The 70’s records were vastly underrated. That was some brilliant stuff. Big Bob Smith had sounds in his head that didn’t exist until he gave them to us. Genius
Fantastic!! They were so young and sounded fresh. This The Cure that I like the most. Simon was playing very good and Robert was sooo attractive for me here wow!... I love it, what a good live show, thank you for sharing it!
@@jezza10181 Simon isn't playing anything that wasn't already there, Michael played as busy as hell bassline on the original, and Simon replicated the vibe of it for Another Journey...
Tried playing this on guitar along with Robert. FUCK, my right hand is about to fall off. What a magnificent group these three (and occasionally four) were.
@david_post_punk not ready for that. It's been awhile and I'm sure it sounds like shite until I worked it out... again. But in a chord and riff wise it's not too bad , in a technical way. But to get the rhythms and nuances down is another matter
Your title should refer to the fact that the band launches immediately into the excellent instrumental "Another Journey By Train." Thanks for uploading this and in amazing quality, too.
la unica razon por la que esta no es la mejor cancion que he escuchado en toda mi vida, es porque the cure saco mas!... lo mas grande de todos los tiempos!!!!
Someone told me smith was so wrapped up in being successful he never had time to be with anyone else but band mates in rehearsals and the occasional hanger on friends of theirs. When not rehearsing he was to himself writing and putting out as many words in the work until he found which words flowed to the music most. And even then he was strict to not share until studio ready.
@@miloesalazar he’s kind of my fav drummer, wouldn’t say he was the ‘best’ (Boris maybe.) But his work on their first 3 albums contains some of my fav drum riffs, figurehead, other voices, strange day, pornography, hanging garden etc etc
Damn, that's good!!! If i could have this playing in my eyes and ears as i go about my normal day, i would have it every day every damn second for the rest of my life!!
There are 2 Cure tracks in this video, Jumping Someone Else's Train up to the drum solo then the instrumental Another Journey by Train, B side of A Forest.
As a railfan I like this song, and Another Journey by Train! Really the entire Boys Don't Cry album is great! I think Robert Smith is older than I am (or almost)!
