Its very unfortunate that a few misreable scums ruined the GTS. Fortunate there is ways to counter it, like friend trading but would be awesome if Nintendo did something about it atleast in the first place.

Yeah, the GTS has been screwed for quite a while. I remember seeing people "trading" level 100 legendaries for Female Latios and other impossible pokemon and that was only a year or so after the game came out.

The worst part? this issue didn't pop up after the game was past it's life span, this issue existed while ultra sun and moon were the current titles.

@KevdogPlays That Japan Kebuju trainer is the one responsible for the game freezing because he flooded the GTS with his hacked pokemon requesting for yungoos and magikarp and other common baby pokemon and so when you pass him your game freezes. Also if you search for a pokemon that Japan Kebuju deposited in the gts your game may freeze instantly. He is the reason that everyone quit using the GTS on pokemon Sun and Moon games as well as Pokémon Ultra Sun and Moon games. That is why pokemon sun and moon series is not very popular on average 6 players play on festival plaza now vs the 40 players from back then.

Adventure Snivy is a menace and irritating. The fact you can't even use the GTS in this generation is incredibly sad. And these other hackers are absolutely terrible.

It’s not just with legendarys that this happens. I searched up Chespin and my game still froze. It seems like no matter how rare or common the Pokémon is, there’s people that are doing this

I'm surprised no kid made a bad creepypasta out of the game freezing before going over certain trainer profiles. That's a "spirit got trapped in my garage-sale-bought game" story waiting to happen.

The girl trainer in pink is also ChloeGarcia, and while it looks like they tried to do the same “fix” that others did before by flooding the GTS with tradeable hacked Pokémon, a lot of their hacked Pokémon are faulty too and cause the same freeze, which… just makes the issue worse actually 🙃

Despite Japan Kebuju messing the GTS up we luckily had some bot trainers on the game that’ll give us the desired Pokémon, Misuki Tv is one of them where you just put a Diglett on the GTS with the desired Pokémon and you’ll get a shiny variant of the Pokémon in under 10 minutes. That’s how I finished the Pokédex for Ultra moon

Pokemon Ultra Moon was the first ever video game I got over 500 hours in. It's so dissapointing to see them shut down, and it's just as dissapointing to see none of the issues with the hacked GTS pokemon have been fixed. I hope that when the 3DS pretendo servers come out, the pretendo network somehow bans these people so they can finally stop ruining the fun for everyone else once and for all.

The GTS has got to be 1 of GF's biggest regrets given how quickly it was ruined long before the 3DS shutdown was announced...there's a reason why we don't see it anymore in Gen 8 & Gen 9 Although it apparently exists on the mobile app for Pokemon Home...tho it can't be that much better lmao

It makes it worse that on the last day of pokemon GTS we won’t even be able to use it to send it off properly. 😢

If there was one feature I'm not sad of going is the 3DS GTS in it's current state

When you get banned from the gts in the gen 7 games, you only have to wait about an hour in game for it to allow you to trade again.

Something I’ve realized is some Pokémon seem to be “safe” on the gts and stuff like Youngoos for shiny legendarys you can get without getting temp banned For example: I have an entire box full of hacked Drampa

I started playing Ultra Sun recently, and decided to do my first ever Wonder Trade. I got a Gastly who'd go on to become part of my main team. Nothing seemed off about him, and he's a fully grown Gengar now. But I'm starting to wonder if I got lucky with my trade if the trading scene in the 3DS Pokemon games is this bad.

Quick note about the shiny Regice: it has to be from original RSE (or at least genned to look that way). Pokemon originating in ORAS have the Kalos "pentagon" origin mark.

I remember as a kid I was trying to get a shiny Jirachi in the GTS with a Kakuna. I got a 3DS error (not an in game error, a system error). I can't fully remember what it said, but it did say it was an illegal trade and it could potentially threaten my system. Fortunately nothing bad happened to my system, but god it scared me!

I remember trying to use the GTS for trade evolution Pokémon but kept crashing every time I'd scroll through so I resorted to cloning my Type: Null and asking for the trade evos instead, it's somehow possible for people to find my offers.

this breaks my heart that nintendo doesnt really care to fix these issues. why would they? whatever ill stick to "single player" experiences on pokemon. it really is an end of an era

Gamefreak never implimented something to screen pokemon that were already in the system Once you hack through the screening it's there till you remove it, Gamefreak doesn't have moderators or a system to double check existing pokemon It just piles up until it's unusable which is another issue, there is no sendback system that clears the GTS if your pokemon has been in for too long

I still trade shinie's on the GTS for people who need some help sometimes, Mostly on ORAS or X/Y. It's a shame all this happened i had alot of memories with these games.

The servers shutting down could be a good thing. We could possibly get the same exploits we got in the ds. I'd love to get the event pokemon in my ultra moon that are now unavailable

I didnt look up videos on the gts so i was super surprised to see how hacked gen 6 gts got. I was just looking for a crogunk or toxicroak to masuda method with and yeah.. the gender of the pokemon they wanted was super broken...

Yep, it was frustrating! The fact that the GTS mode of generation 7 Pokémon 3DS games froze when it was filled with hacked Pokémon is one of the reasons why I moved my Masuda method hunt of a shiny Froakie from Pokémon Ultra Moon to Pokémon Scarlet.

This is why I don’t trade online, sick of the cons and trade backs for evos are rarely honoured.

3:03 yeah I didn’t find that out till last year. They ruined GTS forever since they traded hacked Pokémon. You can’t even find Pokémon at any level anymore since there’s a chance you may encounter people who have hacked Pokémon. The game works by the way, it’s that part of GTS is the problem. Man I wish that action replay thing didn’t exist cause cheat codes ruin everything

To be honest it really sucks and it makes me kinda sad that these games are like this, I can only hope that once the old pokemon games are shut down that they will remake them for the switch because I absolutely loved them as a kid❤

Besides these losers, there are also bots set up to give you any Pokémon you want. Don't use the global search, pointless endeavour, just put any kind of dweeb Pokémon online, ask for the Pokémon you want in return (no matter how ridiculously rare), and within 10 minutes or maybe a day you'll receive it, shiny as well. It's happened consistently for me, made me curious to look up the name of the user that kept sending me these, led me to a live stream where I literally saw my name pop up as this bot traded with me. Of course, these Pokémon will also not be legitimate, but it's an easy way to complete your Pokédex.

I wonder if there is a way your whole system can get bricked by trading via GTS. It may be possible for the save file, but not as easy for the entire 3DS.

The only reason I'd say the Gen 6 GTS is better is because you could technically use it, but the gen 7 GTS is a minefield not worth exploring. Regardless it just sucks. Hopefully when the servers shutdown, the people setting up unofficial servers will actually essentially create a new GTS and find a way to actually moderate it.

I remember being 10 and just finding as many shiny legendaries as possible, not knowing that they were all hacked in 😆

I remember needing a cosmoem because i traded my cosmog not knowing that it had an evo at the time, and once i traded for a Cosmoem, my game crashed and i needed to wait 24 hours before i just popped a female salandit in the gts and got my cosmoem like that.

I've made a similar video last year and an updated video on this exact topic. It's sad to see that things didn't change at all.

Try the gen 5 GTS. I know, it's not really bad, but can be funny, for some reason

I remember using the GTS to finish my ultra sun dex in 2020, so frustrating but I'm kind of proud I managed to do it, I was new to pokemon at the time

That’s why we can’t have nice things. Probably the reason why GTS never came back in Sword and Shield, Scarlet and Violet.

The solution to this using 2 3ds with both of the games and trade. Gts is on life support and only has a few months to live

All of this annoyed me to death when I was trying to complete Ultra Sun's Pokédex a few months ago. I do regret nit having done that while my friends still played that too.

funny thing is, i usually use the gts to actually connect with my friends to do trade evos for nuzlockes

It sucks they're shutting it down. I only have one 3DS and that's how I trade between my ultra sun and ultra moon.

I remember using the GTS a lot to complete my Pokédex in Ultra Moon. Wish we had a similar feature in the switch games because o don’t have many friends who are willing to help me complete the Pokédex.

In gen 6 my game would crash on gts but i had an even worse situation about 2 weeks ago A wonder trade caused my game to crash in pokemon x i just reset like i would for gts and my heart sank when i read *the save file is corrupted* i didnt wanna lose this file. It had my living dex and my first shiny which was a protean froakie(i dont count the freebie gyarados haxorus dragonite or garchomp) i tried everything that was suggested to do using bank to move stuff and see if it read it right. Bank didnt recognize the save file anymore. I finally deleted it and it let me restart. I got all the way to dendemille in X and saved the game and it crashed when i saved. Restart and oh look save file is corrupted again So i delete data and new game again Get my starter and save It freezes during the save I play around with it go all the way through the game without saving at all and nothing happens it works perfectly fine I forgot about the save issue and tried connecting to pss Game freezes Save file is corrupted again Fml Pretty sure somehow the glitched wonder trade bricked by ability to save specifically

I liked the gts because it meant I was able to fully complete the Pokédex and get every legendary and shiny version of every legendary Pokémon in the game at that point.

The wait time due to interrupted trade was implemented to prevent people from trade cloning. That was a pretty well known exploit during XY and I think they introduced that cooldown in ORAS to punish people that abused it. Not sure if you can still do it in Sun/Moon, but they probably left the code in the game anyway just in case.

Honestly not surprised because of the fact that idiots love ruining everything pokemon related.

I appreciate this video man, because I just got into Pokemon Sun and beat the Elite 4 got all the Tapu, and Ultra Beasts. But I still know there has to be more legendaries and Mythicals I guess to get or transfer to the game. I didn’t know about that other cool feature in the game where we could do Island scans I missed out on that back then because I didn’t have 2DS or 3DS handheld. I’m glad I got back into Pokemon it’s all thanks to Sword & Shield. And from watching some Pokemon play throughs. It’s definitely cool that I found your channel awhile back I appreciate your content dude.

I'm currently trying to complete my Pokedex in Ultra Sun and I don't have Ultra Moon, so pretty much my only option to get the version exclusives is the GTS. I actually madages to complete a trade a few days ago, but the freezing thing is a really big problem because sometimes it happenson the first Pokemon so I can't even look at what people are offering

That is why I only use Wonder Trades. Sometimes you get hacked shiny Legendary holding a Master Ball or a Mega Stone. I just take the free Master Ball then release the hacked Mon

This is heartbreaking.

In the GTS, you must scroll pass those people quickly or else your game will freeze and you gotta power off and on your 3ds, also dont do the absol, or abra trades, your trades are disabled for a while, also theres some people named MistukiTV and deadcns and if you put in like a diglett and you want a rayquaza, they give you a clearly hacked pokemon (Also do not even look at the people who want snivy for shiny legendaries)

So if I want to do trade evolutions past April 2024 will I need to do it prior Gen 4 and 5 because having a 2ds and DS for getting competive stats

also i remember a hacker named adventursnivy where they would always ask for a snivy and had i believe dexio as their pfp

it sucks so much that these idiots who are advertising their Discord servers and flooding the servers with hacked Pokemon are allowed to operate on the GTS for the gen 6 and 7 games, they've ruined the expereince for the dedicated players like me who just want to enjoy these games while they last.

I still play these games and I gave up on completing the Pokédex because of the GTS. Most of it was completed through Wonder Trading all of my Breedjects, but I set up a few of my games to where they're randomized as my way of completing the Pokédex. Edit: It sucks that my Pokémon aren't going to be legitimate, but it is sad that I have to complete the Pokédex through hacking with extra steps.

Surprised someone did a video on this, for the past few months I’ve been playing ultra sun and regular sun since I’m too poor for the new games. The GTS has given me Pokémon I really shouldn’t have. Almost every shiny legendary with almost every badge. At one point I had 5 shiny zekroms. Now most of the GTS are impossible trades that crash. But, it’s fun to have these Pokémon I’ve never been able to see, especially shiny versions.

I actually recently got my shiny charm in USUM, and I did use the gts for a good dozen trades. Putting version exclusives on offer yielded results very fast. And i did manage a few successful trades although browsing mostly was a deadend of frozen screens.

When it comes to fixing the crashing, the only thing I can think of is have someone go into the code and disable the player profile pics, for that is what causes the game to crash. They could even then try and get rid of the hacked Pokémon through a bot or just delete them. I don’t know if this is possible, but if anyone wants a temporary fix, if you spam the home button while holding right, it won’t load any player profile pics and you can get passed Japan Kebuji, but this is very very inconsistent.

about a year ago I started playing ultra moon and wanted to 100% the pokedex for first time in my life. It was a mistake. My 3ds crashed so many times everytime i found a pokemon I needed. I was so pissed at one point that I decided to find information on one specific person that kept crashing the 3ds for me specifically so I ended up looking into their information found out that it was some indian guy that lives in canada lol.

Very disappointing about the development of the gts... I remember when x and y just came out and it was a new feature, you couldn't find any of this gross stuff on there. Barely any hacked pokemon or anything malicious! I got a lovely leavanny and beartic from the gts that I used on my team until the elite four.

Man I come back to this game every few months to do random trades and online double battles.. I remember collecting caterpies on route one for like an hour getting as much as I can to trade then 😭😭

Does the update count as a cheat tho? Like can I update and still transfer pokemon up?

Well at lease the Pokemon White, Back, white2 and black 2 GTS isn’t that bad (you can get back on it with a DNS server code)

I remember a friend telling me about the trainer icon crashes.. i think it was like setting their model to something like the interior of the poké center? But i always thought he was talking about X/Y/OR/AS but i guess not

I had something similar happen as I was searching for a Xerneas and it was gonna do the trade and my game froze. So I just wanna say even if your game doesn't freeze while browsing the Gts, it doesn't mean the Pokemon wasn't hacked. I unfortunately found this out the hard way. It really sucks to see how bad the Gts has gotten which is a shame cause it was a great idea but ruined by idiots. Thanks for bringing more attention to this though.

One neat thing you can do with these illegal trades however is get some hacked Zygarde, disassemble them into cells, and then reassemble the cells into now perfectly legal Zygarde. I tested it and can confirm it works.

Ido remember that on my old Pokemon Y save. i wonder traded a bunch but starting at the end of last year my game crashing and it seems to be deleting Pokemon off the save and it was crashing leaving the Pokemon center or opening boxes. after deleting the save, the game still crashes after choosing a language. (love your content BTW)

How in gods name have the devs not been able to counter this kind of stuff? Super weak

The GTS for all the 3d's games have been screwed for years now and gamefreak never fixed it so the hackers bugged it so bad that the game just crashes just by looking at the pokemon

A while back the festival plaza was my whole life. I spent hours looking for good trades on the gts and it never froze. I'm so sad people ruined it

What bad stuff can happen to your game from trading on the GTS?

About a ywar ago I had the very stupid idea of starting a shinies only run in Sun and wanted to get the Shiny Charm as soon as possible. While I had a majority of the Dex on my copies of Moon and Ultra Moon, I was still missing about 30 Pokemon to trade to Sun, so I took to the GTS and saw just how god awful it is in its current state. It took me quite a while to get all the Pokemon I need just by depositing for semi equal trades. If I ever try to get the shiny charm as early as possible again I'm just running PKSM scripts. It just sucks to see how bad its been

when they shut the servers down, does that mean you can never get trade evolutions? unless you own a 2nd system?

I only ever got a semi-harmless “connection error” when trading for a hacked mon. I didn’t know THIS was happening…

I remember i used to trade a bunch of 5 iv Dratini's in ORAS to fill my pokedex. I spent multiple days breeding 3 or 4 box fulls of 31 HP/ATT/DEF/SP. DEF/ SPD dratinis. All legit. I got the original traded to me from a friend in America who got one from an event. It felt like i had the GTS all wrapped around my fingers. I got every legendary i wanted and completed a living dex

Wonder trade is the same for pokemon x and y there been many times where i got hacked legendaries and stuff

Yeah this has been a problem for years, hopefully when fans make their own fan servers for GTS this problem is curbed, your whole game freezing and having to rest your console is absolutely ridiculous

why do people do this? the 3ds online services are coming to a end it doesn't make sense why people purposely mess up the gts
