Despite everything, I'll still give Infinite props for starting the conversation on battle passes that don't expire. You may have mentioned that though and I just missed it.
Rebs Gaming did a short video essay compiling all the available info about Infinite's troubled development, I think Nikos and a few other Halo people did videos on how fractured and troubled Infinite's dev cycle was with Xbox, Microsoft, old 343 and contractors and how Joe Staten had to be pulled in to get an extra year of dev time to try and salvage the project for the launch we ended up getting. There's likely NDA's but I am curious about what happened. I like Pierre Hintze, I think he's a great PM and since leading the charges on fixing MCC and Infinite, I do hope he and others will provide strong direction for the next HALO titles that are feature complete + polished at launch.
Completely agree with you here. The one good thing about Infinite's failure at launch is that we FINALLY got a complete shake up at 343 for the first time since it's inception.
they have sunset infinite it is obvious, and if they havent holy shit is it sad watching 343 not even be able to finish a vehicle but have the forgers do all the content and service for the game
i dont know if i would say its sad in the sense that 343 doesnt care or doesnt want to do it. everyone ive spoken to at 343 loves halo and wants it to do well and be what fans want. i think with the change in leadership, the vision changed. maybe they dont want to do live service anymore and go back to the old ways. so many people were let go, so im not gonna be mad or yell into the void that they just dont want to finish vehicles or weapons, cause im sure they do. we have asked for years for UGC to be incorporated into halo in a more official way. i do not understand how we have gone from that to now blaming 343 for using TOO MUCH forge content. its just kinda weird to me
i never asked for more forge stuff but i see what you are talking about i just wish 343 could actually do live service cause live service is great when done right keeps the hype rolling and good for content creators but ehhh they never did it well from the get go @@Hollowtide
Full package? Doubt that brother, so much more is still missing, the game is only about 75% complete after two years. Examples: Assasinations, new unique firefight modes, handcrafted firefight only maps, elites, invasion, new weapons/equipment/vehicles, campaign dlc. All of these are missing, such a damn hard shame.
@@Hollowtide We should of at least gotten 7 or 8 seaons by the end of this year, It would of made more sense content wise, that way, 343 can shift full focus on next halo at the start of 2025.
Honestly crazy comparing how much content H5 got in 2 years compared to Infinite. H5 got dozens of weapons, vehicles, armors, modes, assassination animations, etc. They did all that while also still supporting and adding to their big 3rd mode Warzone. Not to mention you could unlock it all through gameplay. H5 was truly the best live service Halo game.
I hope they come up with halo 7 or whatever is next soon and do a good job with variety and storytelling hopefully the sucess of all these indy studios gets them to focus on quality with whatever is next and bring splitscreen back please!
As someone who has played this game since launch and purchased shop items during seasons 4 and 5 because I wanted to show my support for 343's hard work to fix everything, CU 29 and all the content being in the store feels like a slap in the face. Not sure if I will ever play another 343 game.
Guys I think 343 is onto something even though it may be really far out, but the new map having different gravities just feels like they are testing for an invasion mode? Am I Reaching??
I feel like it'll be okay, generally speaking. We'll get a solid update every month until the next game, and then maybe even beyond that. I really doubt they're going to give up on this game, we're only two months in to 2024 and we've already got more than 10 new maps. But still people complain somehow! Sure, most of them are forge maps, but could any developer really be able to crank out 10 fucking maps in two months?? I doubt it For me, Infinite isn't only my favorite Halo multiplayer, but maybe my favorite game ever. It's just so unique and the gameplay's just amazing. Things have been really solid for over a year now, and I'm stoked for each coming operation. Not to mention, it's all free! If people don't want to buy things, they don't have to. But people are so salacious for clicks and clout that they'll pile on regardless of the validity of their claims. It's a real shame Again, it doesn't matter to me. I'll prob be playing this game until the next one, and maybe even beyond that Rant concluded
i love i got to experiece HALO from day one, pre youtube, pre social media, pre dlc, pre BP...pre live service...we played the games and enjoyed them! now if we dont get dlc every other week the game isnt worth it...
I played Halo first for the story and then got into multi-player. Having infinite not having a story really is disgusting to me. The real heart of halo was the story that brought people in for the heart tugs, music, and the sheer will of playing a game that made the universe feel like it was expansive. The forge, firefight, and custom games were always there to TRAIN spartans and keep their skills honed for the next battle that was to come. Halo used to be about a journey to save the universe and to be able to put everything on the line to do so no matter what. After i played through halo infinite's campaign and completed everything on the map i tried to get into multi-player but my heart sunk as i feel like this game wasn't crafted with the love and wonder we all know. It was made to be a cash grab, and it tore me away from Halo due to it. Halo is my favorite series for good reason, but i look at infinite as a spinoff and just a disgusting piece of trash.
No bro i mean im scered for future halo im afraid the next game will be same old story of 343 being bad at making halo game i just hope it will never happen
@@arsongaming Understandable but doesn't make what I said any less true, if the studio can't do a live service without facing burnout I'd hope they wouldn't do a live service two times in a row, like they did here. They gotta care about their devs and hopefully create a game they can entertain players with without under-delivering the mark with an overly ambitious idea.
I think the problem is that the sales targets are now based on fortnight levels of monitization success. Games are now meant to be these huge addictive cash cows and whether its halo or battlefield, once they fix the game and it drops down to below what they could have gotten with just a regular GOOD game, its unfortunately not profitable enough to keep making. It's like well great it's good, but good takes too much work for too little money
I really enjoyed the gameplay of halo infinite. And the campaign was by far the best from 343. It’s sad to see how far the game fell after such a bangin release and so many people praising it
Halo 5 was more of a live service game than Halo Infinite turned out to be. It feels like Infinite has had a really short life span. Guess that just shows how much turmoil the studio was really in. I only hope they dont waste time switching game engines and throwing away all the progress they have made with Slipspace. It will be many years until we see a new game if they do this.
@@Hollowtide So add on the lifetime of Infinite and we will be getting onfor 6 years between games. Only way its any shorter than that is if they release Inifinite 2.
Yes, you are so right about it being like Battlefront 2! I really thought EA was the only dumb one in that way, BUT apparently 343 is right along side them doing the same exact thing!!!
@@Hollowtide damn okay trying to do a theater movie rental for the Halo series finale and wanted to invite some people to an AMC, thanks for replying 💪🏼
Current state (which is the exact same as day 1) - still desynced and hence unplayable, still with forced crossplay against M+K users and cheaters, still no basic objective playlists to play... The game's dead for a reason, and the reasons aren't cosmetic which is the only thing 343 kept adding to the game, adding a map or mode (only to delete is a week later) is not what people meant for those past 2 years when they asked 343 to fix the game.
you do know that a large amount of people use zim on console lol... as someone who plays both mnk and controller, controller is much stronger/easier on this game lol
Halo inifinite was the only halo game that made me bored on day 1. Also because halo 5 feels superior to infinite in every way. Im glad its dying. Its so boring.
