It's good to hear a celebrity admit this. So many of them try so hard to make everyone think they are just humble, good natured, generous people and they are just the opposite.

The Brain isnt able to do two big things at once. To feel your own pain and at the same time the pain of someone else. When you feel your pain the brain isnt able to feel the pain of others. and when you feel pain or anxiety of others you are not able to feel or solve your own pain. or feel empathy as e well. Brain can do one big task at once not two big tasks at once. Therefore forgive people for their ignorance of not understanding you pain. and forgive each other. because if they feel pain, or anxiety, their brain isnt able at the same moment feel anxiety of other people, therefore the brain feels like judgmental toward people. But as people calm down and heal emotions only then they may feel empathy to each other.

The sad part is that wanting to be in the performing arts is often motivated much more because the person tragically can’t do anything else well or even close to as well as they can sing, act, dance, play instrument etc. But to want fame from it…that’s where you can lose your soul.

I concur for scripted entertainment, but for athletics I don’t think this mold necessarily applies as strongly as for the performing arts. Take for instance: Pete Sampras, Nikola Jokic, Steve Nash, Tim Duncan, Steffi Graf…. Ppl that were all about the art, not the circus surrounding it. …maybe performing arts has that too… I hear Cillian Murphy hates the lime light…
@closer71

Maybe. In the old days (pre-Internet) you had to have talent in order to be famous. Most people were just famous because they were incredibly good at something not because they're narcissists. Nowadays, yeah. Most famous people are just self-obsessed, god-hating pyschopaths.

I worked at very hip bar in L.A. for a long time and met several celebrities. I was lucky, the celebrities I met were all good people. I learned that celebrities are just people with a different job. Nothing other than that separates a celebrity from someone like me working the bar. NOTHING. Popularity, fame and money doesn't make anyone a better person. Celebrities should be thankful they have the job they have.
@rationalconservative386
@rationalconservative386 20 дней назад
Obviously...... I never understood why people fawn over "celebrities". I was 30 when I got a job that allowed me to meet hundreds of them. Many would scoff when I didn't treat them like a god. I don't look for man's approval. Only God, the father, and his son, Jesus Christ, is the only one I put on a pedestal. I quit that job 3 years ago. It paid extremely well, but my happiness and my relationship with God is much more important. Also, they were left wing nuts and pushed for the jab. I refused the jab and I've NEVER been a leftist (why people still call them "liberal" is beyond me).

Probably the most down to earth that I spent about an hour of time with was Dee Snider (Anaheim location) and all of guys from Bare Naked Ladies (Vegas).Treated me like a person and looked me in the eye and shared small fun facts about their job as a celebrity basically they were relational. The younger an entertainer gets hoisted into the limelight, the less self-awareness they tend to have, because that's all they've ever been accustomed to. He seems like an introspective guy, but that's certainly not common of most celebrities with a household name. There's a level of detachment that famous people have to the experience of the ordinary person, and it's difficult for them to empathize if their elitist bubble is all they've ever known.

I met an Emmy winning actress a few years ago who's whole persona is how nice she is. Everyone who knew who before I met her told me she was nice when I asked them what was she like. Her fellow co-workers, neighbors, friends, everyone would always describe her as nice. Only her husband described her differently. Let's just say he didn't call her nice. I thought he was a jerk for being so "mean" about her. Then I got to know her on an intimate level too and turns out the husband was right not mean. The woman turned out to be a narcissist to her core. Being "nice" was how she got attention. Hollywood actors are great for tv watching but not for real life living. At least now I know.

Adrian is very down to earth. Did a Hallmark show with him years ago with Amy Smart, and Adrian was a consummate professional. Interesting to hear more of his perspective on the fame of Entourage, but the one thing I think they should have mentioned was the show became a success due to Adrian’s talent, it wasn’t “handed” to him. He mentions the chemistry of the Cast which was palpable, but he carried the show, and the show isn’t successful if it isn’t worth watching, which he was instrumental in by embodying that character so fully. I will admit the show’s writing became repetitive, predictable, and the premise became stale, but he came to work every day anyway, and I’m sure he did it on time and ready to give 💯 either way.

I’m an actress, and worked with awesome leading men and women, just worked with one this weekend, and some meh leads. Adrian is right about it all and I avoid being friends with actors because it’s really a lot about what you can get from them. The industry is a hustle and I keep my connections as business contacts which is no different in the business, but I keep it real about why we are talking. We do a trade, scratch each others backs, but don’t pretend it’s anything else. Some will try to get you to become emotionally invested just to elevate or get work. Even the PAs know better. I have a level narcissism but I’m not willing to hurt people to get what I want. I find it’s just as productive to be upfront with it and have something to help them with in return.

Good news this actor guy may actually be a normal decent human whose humanity survived the void of shadow self known as Hollywood. Hope it’s not an act.

So tired of most celebrities who try way too hard to seem humble and funny when in reallity they love being praised, they know exactly what to say and even how to move to make people talk about how great they are.

The word narcissism comes from the Greek "Narcissus" who was a guy that fell in love with his own image. So you can draw your own conclusions about people who are constantly looking at themselves in the mirror, or are obsessed with their image, or fall in love with someone who looks like them. If you can't marry yourself what's the next best thing?

Fame and fortune can either make or break a celebrity. Too much privacy may not help the very person of a celebrity. Transparency is how dignity will be built up in order for people to believe and appreciate the actor.
