Oh yes. The early Ventures! I practiced this on relentlessly in the early '60's. Took me forever to play the fast stuff! Thanks Tom! Perfectly as recorded back then.

This was a single back in 1964 by the Dakotas, Billy J Kramers back up band...did pretty good on British top 40.......

Serious top tier guitar instrumental ! The Dakotas version sounds really fast, almost sounds like a 12 String sound and for it to be a British record it couldn't sound more surf American.

If you want to hear the Original version it was played and written Mike Maxfield of The Dakotas, Nokie Edwards couldn't play the fast part so he changed it !!!

Used to play this live.Original was by The Dakotas,Got the sheet music when it first came out. I think if I remember that the flip side of the single was Magic Carpet.

Boy, am I glad I stumbled upon this instructional video. I’m playing rhythm guitar next Sunday for a gig with Drifting Sand and this tune is on our set list.
