I really am curious as to why the band never re embraced this version of the song. (A forest) It is so good, and I’m sure there’s a lot of us out there that would have liked to see a studio mastered version with a prime Robert Smith. Only in a perfect world.
It's so weird THIS specific version of the song keeps getting copyright strikes and taken down, it sucks cause its one of my favorites easily, like I cant find the version with live video at all anymore why this one recording I wonder

It was a tv show called Chorus in France and presented by Antoine de Caunes in 1979 to 1981. In France, we have discovered the cure, dire straits, the police, pat benatar, peter gabriel, elvis costello the pretenders, the stranglers, madness ...and of course The Clash! A DVD collector of Chorus exists with this original version of the forest called a nignt by the cure.
Great! I have about a two hour playlist of live versions of Faith and an hour and half of Forever versions. Who cares!?!? Don’t be mean. A thing that’s supposed to set us apart as Cure fans is being nice and kind and in this together. Otherwise, what’s the point?

I watched it, the base is sick !... Was their very first TV performance I think it was in Sept 79' or summin, RS had a pink stretched out sweater on if I'm not mistaken... The track was first named ' at night ' before they've changed it to ' a forest '...

Forest sounds like the soundtrack to a chase scene through the forest and you're looking for a ghost and then at the end the thing you were looking for was within or some shit like that.

I must ask why someone removed this first TV appearance from RU-vid, the Forest song, will it be that the singer no longer likes to see how new it was, the getting old complex.:) it was a pity because it was a unique historical file
