Kind of like how circumcision used to cure tuberculosis, bed wetting, epilepsy, nocturnal seminal emissions, abdominal neuralgia, prevent blindness, spinal paralysis, masturbation, and syphilis, while remaining in tact put someone at risk of becoming crossed eyes.

I live in Pittsburgh… was this a hotspot for Radithor? When I was a kid, my dad bought and renovated an old pharmacy that had sat empty for many decades (I still have the coca and morphine certificates from the 1920s, and logs of whiskey prescriptions made to various Pittsburgh residents during prohibition). I assumed that the vial of mercury I used to play with in the basement of that building was probably the most dangerous thing there, but considering that I still have a few of those half full antique bottles, the labels of which long ago turned to dust… I probably shouldn’t drink them, just to be on the safe side, right?

Two examples are the adrenal glands and the pancrase (that type I diabetics produce low or no insulin). BTW people complain about regulations and alphabet regulatory bodies of the US government and this kind of thing would happen again if all drug regulations were repealed. Health and safety regulations are written in blood (and apparently in cancer-cells).
I believe Daven is Canadian, that might account for some pronunciations, assuming that like me, you are American. I can't verify this, as I'm not sure how those words are commonly pronounced in Canada, but that's my thought.
People are still gullible, it's just to what level of gullibility they have. People are jumping on every diet scam, makeup products that cost ten times more than it's worth just because of the name on the product. And many other products as well

The past wasn't the worst. Just different. As humanity hasn't changed, and is generally stupid and awful, they're the lion's share of any problems past or present. People are the worst. Individuals can be better.
