Incredible as it is, the percussions of "A Forest" are not by a drum machine, but they are played by the band's drummer Lol Tolhurst, as precise as a rhythm machine. He didn't miss a beat. Very rarely I have heard such a millimeter-accurate drumming created by human hands. Really amazing!

@@giacomojamesPunkRockHeadReact Giacomo! Sempre a proposito di drummers particolarmente precisi, vorrei segnalarne uno quasi sconosciuto ma mai sottovalutato nella prima scena synthpop 80's. E' inglese e si chiama Phil Towner, il batterista ufficiale delle cult bands New Musik e Naked Eyes. A mio parere è il drummer più metrononicamente preciso che io abbia mai ascoltato. Il genere musicale di sua appartenenza potrebbe non essere il tuo preferito, tuttavia, al solo scopo di ammirarne la bravura, merita almeno un ascolto. A puro scopo di curiosità, ti propongo un paio di tracce synthpopish ritmate da lui: una uptempo dei New Musik ed una midtempo dei Naked Eyes, nelle quali si denota la sua tecnica lineare, pulita e simmetrica quanto una drum-machine. Prova a trovare un errore nell'intera struttura percussiva delle songs...non ci riuscirai! Hi, recently I listened to a lot of "post rock/metal" bands, usually not my taste but decided to expand my knowledge of the genre, the influence of The Cure in most of them is remarkable (also recognised a Cocteau Twins' influence). Only found three/four bands that sound interesting (the rest sound and LOOK 😱 the same, at least to me), but though interesting, none gets high level of the mentioned; some playing hability, top notch over-production and, though pretended, zero emotion; after the third track they become repetitive and boring, soomething tha The Cure has never been (nor Cocteau Twins). @@aryasurya2332 I can just suggest you to listen to the Dark trilogy, 1980/1982, it's a slowly and intense fall to the Hell of madness, It begins with the atmospheric Seventeen Seconds (1980), then the beautiful and dark melodic Faith (1981), a piece of art about death and mourning and it ends with the nihilistic ans doomed Pornography... all this three albums were composed with Bass, guitar is just an ornement, technically the band split during the Pornogrpahy tour, due to conflict between Robert SMith and Simon Gallup and high abuse of Alcohols and Drugs.....

Quando uscì l'album seventeen seconds avevo 15 anni e questo brano mi colpì subito e a livello musicale mi ha lasciato un segno indelebile, ti consiglio se hai modo e tempo di ascoltare tutto l'album a mio parere ne vale veramente la pena. Joy division, the cure e bauhaus gruppi insuperati in ambito new wave-post-punk mi fa immensamente piacere che qualcuno delle nuove generazioni ascolti questi gruppi e li possa apprezzare.
