, so I’m looking at this as a total outsider. The way she was portrayed in the show, it did provide me with some sympathy for her…
Julie Hertz The incident you are speaking of when Diana confronted Camilla was not a ball. It was a private Birthday Party. Diana was invited but it was not expected that she would accompany Charles. At the time that Diana confronted Camilla about Charles, Diana herself was or had been involved in her own affairs. Barry Mannake and James Hewitt. So. In that context Camilla's response to Diana at that time was quite understandable. Yes Diana said that she wanted her husband but by that time she herself had already had 1 or 2 other men. Context is everything. Furthermore you yourself say that Diana knew about Charles affair with Camilla even at the time of the engagement and yet she married him! Camilla loves Charles. That is very obvious. They are happy and they were meant for each other. Camilla has always been a relaxed, warm hearted and down to earth country woman. She never sought the Crown. It was Diana who dreamed of being the Princess of Wales whereas Camilla has always loved Charles the man.
@@marigold6920 Regardless of her having her own affairs, Charles married a 19 year old girl and took complete advantage of her and caused her to suffer. Had he not been unfaithful to her, from the very beginning, I doubt that Diana would have had any affairs. If Charles loved Camilla so much, why did he not step aside and forget about being the next king? Camilla, being ‘warm hearted’ is a joke considering she continued to see a married man with children, and didn’t care about the pain and suffering her and Charles were causing Diana.
@@marigold6920 It was a birthday party, you're correct about that. I can't agree about Diana not loving Charles though. She was asked whether she would take him back even after it all happened and she said she would. Every time she was asked whether she loved him she said yes and he diverted the question. I believe Diana loved Charles more than Camilla. Love is about letting go and liberating. Love is about thinking about the other person before yourself. Diana let Charles go even when she had 2 sons with him. Camilla made Charles risk his future throne, the stability of his family, his marriage, his reputation simply because of their attraction. If she loved Charles she would also love his sons, she would have let the relationship go out of respect for them and how they must feel about her now their mother is dead. I believe she has lust for Charles and that a lot of it is based on the story of her grandmother who was the mistress of his grandfather.
@@julieherz8909 I agree that love also means knowing when to stop, but you got it the wrong way around. It was Diana who would not give up Charles even when he was very direct about wanting a divorce (remember the scene in The Crown when it's Diana who refuses to give up on the marriage and forces in front of his parents to try again) Camilla on the other hand told Charles a good few times that there was no future in it for them and to forget about her. Btw in real life Camilla gets on well with Charles' sons, so that is not the issue. I think Camilla was seriously tired of all the drama and just wanted to be with Charles in peace but that was tragically only possible after the accident.
Charles seems to have been such a tortured soul. Such depth. It seems that he has carried the weight of the world on his shoulders since childhood. No wonder he loves Camilla. She is his ray of sunshine.
@@loulicious5882 So what. Most men marry a mummy figure. Or are you too young to realise that. The majority of men want to be mothered by their wives. Diana was too young and immature and needy herself. She had Daddy issues. Charles and Diana could not give each other what they needed.
"Weight of the world on his shoulders" Oh please. The man has barely lifted his pinky finger ever since he was born with a golden spoon in his mouth. In other words, Charles has barely experienced what the actual common British working man goes through daily with exhausting work hours, trying to pay taxes on top of rent/mortgage and food. His little love triangle problem with Camilla and Diana is trife that little highschool boys experience and grow out of by the time they're in college. The common British man today is so overworked & underpaid that he barely has time to even think about being in a stupid love triangle.
The Crown totally misded how obssessed Camilla was with Parker-Bowles. In his 20s he was the go-to hunk for aristo girls. Good looking, phenomenal sportsman, great talker, charm central. Other girls warned her about him, but she got him, punching well above her own attraction weight. Then, true to form, he started going out with other women.
It is chilling how it is similar to that Oprah interview, and not in a good way. There is something so out of dignity to talk about someone who can not reply back, not publicly, and defend. And I am not even British, so not a monarchist. It just seems wrong.
I think Charles will make a great job of king now as he's known his entire life that was his duty his job his "calling" so to speak! I'm not an anti royalist infact i admire all the royals and have much respect towards them bcoz they are a part of British culture and heritage as english tea the great sunday roast and the very tasty yummy full english which everyone who is born n bred in britain will know INSTANTLY wot a full english is!!! Long live our new king! Charles 3rd!
Nonsense, she had nothing to envy her. Charles never loved Diana and loved Camilla all his life. Besides, Diana is dead and Camilla has become queen. It was Diana who envied Camilla for having Charles's love that she never got.
