How time will heal Make me forget You promised me Time will heal Make me forget You promised me Love will save us all And time will heal You promised me... How love will save Make me forget You promised me Love will save Make me forget You promised me Time will heal us all And love will save You promised me... I trusted you I wanted your words Believed in you I needed your words Time will heal make me forget And love will save us all You promised me another wish Another way You promised me another dream Another day You promised me another time You promised me another life You promised me.. So I swallowed the shame and I waited I buried the blame and I waited Choked back years of memories... I pushed down the pain and I waited Trying to forget... You promised me another wish Another way You promised me another dream Another day You promised me another time You promised me... Another lie Oh you promised me... You promised me... You promised me... And I waited... And I waited... And I waited... And I'm still waiting...
GOt 2 things to say here: 1- The Cure never gets old- they keep on pumping out good stuff and still are (esp their latest EP Torn Down from 2019) 2- This album is a testament to how being in the right kind of environment helps bring out the artists talent- this album was recorded in a dark room full of chandeliers and candles, and there were chains on the walls. Robert Smith wanted just that environment for recording. You can hear it in the music- this album is a sumptous, dark, swirling dreamscape of great songs one after another.
The CURE always beginning in higher level ! Haunting and fascinating sound ! Wow ! Amazing ! Promise I will always love their unic and great sound ! Deep lyrics. Robert Smith is a true poete
I used to really dislike this album, which caused me to overlook amazing songs like this and "Lost." This is one of my favorite songs ever and the live rendition is brilliant. Thanks for uploading.
To all haters of the "new" The Cure - this is The Cure taken to a whole new level, this contains everything that comes in your mind when saying "The Cure" and then upgrades it with even more intensity, sorrow, love, hate and power. And you should thank Ross Robinson's genius for this. He saved The Cure. It's a pity if you don't know who he is or if you know him only by his (nu)metal projects... I guess true art and true geniuses take very long time to get evaluated... Just listen.
There were no heroes or villains in the making of this album. It was ruined for many by a. The loudness war, b. Ross objectifying the Cure, C. RS famous stubbornness that left the best tracks off the album. So conclusively speaking, the album was pulled in too many different directions. Clashing egos created a rift. But at least it was marketed properly. Hey.
Je pense que certain d'entre nous sente le souffle , ce vent qui nous pénètre a chaque trips qu'on prend dans la FACE !!! je te promet . j'ai bien fais d'attendre ...............
@vertigoexist they were not fired they just didn't feel like playing anymore but now Roger is back, it is always like this, members go away and then they come back when they feel like playing with the band again.
@javveboy I don't listen to Limp Bizkit and I'm far from an emo kid, I've been a fan of The Cure since Pornography, do you know how far in time that is? But the thing is that I didn't stop developing my music taste and I'm able to appreciate good music without "style" or "time" prejudice. "Pornography" is good, "Korn 1994" is good, Godflesh's "Pure" is good...The fact that you didn't get why I told you to go and listen to Friday I'm In Love makes me believe that I wasted my time replying to you.
@javveboy Yeah, right. My ass. And Rick Rubin destroyed Slayer's sound on "Reign in blood", same way :] Anyway, why do you mention "metal rap" in comment to THIS song? It's nothing else than classic The Cure tune. Period.
I think the cure generally performs much better live compared to the studio recordings but the songs from the cure album , lack power on the live stage..They need more ummmpfffff....Better drummer and metal guitars to replicate what was on the disc...
