Yeah, I agree with you that it’s crazy, but I mean, Thierry made them seem less-than-human to each other, while the family estate had been with them for generations
Fuck the rich, this story just proved how dumb and incompetent the family was, they so obviously didn't deserve the comfortable life they grew up with. I shudder to think that one of them was a medical professional yet didn't have the intelligence to realise he was being conned. Down with nepotism, this story is just meritocracy in its most raw form. The cunning and poor should always steal from the rich and inept
@@ilkkarautio2449 its lazy writing, if i say something 80 times in 15 minutes, its padding, not actual storywriting. I know this, i write short stories for fun.
@@notjimpickens7928 I write them professionally in my native language. It suits this format. You dont have to agree with me, but just think about how many people with foreign names are involved and over how long period this all happened. 🤔
The torture and humiliation Christine had to endure was absolutely insane. As a family with such inflated ego and blinded by riches, family members treated eachother worse than a stranger.
They were not blinded by riches nor did they have inflated egos. That would be presuming they were sound of mind. Their primary manipulation was done through fear and sowing seeds of doubt. Talk of riches were tertiary at best and that was only to redeem the family from it's current dire straits, which added to their fears which increased the hold of the manipulator.
@@Amagys Yes! Worse was that their financial situation was not so terrible to begin with! Tilly himself put them into this situation but their desperation as well as complete belief on him did not allow them to see through that.
I like to think it wasn't just about the money. Tilly got some kind of pleasure from torturing or manipulating these people, having them in his control.
Did u watch this stuff? They did. The authorities knew about it from the year 2000 or 2001. Cant do anything about it. They are adults. Cant just lock people up because they dont wanna talk to you. Lol Sigh. Rewatch it.
@@bluepiggaming204 well actually they didn't had a case they needed to talk to a victim to move in, the only thing that was stoping the cops was red tape the goverment put in their way
Watching these people believe in these ridiculous stories by an obvious conman, makes me wonder. If I was in a bad situation, could I be tricked into believing the same thing? It's a disturbing thought.
absolutely, perception is influenced by environment and thoughts, and perception is a human's genuine reality and nothing else. Once someone has taken hold of your perception and twists it, that's now your reality.
@Juicelad I would disagree, the man will keep making movies for the rest of his mortal days rich or not. Hes just a lunatic like that. Gotta love him tho
Best intro on RU-vid, find myself saying OKI randomly since I found this channel. This series is truly jaw dropping, Tilley is a certifiable sociopath.
@@okisweirdstories Thanks so much for breaking down this insane story in a digestible format. Can I ask what your main sources were for this series? It's a rabbit hole I wouldn't mind falling down.

I was sympathetic to them being manipulated until they were willing to torture Christine. And Phillip didn't even try to rescue her when he realized Tilly was a "crook".
Same here. I felt really bad for them but I honestly started crying after I saw what they did to Christine. I don't feel shit for Philip. Glad he got out but can't imagine how he would just leave her there to be tortured. Selling the mansion was what took them to suspect Terry, not torturing their family member
@@বদমাইশব্যাটা Sometimes I forget how many youtuber commentators have a master's in psychology and first-hand experience with the effects of being mentally manipulated and abused for 7+ years
Christine was also under his spell at that point, she believed she did have the transmission but was failing to retrieve it. She may not have gone with him. And remember that Phillipe left after attacking someone in a rage and nearly killing them; that was the specific catalyst that got him out. In that mindset, no one is stopping to try and rescue anyone else. He headed straight to the hospital because he felt he was out of control and dangerous; when you get to the point your in the ER for mental health help, you are not able to think clearly or logically or make any kind of plan outside of "go to the hospital".
The clips with David Thewlis are from Naked (1993), one of the bleakest, most brutal, and most brilliant films I've ever seen. I loved it but can't bring myself to watch it again. Props Oki! Mad skills m'lud.
I've been looking for this track for decades, blimey, thank you so much! One more mystery tune off the list. That's one Team Champion Point for you right there sir! :D
12:09 "Tilly returned to tell them he had intercepted an assassin and had successfully neutralized the threat" > Oki uses clip of a clown neutralizing itself oh i see what you did there
What could his endgame have possibly been by playing out the whole transmission thing to such an extreme? I mean, that was honestly the most extreme length he went to through all of this craziness yet it was in search of a treasure that he invented in his imagination! Was he driven to madness and delusion at this point? I just can't see why he would play that aspect out after already having milked them for all of their wealth. This shit is beyond crazy!
As a person with some experience with cults and esotericism, he had no endgame. I'm betting that Tilly identified the person who was least invested in his brainwashing and isolated them as a fear manipulator to control her and discredit her to her family. It's called othering and is a way to make an example of dissenters without directly employing force, but in private situations gets REAL DARK. Like scientology having former members murdered by believing members while leaving leadership room for plausible deniability. Trump even did this to incite the Jan 6 riot indirectly (among other manipulators.) It's weird to revisit this series after all that
@@PointsofDatawas going to say, at this point it’s undeniably being revealed that a large part of his motivation is sadism and the joy he gets in controlling their every move. legitimately harrowing to know humans exist like this out there.
Yet we have self control and wait for HIS video instead of watching/reading any other sources. (Which I know I will but only AFTER part 5 is done. Lol.)
They had such a high sense of self importance and they were in a vulnerable situation when this first started. They were paranoid and then Tilly made them financially dependent on him and made him their one source of trust. He’s a master manipulator that just had the perfect timing or was just knew how to look for a vulnerable person. That’s how this all was able to happen
dude, i cant follow this story at ALL, but it is still completely insane. thank you so much. been with ya since the beginning, and you never disappoint.
If this ends in another cliff hanger i'll be furious (secretly hoping for a cliff hanger so we get another episode). Edit: i hate you (can't wait for next week)
"That's all you need to know now" brings me so much comfort. I was almost upset that I couldn't hear more about the story from you and then... nothing. I moved on to my next video because that's all I needed to know
For another cult story, check out roch thériault aka (savage messiah). There's even a movie about him called savage messiah. It crazy because at one point this guy was running his commune in the Gaspé Peninsula where I am from!
I just recently found this channel, and I watched the 3 parts before this about a week ago. I'm happy there's a new part out already! This story is just too wacky.
I'm French so how am I learning of this story just now? I guess this is what happens when you never watch TV... I'm gonna go and watch the French documentaries you're showing while I wait for the last part to come out!
Punishing and interrogating someone for some information that they do not know, like asking them to explain a crime they know nothing about, is extremely damaging to the mind. It is like pushing their mind against a brick wall which they can not break through, it can end up sort of inverting the psyche and causing things like psychological disassociation. And with interrogation and hypnosis you could install the suggestion in the mind that one does know and promote delusions to a great extent.
I get everything for money, but I think Tilly's problems obviously go further than greed, and this is clearly shown with literal torture in this episode. Holy hell. Also i hope this channel keeps on growing, I love it
I know it's pretty cold and unfair of me, but as I watch each of these ... I have less and less sympathy for the family members who swallowed so much of this dude's bullshit wholesale. Those who recognized what was happening, however, I have the deepest sympathy for. To watch this insanity happening in real-time, with open eyes, and not be able to convince your closest loved ones that they were being duped. It must have been horrible.
Yeah going through that instead my dad himself is duping himself into believing our neighbors are a spy, I live in an apartment. No one can tell him different
It is really difficult to feel sorry for most of them (apart from Christine ofc) since they are being so insanly naive, greedy, disloyal and distrustful. No way Tilly could have done that to a "normal" family.
Eh I kinda disagree. There's a little crazy in most "normal" families. I mean to even be "normal" you need some sort of restraint. Then the question of what you're restraining yourself from comes up. I guess the answer to that question would be the insanity that family showed. What I'm saying is that every civilized person has a little crazy in them, you just have to get it to come out.
At the start they were a perfectly normal family outside of their wealth dude. Thierry slowly widdled them down and divided them, as every charismatic cultish leader does.
Greedy and be Naive. If you understand that there is no easy way to get rich and there is always a price (selling your soul, robbing a bank, becoming someones else private prostitute). When people are not Naive they make questions.
I feel so sorry for them all. I look foward to part 5. It is an incredible story. Always be cautious with investments. Always spread risk. Never put all money with one person.
How did these crazy people convince themselves that they were being targeted by the world government for being the finest example of nobility, when they were all shut inside and living in poverty?
they didn't. They were very brutally manipulated into thinking so. If you've ever met someone who is ultra religious, it's a sort of similar thing. Do some research into jahovah's witnesses
If you found this interesting I could recommend the film "Dogtooth", since it concerns a similar story. Note that that one is fictional though, but it's a great film.
This story is so insane, It is crazy to think a whole family like this could be tricked so bad to give this fool all their money and everything else they did. That Tilly guy should be in jail for ever for destroying that family
Jeeze man. Give us the end of the story already! I'll admit your a beast when it comes to digging deep and I'm glad that you've provided videos with some meat on them but I've been following this damn story since part 1. I'm going crazy waiting to see what happens and I don't want to Google it and end up spoiling it for me. This story is unbelievable, it's amazing what some people will believe if pitched the right way. When I found out he had taken 4.5 million euros I was like SWEET ZOMBIE JESUS CHRIST! And that's only from that one couple who knows how much more he really ended up taking and he was probably working other people as well. Fucking hell, when I was a shorty in elementary school and they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up? I should've answered a conman. Instead my fat little head couldn't think big and I said I wanted to own a McDonald's... my reasoning behind that was that if I own the place I could get free happy meals whenever I wanted or get to pick MY choice of toy instead of being stuck with whatever shitty one they had to many of... alright... this turned into a ramble session, so I'm just gonna subtly walk backwards out of this conversation.
Okay, I know this is part 4, but how on earth did Terry Tili get those court cases dropped when he first met the family? Was that lawyer he was working with just that good?
It’s just like Ponzi. These peoples greed not to pay taxes and debts led to their belief in this cult. They deserve what their blind desire for wealth got them.
Crazy how somebody can be so manipulative if they just use that energy for something else. That is crazy it's amazing how he was like oh be sure you tell me anything that happens to you while you're out and about or if anything happens out of the ordinary so that he could construct more Stories from what they witness
Thanks man, you put out great stuff. I really like how you put everything out in chunks. It shows how much effort you put into your episodes, and keep everything interesting.
I swear I thought you were making this whole story up. I thought it was creative writing when the first video came out. I know humans can be highly susceptible in the right conditions but these people..these people are incredibly thick.
Hi, could you put the subtitles in spanish? I want to show a lot of your videos to my friends but most of them doesnt understand english good enough, i could even send you the translation :c . Ty, and great videos :D
