Note: Click "Show More" for lyrics. The Cuff Links were an American rock/pop studio group from Staten Island, New York, United States. The band had a US No. 9 hit in 1969 with "Tracy", with rich harmonized vocals provided entirely by Ron Dante. The track was produced as part of a series of recording sessions - sometimes as many as six in a day - by Dante, with the songs released under a variety of band names.

When I was a kid our family would go to Yosemite on vacation and we would pass through this little valley town named Tracy in California. Heard this song on the radio back then and immediately thought of that town. Fast forward to adulthood and ... I live there!! And, it's not so "little" anymore! 😏

I really miss these catchy songs about love, wishful thinking and relationships; songs filled with joy, hope and youthful innocence. You could play them for your mother or grandmother and they would sing along! Now many of the pop stars - including women - are singing explicitly about sex (WAP) or Satanic sh*t or both. They may be trying to shock us. It doesn't shock us, It's absolutely disgusting.

I remember Byner's Canadian show Bizarre, which I caught on Showtime in the 80s. Bob Einstein (also from Curb Your Enthusiasm) did his Super Dave Osborne character.

Happy Birthday Ron Dante born on August 22, 1945. He is an American singer, songwriter, session vocalist, and record producer. Btw, none of the guys in the MV actually sang on the song. It was all Ron Dante, who did the singing for The Archies. When the song and first album became a big hit, they had to hire 7 musicians to actually perform it live. A fake band became a real band.

My adopted daughter's name was Tracy. Tragically, she died way too young because of her bad choices and her inability to free herself from her addiction. I know that she is with God and that I will see my Tracy again. ❤️
